A promising night waited for her as she finished her makeup and walked to her wardrobe to pick what to wear. Theo was a good friend, more like an old brother figure to her than Alexei was; Theo protected her, cared about her and made sure she was fine. She had met him at his own club, one of the many she frequented when she was in the mood for a party and more than once she had been so trashed that he had to take care of her. She wasn’t ashamed of that, it was what it was and Anouk had no intentions of changing it. Bad habit or not she loved being in the spotlight, she loved her drunken nights and the feeling that she had the best night of her life when she woke up next day. Alexei could have been a very good brother to her if she ever saw him that way, but it wasn’t the case. And besides now that he knew everything he avoided her like the plague, not that she could blame him anyway. Shaking her head she spread a fake smile across her face to wave her parents goodbye, she was off for the night and in very much need of a drink but more than anything she wanted to talk to Theo. He was one of the few men that hadn’t tried to get on her pants, that listened to her and helped her without asking for something in return, and maybe that was the reason she saw him as a brother.
People threw looks her way as she walked down the streets heading to Theo’s club, she was so used to that she barely took notice of them. Occasionally she will wink to some hot boy or turn her head to check another but apart from that she walked with her head high and no traces of the depression that not so long ago had her on bed, blinds lowered, and eyes puffy red of crying so much. She had tried to refuse those tears, but in the solitude of her bedroom there had been no way of stopping them from flowing and she had finally given up the fight, exhausted. But tonight she was back not being herself, she was her party wild animal that took control whenever she dressed for the night; and it felt so good to leave the worries behind closed doors back home. She smiled to the bouncer at the door who didn’t even check her ID, she never had to wait to get into the club because the bouncer knew her very well and so did Theo. The club was packed as always and she had a hard time making her way to the bar. Guys stopped her to dance or invite her for a drink; she ignored them all not even bothering to turn them down. “Hey Theo. So, breaking guys’ legs on my account? Then I should warn you there is a very long list of them.” She said as a way of greeting, laughing and sitting on a stool and scanning the crow, not really in the mood to leave with someone tonight.
Theo didn’t know what happened between her and her brother, so Anouk might as well fill him in before someone else told him and the gossip became worst than it really was. “Can you fetch me… a mark seven?” Vodka, milk and blueberry syrup all mixed in a rock glass, not so strong but enough to start the night. She fidget on her seat feeling uncomfortable about telling him the whole thing, she didn’t want to open the wound but it was going to make her feel better having some support. “Might as well tell you that I spilled everything to Alexei, I confessed to him and I’ve been rejected in the most rude way possible.” She said looking at her hands for a bit to conceal her expression, then she raised her eyes and offered him a bitter and sad smile. It wasn’t how she was feeling right now, but she didn’t want to worry Theo with how bad she was feeling. “He is avoiding me and we are not talking anymore. I broke everything I had with my brother and I’m moving in with Cass.” Everyone who knew that she was moving always scolded her for it, no one liked that idea one little bit, maybe because they were too much the same. So she got ready for another scold and to defend Cass if necessary. It was going to be a long night and she hoped it wasn’t going to be filled with tears.

The home of Théodore Dion was a quiet place; isolated some may go to say but it was how it had been for many months now. While it was oversized and designed personally by himself, it lacked warmth and something of a woman’s touch. Since the moment his wife had walked out that door on the Sunday morning of February with their baby girl, he had made it his own mission to tear any lingering evidence of mother and child. The bedroom had been fully refurbished and the nursery had been reconstructed into a game room. If it had been so easy to forget about him and move on, then he would do the same - it was only healthy to do so. Lingering in the past wouldn’t do him any good and that was how he’d come across Nadya, the one woman he’d trusted enough to welcome into his home and slowly but surely, he was beginning to recognize a female presence in his home once again. Truthfully, the feeling was overwhelming but undeniably great. He was finally learning to let go.
The thoughts had hit him all at once as he stared out the ceiling to floor windows that overviewed the back of the house, showing off the few acres of land that he had bought when building the estate. That had been the initial plan, a big garden for the kids. ‘Pfft…what kids? The one she took away from me?’ The bitterness of his thoughts got the best of him as he casually undid the tie he had planned on wearing tonight. Normally Théo’s dress sense consisted of a pair of old slacks and a t-shirt. However, tonight he’d be spending it at the club and when he spent his time there, he made sure to actually look like the owner he was. Possibly the reason why he pulled out one of his suits and slipped it on after a pretty darn relaxing bath. Tonight was going to be good, he had a particular feeling, especially if Anouk was there.
If he was ever given a little sister, he was more than positive it would have been Anouk. It was her best interests he had in mind and while he was always caught up with work, he always had time for her, even on his busiest nights. Sometimes he’d find himself thinking about her at the oddest moments, sometimes when he was getting groceries and happened to pass by the alcohol section, picking up a bottle and immediately thinking ‘Maybe I should buy this incase Anouk decides to drop by one night.’ Because quite frankly, his door was always opened for her and he‘d made sure to make that clear to her everything they met up. No doubt he’d give her the speech all over again, just for old time’s sake.
Théo had driven to the club, which probably in the long run wasn’t the best idea. There was no way in hell he was spending the night with Anouk and not bothering to lift a glass. Oh well, he could always leave the car in the parking lott under protection. Being the macho man he was, driving fast cars was a hobby of his and his latest baby was no other than a Bentley continental gt, the one car he had his greedy blue eyes on since the moment he saw it and despite how bad it sounded - whatever Théodore wanted, he always had it. He considered himself ambitious and determined, the only reason why he had what he had today.
