the blonde wasn't sure what she was going to do. she had all ready flunked- she was so sure of it!- her music theory test and she wasn't able to write a song for another class. she also had terrible stage fright, so she refused to sing in front of her class. she was sure that she was going to be kicked out for not being 'serious enough' and having bad grades. the academy didn't hold people back a year, they were kicked out. and what would she explain to her parents when she told them she had no where to go? the elections were taking place in a couple of months, and she was so sure that her father was going to win, which put even more stress on her. as selfish as it sounded, she hated her father being the prime minister. she hated the semi-royalty that went with it. she hated the media and the money and the parties that she had to dress up to go to. and she hated hearing and reading what people thought and said about her. it was horrible. she wasn't england's sweetheart, england's princess, or england's little miss perfect, or any of that. all she was was an icon for people to bash at.
the girl picked up her guitar and walked towards the studio, trying desperately to think up of something so that tomorrow in class she could do something to earn at least partial credit. the girl instead heard a soft guitar strumming, and who in their right mind would be up at ten o'clock at night at school? well, besides her. because she obviously wasn't in her right mind. the blonde knew that it was polite to ignore the sound, and go on with her own business. she decided against it and looked for the person responsible for the source of that music. the music stopped abruptly and her eyes saw a familiar brunette head. she wasn't sure if he was the one playing the music, but he did have a guitar in his hand. audrey gave a tiny smile and walked into the room, whispering in a quiet voice, hi david. she looked into the fourth year's eyes for a couple of seconds, but quickly looked away and gestured towards an empty seat. can i share this room with you?

David liked his time alone with his music. It was a time to reflect and feel and just work through his subconscious through his fingers. It had been a long day, so busy that he didn't have time to bother Kinley to take a break. Oh Kinley... he liked her a lot, but she wasn't one to have free time. he knew that better than anyone. So he went to the studio to play his guitar away from human noise and just think. He decided to stay friends with Kinley, she needed him as a friend right now, and he could live with that.
David had his eyes closed and was humming softly as he played, nothing specific, sort of making up a song as he went. But he heard footsteps in the hall and when a voice greeted him he smiled. "Hey Audrey," He said, opening his eyes. "Like I could turn a pretty girl away? Sure come join me." He said, patting the spot on the floor next to him. Aurdey was s sweet girl really, and talented but so shy when it came to her music. David was never shy, especially with his music. he just let it flow out of him. The world became him and the music. he didn't even think of the people listening. It had taken him a long time to really make that a reality though.
"You okay?" He asked, still playing softly. She seemed a little lonely and sad to him.

audrey had a crush, it was a small one, but it was still a heart wrenching disappointment when she realized that it would never work. alexei, anouk's older brother, was the first person she trusted with her past, and he was the only one who would know that (except for cass, but he didn't count). he was nice, funny, and sweet, and he made her feel special in that special heart-pounding, blushing, kind of way. just the way that he called her perfect and pretty and gave her compliments made her low self-esteem go up a little. she didn't realize that he was probably crushing on someone else. she expected it to be his assistant. the assistant that she helped him hire with the thought of 'being patient'. and he actually listened to her. audrey pushed all thoughts of alex aside, anouk needed alex right now. although they were mad at each other, they needed each other to get through the times. and with that, she should sacrifice some time and some conversations with him. but she still missed him like hell.
david spoke to her and call her pretty. she blushed red as she sat down next to him, she pulled out her guitar and then strummed a couple of chords, letting the music echo in the room. audrey saw him play once and a couple of times, and he was completely with one with the music. although she did love music, and she enjoyed it, she couldn't play in public because she was worried what people might think. which was why she played her exams in front of the professors. they were usually cool with it, but some were getting aggravated now. her thoughts were lost when his voice brought her back to reality. he was still playing his guitar, and it soothed her. she listened to some of the chords and the notes, and she joined in with him, playing in harmony. it wasn't exactly perfectly together, but it was still a pretty piece.
keeping one ear open to the change in the melody, she responded to his question, her voice different shades of emotions. i'm just really stressed out about school, but it's all right. how about you? her thoughts swirled through her head, it was just like her. rebounding the conversation to the other person while they were talking. maybe that was why a lot of people enjoyed being around her. she was a listener, and people who talked a lot enjoyed being around people who just listened. audrey kept playing her guitar, her fingers strumming and moving up and down the neck of the instrument. every once in a while she closed her eyes, but opened them back up again to find herself looking at david. she blushed, hoping that she wouldn't get caught looking at him. but he was attractive. it was a mystery why he didn't have a girlfriend yet, since he was attractive, and musical, and sweet. she stopped strumming the guitar, and then sighed. how do you do that? she asked, wondering if he understood. how do you just play in front of people like it's nothing? like it's so easy?

David smiled. School. He understood, there was a lot of pressure to do well and he knew Audrey was uneasy about it, about performing. "I'm alright, just got a lot on my mind. Nothing a little music can't help." He said with an easy shrug. he didn't want to go into Kinley or school or his family with Audrey right now. She was good company, why sour it? He smiled at her but noticed she had closed her eyes so he closed his too until she asked him another question. He was stumped for a moment, how did he do what? His eyebrows knitted together, puzzled but her follow up question explained it. David smiled softly. "Well, practice for one. But you just gotta play for yourself, not for them. And then the only listener who matters any is just you. Sometimes it helpd to close your eyes, you can be anywhere, image you're alone, just you, the guitar and the music." David explained. "It sounds corny, I know, but you just have to believe in yourself and throw yourself into it, become the music." He chuckled slightly and shook his head. The spotlight was a tough place for some people, people like Audrey. David didn't mind it either way. It was just a light. "Here, just practice, play something, anything." David said, stopping his strumming and closing his eyes. This way she could play for an audience with hopefully less pressure. He wasn't sure why he was taking it upon himself to help all the women around him these days. maybe he was just a nice guy and that was that.
