Fred knew he was one of a kind guy, he couldn’t help being the way he was. He had the most peculiar habits and sometimes he could be a bit stupid. But he loved himself and he tried not to mind what other people thought of him. Something he had learn over the years had been laugh at himself, that way other’s people laughs won’t be able to affect you. His mother had been such an amazing person he tried to learn as much from her as he could when she was alive, he had always admired her. He loved to be sitting there right at the moment, seeing Aara’s face change from red to a darker shade of red as she blushed as his comments and his brutal honesty. He had finally the green light, which meant something was on the way, now he should not forgot to give her his number and a promise to meet her again somewhere. And of course a surprise visits to her class after tracking her down, he was sure she would like the attention and the detail and he sure loved doing those kind of cheesy things.
Fred was a hopeless romantic, who would have thought that? But of course he was a dancer, he was sensible and cared for feelings and all those things girls gave so much importance. He tried to please them, but always being honest with them. “You have a nice glow when you blush.” He laughed softly and went back to his sandwich to allow her to get back her normal color. Teasing her was so much fun! He could spend the whole day there just making her blush, though he noticed she was more than embarrassed and speechless and by her face he knew it wasn’t something she was used to. “Woah, cat got your tongue? I thought I would never see you speechless.” She sure was the kind of girl who babbled a lot when being nervous or around someone she liked. He liked those kind of girls, they gave a lot of important personal details during their babbling and if you stopped enough to really listen to them they will tell you a lot about their current mood and feelings.
He owned his mother all the knowledge about girls. When kid she taught him everything he needed to know about them, giving him good advice for the future. Now he was making good used of them, she was sure his mother would be proud of him. He shrugged when she apologized about his mother thing, he really didn’t care that much, he was used by now. “Don’t mind it too much.” He said giving her a half smile and bitting his sandwich again. Fred was happy with little things like this, eating a good sandwich, having a good conversation, finding something he had thought lost long ago… He believed the key of living a good life was enjoying what everyone often didn’t notice. People gave too much importance to things that really weren’t important, and regretted it when they lost what it really was. But that was something life had, and it wouldn’t change. “I agree with you, Romeo was stupid, he should have listened to her, and if he really loved her, he would have known her real intentions.” He was happy they seemed to have so much things in common, and he found himself starting to really like Aara. “Oh that? No, I’m a flirter by nature, but you are a good target for my compliments.” He chuckled and took another sip of his coffee, winking at her. He could really see having something with this amazing girl.

Aara was sure by now that this would not be the last time she saw Frederic. The thought of the relationship they could have made her smile. Plus, the closer they got the more opportunities she would have to paint that picture she wanted to. Another thing that Aara knew as a fact was that this would not be the last time she ever blushed around Fred. He had a way of knowing just what to say to make her react. There were very few guys alive that took the time to figure girls out and then to actually use their knowledge when picking up a girl. Aara had heard many pretty words flowing from men's mouths, but very few actually meant what she said. Frederic seemed sincere when he spoke kindly about Aara and she appreciated it. The attention was kind and welcome. Most guys would shower girls with attention to get them hooked and then just stopped. There didn't seem to be an end to the compliments that Fred was sending her way.
He even told her that she had a nice glow about her when she blushed. What girl in her right mind actually liked to blush? It was like displaying your feelings towards the guy right on your face. She preferred when guys didn't figure out that she was attracted to them. That way she could mess with them. There was no way that she could mess with Fred. Not know because he knew that she liked him and it would be impossible for her to convince him otherwise. He seemed to enjoy teasing her. She wanted to tease him for being a dancer, but decided to save her ammunition for later. For when he really teased her and she needed to get him back for it. He commented on the fact that she was speechless and that she didn't seem like the type to be at a loss for words. "What is up with that expression? Why would a cat have my tongue? Doesn't make since but you're right. I'm almost always talking. Some people think that's a bad thing."
Aara wasn't sure what it was about him but Fred had had some sort of training to be this good with girls. Or she was just blind to the fact that he wasn't really that could of a flirter and was just easily won over. She liked to think that the latter was the fact. Easy was just not an adjective that she felt comfortable giving herself. She wasn't slutty and didn't go out of her way to get guys attention. The brown haired girl wouldn't shoo away any attention she got, but she didn't go fishing for it. That wasn't her style and didn't want anyone to think that that was the fact. No one had ever given her some many compliments which told Aara that Fred was really into her. It could be that he was really bored and needed something to do, but she was sure that a dancer like him wasn't bored.
Frederic once again brushed off the mother thing so Aara decided to leave it as was, and drop that conversation completely. That would be better and easier for both of them. What interested Aara about the last bit of what Fred said was the fact that he agreed with her on the topic of Romeo and Juliet. Romeo was a stereotypical guy who was too bull headed to listen to the woman. The brown eyed girl could be proud of the fact that she had found a guy that actually listened to what a girl had to say. If there were more guys in the world like him then there would be a lot less heartbroken girls. The world would be some much better off. "Exactly their connection would have been stronger, but no they said I love you in two days then went and committed suicide. That's a great message to send to people." Fred denied being a flirter and claimed that Aara was just a good target. It made Aara blush a little again. She had thought that she had gotten rid of the color. "Would you stop doing that?" Aara didn't mind being flattered but she didn't like the blushing part of it.

