---------------- PERSONALITY ---------------
LIKES, Winning, good literature, astronomy, people-watching, his own company, spontaneity, messing with people, change.
DISLIKES, Busy-bodies, commitment, staying in one place for too long, talking on the phone, repetitive sounds, schedules.
FEARS, Being trapped (in any sense of the word), failing, too much introspection, dependency.
PERSONALITY,
Simeon is one of the few people where a first impression is all you need. How long does it take to figure out that someone is an arrogant jackass? He has spent his entire life looking out for himself. At one point circumstances dictated that this was a necessity, but before long it became habit. Simeon reflexively places his needs above all else. He takes all that he can get with little regard for others. That said, he is not completely self-absorbed. He is very aware of his surroundings and sensitive to changes in the mood and behavior of people around him. This information is useless to him, though, as he typically blows it off and continues with whatever he was doing regardless of how it is affecting others.
Simeon deals with everything on his own. He does not ask for help or offer it. The thought of depending on anyone or owing someone terrifies him. If, for any reason, he can't handle something on his own he dismisses it and goes without. Simeon does not curb his emotions, words or actions. He is straightforward and more direct than people are used to. Depending on his mood, his personality can seem abrasive, but Simeon knows how to turn on the charm and play people when he wants something.
His life lacks purpose at the moment, and probably always will. He grows bored or frustrated with projects quickly. Simeon hasn't seen anything through in his life. He abandons everything he tries before he has a chance to fail. In his mind, never trying means never having to fail. He is an extremely bright and talented individual who would be reasonably to extremely successful in any field he chose to pursue. His chronic inability to stick with anything hinders him greatly. The instant it looks like he is succeeding at something or becoming too attached, his instinct is to flee, abandon it, get away, anything.

---------------- HISTORY ---------------
FATHER, Not currently known
MOTHER, Cecelia Parker
OTHER FAMILY, Spent most of his childhood with Trinity and Ryan Carter, Scott and Linda Carter, and Rosaline Parker (grandparents, aunts and uncles).
HISTORY,
Simeon never knew his father, and he has few clear memories of his mother. As he was shipped from relative to relative, he received various explanations as to why he didn't have the typical Mommy-Daddy setup, but eventually it all boiled down to, “your father disappeared and your mother doesn't want you.” From the number of times he was bounced around to different aunts, uncles, and grandparents, he gathered that they didn't much want him either.
Well, Simeon was young and adaptable. He didn't complain about his less than ideal family situation, instead turning it to his advantage. None of his extended family was particularly interested in parenting and discipline, so from a young age Simeon learned that no matter what he did, the ultimate outcome would be a brand new home with brand new people that he could use, manipulate and ignore until they too grew tired of it and offloaded him onto someone else. He shirked every responsibility he was given and burned every bridge he crossed.
Constantly having a way out didn't do much to help his people-skills. On the occasion that some adult tried to regain control over him, he would disappear for a few days and return to an apathetic and resigned household. He never complained that no one cared about him; that was exactly the way he wanted it. As a result, Simeon is very hesitant to trust, rely on, or depend on anyone else. Of course, his oppositional behavior did not come from no where. It stems in part from his bottled resentment of having a less than perfect life. Simeon doesn't realize it, because acknowledging something like that would mean admitting that he was affected by something so juvenile.
Simeon had an understandably hard time deciding what he would do with his new found freedom. He had cultivated his writing talent as a way to cope with some of his pent up frustration. A counselor or a therapist or someone of that nature had recommended that he try it, and Simeon learned that he it actually felt good to focus his thoughts and get everything on paper. Ultimately it didn't do much to curb his acting out. After he had graduated (something no one could really understand how he had managed), the chance to study writing in Paris came up. He seized it. It was the fastest and easiest way to get as far as possible from his old self. The long term effects of that choice didn't matter, he just needed to run and planned on dealing with the future as it came to him.