The noise of his club could possibly burst an eardrum but as Théodore entered into the hot spot for young adults, he took a swift glance at the watch that was latched around his wrist, he was early so he wouldn’t have to go on the hunt for the familiar brunette. Instead, he made himself comfortable at the bar and thankfully, for someone who had very little patience, Anouk showed up just on time and instantly drew him into conversation. “Believe me, the longer the list, the more pleasure for me.” His trademark smirk crawled onto his lips as he ordered her a mark seven and him, a dirty martini. Now that was a typical approach at the start of the night for them, just wait till later and the only thing they’ll be drinking is vodka like it’s water. However, hearing the news reach his ears, it was the last thing Théo had expected to hear. He was more than aware of all the feeling and secrets Anouk held and he was more than encouraging towards her feelings but to see them be flushed so easily infuriated him and with furrowed brows, he sparked up, “I hope he’s on the list so I can break his legs and then do even more damage.” With Théo he didn’t hold back on his feelings, if he loved you, he’d shout it to the world and if he hated you, no one could purchase an AK47 quicker. “I take it you’ve been in the shitter lately but you do know, just as I always say, my house is big enough for eight more of us.” And as the words slipped confidently out of his mouth, he leaned forward and cupped her chin, “My door is always open for you, no matter what.” Said he as he dropped his hand and turned to receive their drink, handing her the glass and raising his own, “To having the shittest luck in the world.” He announced loudly, receiving a few cheers as he clinked their glasses and flashed her a tiny smile.

Whenever she was feeling down she made sure to stop by at Theo’s club for a good night. Right now she was caught up in a very bad situation and didn’t want to drag more people into it, the damage was done but now she had to make sure no one suffered more than it was necessary. No one but her, because she always scolded Alexei for the very same thing she always did, carry all the weight on her shoulders without asking for help. She thought about her bag in her room, all ready for her to leave and start over again with Cass, but somehow she felt that if she took that step it would draw a new thick line. If she left Alexei for good then everything would be really over, and she always fought if there was hope; she wasn’t a skipper. Anouk was happy to have a reason to be out and this time she knew she would be safe under Theo’s care, there won’t be any wild parties, reckless shit or putting her life in danger. It was sort of comforting she could still have a place where she could be a mix of herself and the girl she was when partying; that strong carefree girl who didn’t give a damn about the world. And she didn’t have to pretend in front of Theo because he was the only one who fully and completely knew her. He was like a real big brother to her, and unlike Alexei he did make time for her even if he was packed with work.
A smile crossed her face when he said he would take care of them all with pleasure that was his way to show how much he cared for her well being. Anouk chuckled softly and raised an eyebrow at him. “Believe me, too much even for you.” Anouk wasn’t a girl who liked to boast but she knew very well the passions she raised as she passed by because it was all her doing. She worked very hard to get that kind of reactions out of guys; she wanted to show Alexei that even if he didn’t want her another one hundred men would gladly fill that gap. And well, what girl in the world wouldn’t like to have that kind of attention on her? It didn’t matter what they called her behind her back or at her face, it came with the title, consequences that were of no matter to her at all. But her smile quickly vanished from her face entirely as the hot topic of the week was brought up again. She didn’t like Theo’s reaction because it involved hurting Alexei, and that was the only thing in the world she couldn’t tolerate. “There is no need for that.” She said in a small voice. There it was all her brave face and her good front, gone to waste for good. She had tried to look like it didn’t matter, but Theo, as always, knew better than believe her mask.
Anouk rolled her eyes and offered him a smile as he said his speech for the hundredth time. Whenever they were together he always offered his place to her, remarking it was always open if she wanted to stop by. She knew that, but she refused to leave Alexei’s side, not even if he didn’t want her there. She remembered the bag on her bedroom, all ready to go but lingering there somehow. She hadn’t seen him or talked to him in a few days and that was killing and consuming the rest of her, those small little pieces that were left of her, but she knew her presence was enough, he couldn’t escape that. She titled her head to the side, feeling the warm hand of Theo on her chin, and gave him the sweet smile she reserved for her closest ones, that being Alexei and Theo. “I’m moving in with Cass for now, but I can’t stay there forever anyway.” And not because their relationship didn’t work, but because she knew he was out of his comfort zone taking her in, and furthermore, he expected her to go when things were fixed, Anouk knew better than to believe they will. “I can’t stay forever with you either, I will find my own place.” There was a small voice in her head that bothered her a bit, saying the real reason for moving in with Cass was annoying the hell out of Alexei.
She couldn’t imagine why she would take pleasure of that, when she never wanted to hurt him, but it was like some kind of payback for everything he had threw at her in the past few days and for the way he was acting now. She took a big gulp of her marc seven knowing the night will end with vodka or something stronger and smiled at the glass. “But hey, let’s stop talking about my stupid brother.” She stopped making a face realizing how bad that sounded, even for her. Since Alexei had asked her to see it from his point of view she had tried and to be honest she hadn’t like what she saw, she could understand him perfectly and that made the whole thing more painful. “How’s that you got a girlfriend and I don’t know about her?” She raised her eyebrow at him, trying to make it sound like an accusation but asking really more out of curiosity. She felt at ease when she was with Theo and that was a welcoming feeling, she felt as if she could really smile and make jokes and tease him a bit, she felt a bit herself because she was able to leave her troubles back home whenever he was around. “And I might really take your offer of being Lois if Cass doesn’t ask me out for Halloween night.” She said laughing as she tried to imagine the whole picture. There were two reasons why she wanted to do so, first one was making Theo happy and having a good time, but the second one was a tad more important to her: she wanted Alexei to see there was someone besides him that could make her smile that brightly. Like a guardian Angel.