Fred shrugged and smiled. He liked girls that talked a lot, he could always get a lot of useful information from that. “It’s an expression I heard somewhere.” He said, trying to remember where he had heard and from who, but he couldn’t, he shook his head and went back to track. “Talking a lot is not bad, it means you have a lot of things to say and that you want to be listen.” People who talked a lot had the best body language; it was interesting how much you could know about someone by just paying a little bit of attention. “I’m also a bubble mouth.” He took another bit of his sandwich and for the first time he actually took a look at the clock. He didn’t want to leave but he couldn’t get home very late, he had to training next day and had to wake up earlier. He hated it when dancing ruined thing like this, sometimes he thought dancing got on the way of his personal life, and other days he thought it was his personal life interfering with his dancing. Then the most brilliant idea crossed him mind.
He wasn’t sure if she had something to do the next day, she would probably have classes and things to do, but it was worth the shot. Actually they were going to do a rehearsal in the stage instead of the classroom, and it was open to anyone who wanted to see it. Of course he doubted actually someone was going to go to a rehearsal, but he was sure Aara would appreciate the chance to draw in such a peace environment. “Hey, tomorrow I have the first rehearsal in the stage, would you like to go?” He was giving her an open invitation, she was free to either refuse or accept it, but by inviting her he was letting her know he had intentions of making plans with her soon. Some guys never called back after the first date, but since this wasn’t a date that rule didn’t apply. Whichever the case, he wasn’t one of those guys, if he was really interested he will always make sure of having a date before leaving the place, he wasn’t going to wait to call her and made the plans. “I think you will find it interesting and you will be able to draw in peace.”
He laughed at her comment about Romeo, few girls considered him in the light she saw him. It was the ideal romantic guy for all girls, but he always thought that was stupid. Killing yourself for love didn’t really have merit in his eyes; it was the easy way to get rid of the pain. If you love someone you will keep on living for that person, and will keep cherishing her in your memory and heart. “I agree with you, loving is not about saying it but showing it, usually saying it makes it lost the meaning of the love.” Taking into account Shakespeare dramas had been written in a time where girls were regarded as nothing more than wives and sort of a decoration for a house… well you could say no one will take the message to heart, except for the hopeless romantic girls who wanted to have such a non-sense dramatic love. “No, I like it when you blush, gives a lot of information about you.” And let him know what she liked. He was sure she didn’t like to blush but he loved when he could read people feelings in their faces.

There were a lot of famous expressions that Aara didn't understand. What was the point of saying something that made no sense to get across the same message you could send by saying something else? She was sure that she had sad a few, but it didn't mean that she understood what she said and she liked to understand what she was saying. Of course sometimes when she went off babbling other people couldn't understand her, but she always knew the message she was trying to convey. Most people would politely nod and act like they knew what she had said. "People who don't talk a lot don't want to be listened to? I think they do they just have a lot less to say." Aara pointed out that not only people who talked a lot wanted to be listened to. Although she appreciated it when someone would take the time to listen to her, it was rare to find someone that could follow.
"Good that means we can have endless and pointless conversations." Being around other people who talked as much as she did was always nice for Aara because then she wasn't expected to be the only one talking. She really was good at listening it was just that most of the people she hung out with were quiet and rarely talked so she had to fill the silence. One thing she didn't like was to sit there in an uncomfortable silence. Sometimes the quiet was necessary, but if she could help it there was always some sort of noise going on around her. It drove her nuts to sit alone with absolutely no noise. That was one of those unique things about her. Her siblings could sit in the silence for hours on end and not be affected by it.
When Frederic eyes drifted to the clock Aaralyn thought of what she had to do tomorrow. She didn't have any classes to go to since the teachers were giving them time to go find inspiration and to get started on their projects. She'd probably spend most of the day trying to come up with something brilliant to do for her projects. The sculpting project she had was hopeless so she'd leave that until later. The painting and sketch projects were the most important and needed to be perfect or she wouldn’t be around much longer. Frederic's eyes returned to her and she came back to reality.
He offered for her to come to his rehearsal tomorrow. She always loved watching the routines, and she did need to get those projects finished. It would be full of inspiration and there wouldn't be too much to distract her from her work. That and it would be interesting to watch Fred in his natural setting. Doing something that came so natural to him. She also got to see him in general which probably was a rare occurrence given his strict schedule. "Sure I'd love to go. I can get some much needed work done." She agreed to going to the open rehearsal.
Aara liked Fred's laugh. It was pleasant and showed that he enjoyed what she was saying. Not that she was trying to be funny she was just being honest. She'd take what she could get though. They shared the same philosophy about love to. The other person should know that you love them without you having to say it. When you're truly in love you're so connected to the person that few words are needed to convey the message that you're trying to send. "I agree completely. Love is not something that you say it's a feeling." Frederic went on to say that he liked it when she blushed. "I'm not a fan of blushing. It makes me feel like a little girl who can't control her emotions and that is not me at all." She had never really explained why she didn't like blushing to anyone. She didn’t like the vulnerable state or the fact that people food read her like an open book.

