Although Frederic had managed to get Aara out of her comfort zone a little it would take much more to get her to truly let him in. She just wasn't able to put faith in something when it had never worked for her before. It might sound odd, but Aara didn't really think that falling in love with someone was even possible anymore. Damage had taken a toll on her ability to believe in something that wasn't going to happen. Nothing that had happened in her past made her believe that she was ever going to fall in love with someone. Sure Fred and she had this great connection and he made her happy, but it was nowhere near love and she didn't think that it could ever amount to that. Sure they could have fun and mess around with each other, but getting to the point where they were anything more than a fling wasn't going to happen. Frederic would eventually find someone more entertaining and would leave just like everyone else had. Even if he said that he would be there for her it wasn't like he'd be there forever. Sadly nothing was forever and nothing would ever be forever. Aara wasn't exactly sure why she had thought of this at all, but it had come up and she rarely ignored her thoughts.
Frederic shrugged his shoulders and sort of apologized for not getting what she was meaning to say. "It's okay you wouldn't be the first person who didn't understand what I meant. Sometimes I don't even understand myself." Frederic's laugh was handsome. Aara wanted to say pretty, but well Fred wasn't a girl and you can't call a guy pretty. He said that guys thought girls came for a foreign planet also. He went on to tell her that she was pretty and down to earth. This made the blush that had been quelled for so long rise back up. Aara was flustered but it didn't bother her as much as it had before though. She kind of liked that he could tell her nice things and that she felt like she could actually believe them. The blush went away after Frederic said that his alien form was like a red hulk. She laughed after imagining what Fred would look like as a big red hulk. "That wouldn't be very flattering on you." Aara managed to talk after she had finished laughing.
Frederic's gears were moving in his head as he tried to process what Aara had said. She knew that it was hard to believe that people would rather go through hardship than to have to wait for the right person. Having been the person on the wrong end of the stick she didn’t like being changed and it upset her when they would leave after she put forth some much effort to try and get them to stay with her. Finally Frederic gave up on trying to understand it and said that it honestly didn't make sense. He said that the way that people work and think didn't make any sense. "Well hindsight is twenty twenty and people don't care what happens to the other person it's all about getting what they want when they want it and nothing more. They got a little while of the perfect person before they get bored and move on. People get bored it's normal." It was nice of Frederic to say that she was smart enough to not let that happen to her again. "Thank you, and I hope you're right." Aara wasn't afraid of Fred doing it but others would trying they always would.
Sadly it was time for Fred to leave. Aara had no other reason to stay here after he left so she'd go home and watch a movie or something. It would be hard to go home alone again, but she'd manage. She thought about calling her sister when she got back and seeing if she was busy and maybe she could talk to her about everything that was happening. Fred said that he would see her tomorrow at the rehearsal. She was still looking forward to that. It would be the most fun she's had since well a while. Today had been fun, but not in the same sense. Frederic wrote his number down on a piece of paper and gave it to her. "Yeah I'll see you then." Frederic left and Aara put the paper in her purse. She waited a minute before getting up and leaving. She took the time to reflect upon everything that had happened. It had been a good day over all.
