Today Anouk was visiting the Latin Quarter for no reason whatsoever. The student quarter was a good place for finding inspiration and lately she had been seeking it. And of course she just wanted to go around Paris to share her happiness with the world because for once she was perfectly, completely and absolutely happy. Her long unrequited love had finally received an answer and the world was colorful once again. ‘La place Saint Michel’ was especially busy and beautiful today, with students scattered all around with their books sitting in benches and chatting during their breaks. Anouk never had a special interest for university life, though she had wondered if it was somehow like her daily life at the academy. She had heard about the famous university parties and had been in a few of those but apart from that she couldn’t see the difference. Sitting in a free bench with coffee on her hands and her sketch book she proceeded to capture the scenes in front of her; a woman buying flowers with a kid on tow who was playing with a balloon, some students sitting in the fountain playing with the water… Laughter filled the air and everything seemed perfect for once. Her mind, body and soul were feeling exactly the same, a peaceful break for her heart and happiness. She was healing nicely.
She was so self absorbed in her sketching that she didn’t realized her coffee cup was empty and when she went to take another sip of it nothing came out. Sighing she had to get up and look for a place where she could buy some. It was a bad habit of hers to have coffee whenever she was working or shopping or just out in the streets for a walk. Unfortunately for her, the place was a touristic spot and soon enough it was filled with tourist blocking her way and making it difficult to return to her place, all the magic now gone for good as they talked in languages she didn’t recognized and took pictures of everything. Children laughing and playing were replaced by children scowling and crying because they were either tired or wanted to buy something. Anouk’s eyebrow frowned at the scene. At one point someone bumped into her and her coffee spilled, into a man’s t-shirt. Anouk’s eyes widened and she looked up to see against who she had bumped, the tourist never apologizing as she narrowed her eyes in the direction the tourist was walking. Turning to the poor man she quickly apologized, not raising her eyes from the where the t-shirt was smeared. “Oh god I am so sorry! That woman bumped into me and….” She raised her eyes to apologize properly and her face turned into surprise. “Kian! What are you doing here?” Her friend was in front of her, which calmed her down, knowing her won’t scold her for such a thing.