Around Aara there just wasn’t a single uncomfortable silence and that was great. He just loved the way they were getting along because not every day you can meet someone who clicks with you in such a perfect way. Fred loved the way Aara tripped over her words and babbled, she had so much ideas going around her mind that she couldn’t set on one. That meant she had a very active creativity and a clever and fast mind, she should be one of the last girls of her kind, he had to treat her with great care, like a treasure. He mulled over what she had said, and realized she just got a point. Far from feeling offended at missing it, he smiled; he couldn’t wait to see how an argument with her will roll when they had one. He believed some argument from time to time was good to wake up a sleeping relationship or to give it a shake in order to not let it sleep. People were usually afraid of arguments, because you hurt other people with them, but a nice controlled one was never a bad thing. “You’ve got a point.” He admitted. “They have things to say and want to be listen, they just don’t know how to get it out.”
He nodded, happy to have ahead lots of those conversations with her and hoping to make her blush more often. Girls really didn’t notice how amazing they look like when they blush and how much pleasure that brought to guys. There was a reason they complimented girls and it was that. He liked a dynamic conversation, someone he could talk to not having to look for topics because they will just appear. It was nice when you start talking about coffee and you could end up talking about something completely different, like one thing leads you to another and you can’t even remember how you end up talking about it. When Aara agreed to go Fred couldn’t help but smile, the main reason he had invited her was to show off a little. He believed in his talent and wanted to impress her. Dance was about making people feel something by the way you move, it was talking without words, expressing what words couldn’t really describe. He had discovered it watching his mother, and he had understood it completely the day he had seen her on the dining hall, her silhouette cut by sun and her smooth moves expressing so much emotion. “Great, I’ll be waiting for you then.” He said, pleased as a punch. “Promise you won’t laugh when you see me dancing around in a tutu.” It was a joke of course, he never really used those kind of things to dance.
“Is all about feelings in the end.” He said smiling at her. She was such a surprising girl. He laughed out loud when she said she was not a fan of blushing, something he already knew. The way she tried to hide it was cute, but he could read her face like an open book. “You girls have no idea how much we like seeing you blush.” It meant they were doing their job well, and it was great to know that, it encouraged them to go on and not give up. A girl who was always a mask was a girl a guy will give up faster than you could say goodbye. “It gives some incentive to go on and it looks very cute, we like cute things, we just don’t say it out loud.” He winked at her playfully and ended up his sandwich with a last big bite. Coffee was gone too and he felt full. But he didn’t want to leave, he could wait a bit more to say their farewells, he was just having so much fun with her it felt the magic will disappear if he dared to cross the door. “To be honest, I don’t believe we can control our emotions, we can try to hide them, but never control them, we just like to think we can.” And was what the point of controlling them anyway? Emotions, feelings, they were all made to be lived and all of them had a meaning, they were there for a reason, it was a stupid thing trying to control human nature.

To an outsider it would probably seem like Fred and Aara had been best friends or in a relationship for a long time. Their body languages were so similar which usually doesn't happen until later in a relationship. It would take spending a lot of time together for them to pick up on the little things from each other. No one would be able to guess that this was their first encounter. It's normal for people to be awkward and nervous when on a first date. Not that they were even on a first date it was just a coincidence that they had even met each other. There was nothing normal about their meeting or about how well the connected. Aara liked the feeling that she had known Fred for a lot longer than she really had. To be able to talk to someone for hours without even knowing it was something she'd always been jealous of other people for, but now she was able to experience it. The hour long conversation that only felt like a few minutes was hers now. She had no reason to be jealous of something she already had. She was glad that Frederic had walked into her life, and that her social life would be improving. Even though she was aware that with his busy schedule Frederic wouldn't be around a lot, studying at the same school meant that it should be easier.
Aara was sure that this was about the closest relationship she had ever had with a male. Well that was besides her brother. Sure she'd had plenty of boyfriends, but it usually ended badly for her. Her fear of being forever alone caused Aaralyn to stick to someone as soon as they showed interest in her. They would take advantage of that and use her to get whatever they wanted, and then go behind her back with other girls that were less clingy. The brown haired girl would put up blinders to what they were doing to her. Keeping herself in the dark was easier than facing the problem. She would let them threat her poorly because she thought that she didn't have much of a choice. It would go on until the guy would get tired of her. They would drop her like a hot rock and leave. Aara would be alone and hurt. It had happened so many times that she had started to put up a wall. Without even trying Frederic had managed to break through that wall she had put up to block people out. Even though she didn't necessarily want other people to break through she wasn't scared that Frederic had managed to get through. Aara trusted her with all of her being.
Aara's heart skipped just a little when he said that he would be waiting for her to go with him to his rehearsal. She knew that he wanted her to go, but she wasn't aware that he was so enthusiastic about her going. Today had so far been an odd one. First Aara had actually gotten to spend time with her sister. Then she met Frederic who had managed to make her excited to spend time with him. Frederic went on to say that he hoped she wouldn't make fun of him for the dancing. "I won't promise that I'm not going to say anything, but I'll try to be nice." She grinned at him. She knew that there would be nothing to make fun of. Plus she would be working so she wouldn't have time to say anything about it.
They had very similar views about many things. The fact that they agreed that in the end relationships were based upon feelings was amazing. It was odd to hear a guy tell her that feelings were important usually they disregard that and think only with the extra appendage that God gave them. "I don't know very many guys who would agree with you on that." Aara said her voice held a little bit of her surprise. There was one thing she didn't agree with Frederic on which was that girls were cute when they blushed. Frederic said that guys like seeing girls blush. It wasn't that Aara wasn't flattered by what he had said to her, it was just blushing bothered her. "I guess I wouldn't know since I'm not a guy and all." Aara pointed out that girls and guys didn’t think the same way.

It seemed as if he knew this girl since forever and not that he decided to sit with her by luck. He liked the feeling of being able to talk about everything with her, no walls or uncomfortable silences. He was the kind of guy that meet people everywhere and an five minutes later he knew all the life of that person. Fred had that vibe around him that attracted people to him; he made them all feel comfortable. But somehow he felt she was different, she wasn’t just another girl or guy he had met and that he won’t be seeing anymore. He really wanted to impress her, he really wanted to see her again. Fred never believe in love at first sight, you need to know the person before you get serious with him or her. He always got hurt when it came to love because he gave more than he received. He was a hopeless romantic, putting effort into detail and small things, and some girls got tired of it. Who would have thought huh? He even was dumped once because he was ‘too perfect’. He never believed so; he just tried to make up for the lack of dates and his tight schedule.
He had to learnt to build walls around him so the comments from other won’t affect him, but he wasn’t about to bring up his past now, he had managed to let all those things go and just be himself despite of what others thought and how much they tried to bring him down. He was ready for them all. She seemed to be like him, some sweet innocent girl who always got hurt because guys used her and her patient. He could never understand why guys who got the bests girls, the ones who will always be there and that everyone dreamt for, left them for hot chicks all looks but no brains. Luckily for her, he wasn’t going to let her go that easily now that he had found someone he liked. But he still didn’t know her well enough to determinate if they were going to be friends, flings or proper lovers. Aara promised she will try not to laugh, he already knew she won’t because she was the kind type. “That definitely makes me feel better.” He said laughing, his second cup of coffee was finished and so was his sandwich, he didn’t have another reason to stay there, so he tried to look for one. They could stay there for a while more until he would just have to leave.
“Well, we all are different, aren’t we? I tend to be honest with everyone, girls included.” Guys used and lied to girls and played the bad and cold guy with them thinking that way they will get better girls. Most of girls like the hard type, the rebellious one, but the all of them waited in secret for ‘the one’ that guy who would treat her like a princess, will take her out to nice places, will compliment her and will be basically the father of her children. Just like guys liked hot chicks, but in the end they didn’t want to end up alone either and looked for the girl who won’t gave them what they want so easily. “But playing the hard guy always attract girls.” He said winking at her. “No one wants a romantic cry baby.” He used one the sentences a girl had used to dump him once, and he had taken it kindly, because though he wasn’t a cry baby, he did liked to avoid trouble and tended to just be himself. “All girls want their strong prince to rescue them.” He wasn’t a strong prince, though he would defend the honor of his girl with his life, as cheesy as it may sound. He just had different ways of showing it.

Aara couldn't find a flaw in Frederic. There was not one thing that was bad about him. Nothing that would make her think that they couldn't be friends or that they couldn't be more than friends. The relationship would play out as it did. Right now she was just glad that she was getting to spend time with him. It didn't bother her a lot that she couldn’t find a flaw in him. She was sure that there was one. It would just take some digging to find one. All humans had some sort of a flaw it was nature and you can't change nature no matter how hard you try it just isn't going to happen. It was hard to expect to find a flaw in someone upon your first meeting. That's why it took effort from both parties to get a relationship to start. One must be willing to expose those things that we try so hard to hide early one so that the other isn't surprised by them. If it wouldn't have been weird Aara had a feeling that she would be willing to tell Frederic all her secrets right then. There was nothing too terrible in her past that she had to hide, but this was not something that she wanted to lose so she would wait until the time was right to talk about the past.
It was all about right now in this particular moment in time there was no reason to go back on those times for either one of them. If they were to go ahead and be more than friends at some point in time Aara was sure that it would come out just not right now. Time was the deciding factor for what would happen between them. Fred seemed relieved that Aara wouldn't make fun of him when he was dancing. Guys usually didn't show that insulting comments hurt them, but Fred seemed to be one of them that were actually affected by what others had to say. This made Aara wonder if he had had problems with people commenting rudely upon his choice of occupation. She kept the thought from crossing her features not wanting him to see her thinking about it. She was sure that if her features did show her thinking about it that she would have a similar expression to the one she had worn when he spoke about his mother. "Glad that I quelled your worries." Aara commented.
Fred said that he was honest with everyone including girls. Aara couldn't help but smile at this it was a good thing and one of the most positive things she had ever heard anyone say. "I'm glad that there is someone who thinks that everyone deserves to be told the truth." Aara agreed that everyone was capable of handling the truth. If they weren't then it was their own problem. She always tried to keep her rude comments to herself and to only tell people the most positive things that she had to say about them. Hurting people's feelings was just something she didn't like to do. Frederic pointed out that girls like the guys that appear to be assholes. "We're attracted to them because we're naïve and think that we can change them to be exactly what we want. It's the challenge of changing them that we're attracted to." Aara explained why girls like to go for the guys that were rude and mean to everyone that walked on two legs. "Deep down we really want them to be the romantic guy we just want to make them that way ourselves. I've done it a few times before and it never seemed to work." Having been around the bush a couple times Aara was all too aware of how girls' project turned out. "We want someone that will treat us the way we think we deserve to be treated." Sure the thought of a perfect manly guy was nice, but it was stupid to wait your whole live for it.

Fred didn’t know where things were heading but certainly he didn’t care right now. He wasn’t going to think of a long future taking into account his record with girls, but he had perspectives and at least he was still planning to meet her soon. There were no walls at all around Fred, only when he had to get them up, that’s why people had always took advantage of him. But Fred, as everyone, had his dark side, one he had put into motion when he had enough of the bulling he was suffering. Dance had brought him joy… and loads of suffering too. Her mother never warned him about how hard it would be for him, or maybe she didn’t know because as a girl she didn’t have the same problems. He was glad that at least she didn’t have to go through his suffering along with him, if she would have been alive that would have killed her. It meant a lot to Fred to know Aara would appreciate his dancing instead of making fun of him, and he was sure if some people took the time to actually watch him they will understand it wasn’t only for girls.
He was also gad that she could understand him. It didn’t seem to take any effort for them to be friends, the topics just flowed naturally and they had quite a few things in common. The first one and the most important was that they both loved art, it didn’t really matter their branch was different when the point, conveying feelings to people, make them react, do beautiful things for the world, was the same. Fred didn’t know what he would have done with his life if he didn’t have the dance, when he stopped dancing he was really lost. He didn’t take interest in classes, nothing could make him react the way dancing had done. He understood his path was that but back then it looked like a black hole more than a path and it was blocked. He was glad he had decided to jump into the black hole the day of his mother’s funeral. He wouldn’t have made it there otherwise. His father had been a great support, instead of moaning because of his kid wasn’t going to play soccer he took him to ballet lessons and helped him whenever he could with his train.
It had been a great day for his father when was admitted into the academy. Though Fred took proud on being honest, he was far too honest sometimes, and that wasn’t a good thing. He called thing by their names, sometimes not really caring if that hurt or sting a wound. He was of the opinion knowing the truth was better than hiding it, even if it hurt. “Yeah, but sometimes I can be too honest.” He knew it was bad, but he couldn’t help it, those were his ways. Fred laughed; he couldn’t believe girls still tried to change boys. Boys could be simple and easy to understand but if a guy was one thing he mostly will like that forever or until he found someone worth changing for. And it was only for a while, to get the girl. “That’s like trying to change a rock from being one.” He said. “We boys only change for one reason: to get what we want as fast as we could.” Not that he was like them, he didn’t need to change, and he wasn’t going to even for a girl. He wanted to find the one who could put up with his ways or leave. “There are only a few of those around, you better be quickly to catch one then.” He didn’t mean himself, though he treated girls nicely and all that, he didn’t have much confidence himself as sure as he might look.

While contemplating when and where relationships should move on to the more intimate relationship, Aara's mind wandered again to things that were irrelevant to any of their current conversations. She went back to when what sort of relationship you were in didn't matter. Back when she was still in London with her family. None of them were special and no one had to work their tails off to be good enough. It was nice. Not that she didn't love what she had now, but there were times that she wondered what would have happened if she hadn't followed her brother to Paris. What if she had just stayed home and had been satisfied with how her art was there? Well she wouldn't be having this conversation with Fred and she wouldn't be in the most beautiful city she had ever been too. Also her art wouldn't have evolved to the magnitude of excellence it was at. Of course there was still a lot to learn. Those were the cons to staying home. If she had stayed home she would have avoided a lot of the heartbreak she had experienced here. She would have avoided the long nights of trying to perfect something that wasn't going to get any better. Trying to keep her head above the water and save herself from drowning. Even in hindsight she was glad that she had decided to come to Paris.
All the trials and tribulations in life are what shape us into the people we are. If she had stayed home she would still be naïve to the ugly side of the world. Sure she always tried to see everything as beauty, but even an artist can find the hurt and pain in the world. Many of the most famous artists had gone through terrible lives and still managed to somehow find beauty in it. Even if they were showing the dark side they managed to make it look manageable in a way. It always amazed Aara. That was the one thing she had trouble with. Anytime she tried to put anguish into her art it never turned out right. She always made everything look happy. Any emotion that was one that she tried to keep herself from experiencing gave her problems. Sure determination and concentration came easy but to put pain into someone's features was very difficult. That was a goal of hers. To let herself show bad emotions that way she could put it into her art. Aara was sure that there were other flaws within her art, but to her that was the one that most needed to be addressed.
Frederic saying that sometimes he was too honest made Aara's mind shift. Was she truly always honest? No, she would avoid telling people things as to not hurt their feelings. She denied admitting to herself that she had bad thoughts about people and things. She hides the dark sides of things from herself. Hide emotions behind closed doors, and kept them hidden within her own sort of Pandora's Box. So although she would be honest and not tell lies there were things that she wouldn't tell at all which could be just as bad. "There are downfalls to everyone and everything. I'll be honest with other people, but I have a terrible time trying to be honest with myself. That's just as bad as hurting someone's feelings just to tell them the truth." Well admitting it was the first step to possibly fixing it but why did she admit it to a guy that she met just a little while ago? What was wrong with her today? Maybe it was all the fresh air getting to her head. Her thoughts continued on to the next part of the conversation.
Girls were trying to do the impossible, Aara could agree with that. "We know that they change just to get our attention all too well. We just have to find out the hard way." It was a girl thing to be blind to a man's flaws and to think that everything would be fine. At least that's what Aara had always gotten from girls she talked to and her own experiences. Frederic said that she should hurry to find the guy that would treat her the way she thought she should be treated. Aara wasn't sure how she should be treated yet. There was still some figuring out she needed to be doing. There was no hurry to settle down unless she felt the overwhelming need to do so. Even though she was twenty there was still time for that, and there would be some good guy that hadn't made the cut and if not younger men weren't bad. "I'm in no hurry." And Aara wasn't. Time is endless.

Fred had his little tricks to convey what he wanted on his dance. Every time he had to express sadness he will think of the day he understood her mother won’t be coming back, when he needed to express happiness he remembered his first performance ever, when he needed to express emotion he will think of her mother dancing in the dinning all, light playing with her silhouette. At first he was scared of coming to Paris, thinking he wouldn’t be good enough, thinking the technique of the other dancers would be impossible to achieve for him. Then he realized, he was there because he was good enough, and he had nothing to fear. He didn’t regret his decision of coming here and dreamt to be first dancer on the best company of the world. That was a big goal, one he would have to work very hard for, leaving family, friends and even the possibility of a social life behind to give himself completely and absolutely to his dance. His knew his movements were far from perfect, his poses were imprecise and his muscles were still not strong enough to handle hours of non-stopping training.
But whatever he did, he filled it with passion, he felt it, and it all came naturally, his muscles just moving the right way not having to remember by memory. He was there to learn after all, no one was born being a pro. It sure was the same for everyone else so he tried to hide his insecure side under that thought or at least tried to comfort himself with it when he had some failure. People surprised him sometimes saying he was sure and strong, and he was sure he seemed to be, but inside Fred had his things, he just didn’t show them around. He wasn’t ashamed of saying them either, but you will have to bring up the subject for him to correct you and let you know that, like everyone else, he had a lot of insecurities and weak points. He was also surprised with his natural ability of making people open up around them. Some took time and others, like Aara, were piece of cake. He didn’t do it intentionally, it was just part of him, her mother had taken her time to teach him well and he had absorbed everything like a sponge.
“It’s difficult to be honest with yourself, that happens to everyone you know?” He said, offering her a smile of encouragement and support, knowing it would have probably been hard for her to admit it out loud. “We are more comfortable being blind to certain things.” He looked at his empty plate thinking about that time when he had tried to lie himself when he dropped dance. It had been easier saying he was happier fitting in with his classmates than doing something he probably would have to drop with time. It had been painful for him knowing it wasn’t true at all, and even more painful knowing he wasn’t fooling anyone with it, or at least those who were close to him, not even himself. “It was the same with me when I dropped dancing, and I think I still lie myself about some things.” He admitted, returning the favor. If she had been able to open up he might as well show some appreciation for the effort. They already had so much in common, Fred was glad they had hit on so well because he was in need of friends. He had left those he had back at home and he truly missed someone he could talk to.
Girls had tried to change him, begged him to drop dancing and spend more time with them or telling him he should be a bit manlier. Though he had got used to people thinking he was gay and to the constant teasing about it, he had to admit he still got pissed off. “We all learn the hard way.” Guys projected on girls the way they wanted to be, they expected too much of them to discover later they were nothing at all as they had thought. The key was not expecting, just letting it happen. He tried to take everyone as it was but of course there were people he wouldn’t get on well with. “We guys also expect to change you into the woman we want.” The difference was that girls were willing to change into the perfect woman of the guy, and the guy refused to be changed into someone he was not. Then when girls change and boys got what they wanted from them they realize they want a girl with more personality, someone who would challenge him and speak back at him. “Though you girls are willing to do so, or at least most of them are.” They tried to so hard to get the attention of someone that they didn’t realize if the guy didn’t love them the way they were, they probably won’t like them more if they changed, and they were not at all worth of the girl.

Aara wasn't sure that her thoughts had ever been this truthful to herself. Before she had had a conversation with Frederic she never would have been willing to admit anything about herself to anyone. Just because she loved to talk and loved to be around people who would listen she usually kept her most intimate information to herself. It was just something that she had always done. Sure she would tell things to her best friends and to her family, but not to random strangers that she was just talking to. All of her best friends were back in London and although she had been in Paris a few years there was no one that she would consider being true friends with. There was a connection that one could not replicate when you find that one person whose personality is so much like yours. That's the greatest foundation for a friendship. There was just not that person here in Paris. No one made her feeling like they could be completely trusted with all of her most intimate feelings and thoughts. That is no one besides the diary that she kept tucked away underneath her pillow. All of her deepest darkest secrets lay within pages that were wrapped by a purple cover. The cover was soft and made of some sort of leather. The binding had lines from being held open. Each page had the etchings of a pen upon it.
Aara wasn't much of a writer, but there was something about telling her diary everything that happened in a day that helped her stay calm. It was also one of the only times in day that she was willing to tell herself what was bothering her. If something hadn't gone the way she planned or she had had a bad day she would wait until she got home to write it down. Keeping it bottled inside most of the day helped her to keep her happy domineer, and then when she finally wrote it down she could truly think about it after having some time to let it sit and boil away. The point was that she rarely told anyone, but the diary information about herself. Although she had just admitted to Frederic that she wasn't always honest with herself, it had never happened before. There was just something about Frederic that made her want to tell him what she was feeling and thinking. Not that he wanted to listen, though he was good at acting like he did. Intimate details were not things that people wanted to hear after just meeting someone.
This day had been weird and good in its own way. Weird because Aara was saying things that she rarely said to others and good because she was actually being honest. Honest was one of the hardest things that were ever to be said. Not only to be honest with oneself but to be honest with other people. The world revolves around peoples impressions of other people even if there were people who wanted to think otherwise. Frederic pointed out that it was easier to be blind to problems than to admit to them. "I don't see how we can expect the world to be this wonderful place of peace and love if we're not honest. I'll be the first to admit that it is impossible to go an entire day without lying to someone about something even if it is yourself." Aara had never understood the appeal of peace or how people thought that it was ever going to happen. Hippies went around praising peace and saying how good it was. Not even they could manage to truly be peaceful without being high out of their mind. It was humanly impossible to not lie. Even Fred someone who didn't seem like much of a liar admitted to having lied to himself before. "Good to know you really are human." Aara teased because she could tell that there was not a lot that Fred did wrong.
Fred went on to say that we all learn the hard way. How true was that? Nothing in life ever came easy and it always seemed like it was after struggling with something that we truly learned it. In the sense that if we ever needed it again we could come back to that. "All of life's lesson are learned the hard way." No one could expect everything in life to just be handed to them. Life wasn't fair and put us through as much shit as it possibly could just because it was fun to watch the people of the world suffer through things that they didn't understand. It seems as though everyone wants to change everything about everyone. "Why is it that we're too lazy to just go and find the person that fits what we want? It seems like we waste time on people who aren't going to do what we want them to do because we're too lazy to find the real thing." Aara knew that guys tried to change girls and that girls would do whatever it took to get that guy and then guys would leave because they got everything from the first girl. "Been there done that and I truly hope that I never do it again. If I do I hope someone slaps me in the face and tells me to wake up." Aara was tired of being the girl that changed for a guy. She wanted to be the girl who was in love with someone for who they were and that person loved her back for the same reasons. Was that too hard to ask of the world? To just accept people at face value. Take what you get or get out. That would be her new motto to live by. If anyone had a problem with that then they needed to open their eyes and see that she was on the right track. This was where everyone's mind set should be. Aara was glad she had come to this conclusion.

Looking away from problems wasn’t Fred style but he had to admit he did try to run away sometimes. It was much easier than admitting the truth or solving the problem. Some of them had hardest answers than the problem itself. Then he learnt running away or looking away wasn’t making things easier, and wouldn’t ever do. But for some reason it was on his nature or in every humans nature, to hide better than fight and he keep doing so from time to time. There was no doubt Aara and he had a connection, one that you don’t easily find upon a stranger you just met. Though used to talking to random strangers he had never got to that grade of intimacy they were heading to at such fast speed. That scared him a little, wondering if he was on his way to get hurt again. At first Fred had thought they could be good friends, then he had that urge of asking for another meeting, then they started to spill deep secrets… and he had wondered at some point where everything was heading. Aara seemed a good enough girl, sweet and caring who had a wall to protect herself, he could see she had been hurt.
The bitterness on her voice when she talked about boys and her relationships it was something he noticed and he wondered if she thought he was going to end up hurting her too. But she had opened up to him, something it had took her a great effort to do he could tell, and he had been amazed at the step she took. He knew he was good at making people comfortable around him but not that good. “You still believe in that? I gave up on that idea long ago and instead just handle what I got.” He said laughing, because she had just sounded like a pageant beauty for a contest. Fred didn’t believe in a happy peaceful world because it was an human world and humans were bound to destroy everything, even his own kind. He had seen too much of it, and it never stopped to surprise him how they could outdo their own cruelty. Fred laughed out loud when she commented it was good to know he was human, as if he had ever stopped being one. He wasn’t perfect; she just didn’t know him enough. “Well of course I am human, I make a lot of mistakes.” He said laughing; it amused him really, to think people had that image of him.
What she said didn’t make any sense. How could it be easier to change someone than go finding the person than fits you? “Well I disagree, it is easier to find the person than go through hell to change the one you got, knowing deep inside you are wasting time and effort.” Too much fights and tears and arguments and failure, he didn’t see where the easy part was. Of course the right one won’t come falling from the sky just when you wished it, but it was always easier than the other way. He frowned when she confessed she changed for guys, so she had been the one getting hurt and used. He disliked the idea of some guy hurting that sweet girl who was sitting in front of her, and promised himself he was going to take better care of her now that they were friends. “I guess we are all been there at some point or another.” He said, admitting he too had given in with some girls. “But now you got me and I’ll make sure it won’t happen again.” He said it in the friendly kind of way but kind of hopping he was going to protect her as something more than that.

There was no way that this conversation was anywhere close to being done. Too many things were being said. They had enough in common to continue to generate conversations, but they were different enough that they didn't agree which kept the conversation from ending after a few lines. The only bad thing was that she knew that they couldn't stay here forever. It seemed as though timed had stopped, but it hadn't really and they both had lives outside of their current bubble. Aara knew that eventually Frederic would have to leave. She knew that his schedule was tight and that he probably needed rest from a long day of practice. It was sad to think that she would have to leave and not be able to have this kind of conversation with another person that she would get to. All good things had an end though. Hopefully this wouldn't be the last time that they had a conversation like this. Aara knew that they were meeting up tomorrow, but that didn't mean that this was going to be an ongoing thing. For all she knew they could meet up tomorrow and find that this was all just a fluke. She knew that that was impossible, but the negative side of her couldn't help but think about it.
She forced her mind to move on and think about more positive things. Tomorrow was going to be fun, and if nothing else she had a great friend. Frederic didn't seem like the type of person that would hurt her so maybe Aara also had a potential relationship. Frederic was cute and nice and he entertained her. That and he listened to what she had to say instead of ignoring it or making her seem stupid although she knew what she was saying. He valued her intelligence. It encouraged her to talk instead of making her think that she should just be quiet. Frederic said that he had given up on the idea of peace. "I wasn't saying that I still believed in it. I was just saying that I don't see how people could believe in it. I can't put my believe in something that is that obscure." Frederic went on to say that he was of course human. "I was just teasing. Although I think you might come from a foreign planet, but that's besides the point." Aara enjoyed teasing him. She was glad that he laughed and didn't take her seriously.
He didn't seem to agree on her opinion of people trying to change things instead of going after one that's already there for them. He thought that is was easier to just wait for the one that was actually what you wanted than to try and change others. She understood what he was saying, but the way people think makes it so they feel like they can change a person rather than wait. "People are too lazy to wait. It might be harder to change someone than to just let them be who they are, but inpatients is a bad thing. They don't want to wait for the perfect person to arrive. Instead of waiting they put everyone through heartbreak." Frederic seemed to have been through some of his own heartbreaks. Aara knew that girls could be just as cruel as men, and that women did the same thing that men did. "It's easily avoidable though. I guess that's what makes me mad is that I knew it was going to happen and then I just let it happen." Frederic saying that he would treat her better made Aara smile. Never before had a guy told her that he was going to treat her well. Even if Fred only came to be a friend he would be one of the best friends she had ever had. "Well thanks. That means a lot to me. Nice to know that you'll be there. "

His lonely home was waiting for him, every time he thought about it he flinched a little. It was hard for him to go home and open the door knowing it was empty; no one was waiting for him there to greet him, no one to talk about his journey. Besides he needed to rest and stretch his muscles so they wouldn’t be sore the next morning. Fred was afraid to leave because what if he didn’t see her again? What if she wasn’t interested anymore and decided to not meet him? They were at the same school so it would be easy for him to find her. But he wasn’t the kind of guy that will follow a girl if she didn’t want to be followed. He was so very glad he had met her, now he had a chance to have something with a girl who at least understood him, or tried to. They didn’t agree on everything but that was good because they didn’t fight over it, they tried to see each other point. He liked to listen to her, hear her musical voice in his hears, and she wasn’t a nuisance; Aara was smart and had a very special way of expressing her opinions. “My bad then, didn’t realize you were meaning that.” He said shrugging his shoulders.
Fred laughed again, his mouth spreading in a wide smile as she said he was teasing him. “That’s what we boys think about girls.” He said teasing her back and went for another blush of her, as much as she hated it he loved seeing her cheeks with the soft touch of pink or the deep scarlet, depending on how far the tease had went. “But I think you are a down to earth girl, very pretty and with an amazing clear mind.” He knew his words would have the effect on her he wanted because he had played that trick on her before. She will look ashamed and pleased and annoyed at the same time, the mix in her face looked so cute that Fred couldn’t resist. “I come from Mars though, you wouldn’t like to see my alien form. I’m big and red, like a mad Hulk.” He said to distract her so she will forget her previous embarrassment. As much as he loved to tease her he also wanted for her to feel comfortable.
He frowned, his eyebrow pressing together as he tried to make sense of what she said, so far he couldn’t. Maybe because he knew how much effort and suffering it took to change someone and how futile the attempt always was. It had been unbearable painful to see how girls let go of him because he didn’t reach their expectations. “To be honest, that made no sense.” He said finally giving up trying to understand how minds work. “Not what you say but the way people think and work. It’s never easier or pleasant to try change someone, it takes effort and time and it’s always for nothing.” But she got a point, people wanted to change people, but not because it was easier, but because they liked that power over someone and because they wanted both the qualities of the guy and also the charming prince of the fairy tales. “You are smart enough to not let it happen again.” He said and he meant it. She gave the impression to be a strong, independent woman who didn’t need a guy to tell her how she was.
As much as he hated it, he needed to leave for the day. He couldn’t neglect his sleeping schedule because he needed his hours to be in good form the next day for the main rehearsal. Nerves clutched his stomach as he gave her a kind smile. “As much as I would love to stay here with you I have to leave, I’ll see you tomorrow at the rehearsal.” He said getting up and not knowing exactly what to do, should he give her two kisses? Or just say goodbye and leave? He decided to pick a pen from his bag and a paper and handed it to her with his mobile number on it. “There you go, see you tomorrow.” He didn’t want to say the word ‘goodbye’ because it sounded like the end of everything, and after all they were going to see each other in a matter of hours, next day everything would be the same, because he would make sure of that.
