Dustin continued looking around until he heard the voice of Shane on the walkie talkie. Boarded up church? Smirking a little, the older brother broke out into a run, heading there. Oh, once this guy was caught, Dustin would beat the crap out of him for pestering poor Frost. And being so difficult to catch. Grinning slightly, he headed over and thought he could get the guy first. But he was mistaken as he watched Shane tackle him down, punching him in the face. Dustin gave an angered sigh. “Shane! What in the hell, I told you to wait for me!” he called out, tackling down the other man as he stood up and tried to get away from Shane. The Wheeler brothers would have to work as a team on this one.
As the two men struggled, he felt a fist collide with his face which made him punch back. “Shane, help me get him down! Get his legs.” he said, feeling another fist hit his face. The older man didn't feel the pain of it, but he did feel the trickling of the blood. He thought about Frost and his brother. Those were the only two people he felt like he needed to protect. Even if Frost was just his client, he felt the need to make sure he was safe. He had never really felt that way before, and only Shane knew the truth.
Once he felt his brother grab the other man's legs, Dustin began to make sure his hands were secure and unable to move to check the person out. Yes, this was him all right. Grinning evilly, he looked at Shane and nodded, only to get pushed away slightly and punched again. Ok, he had to admit. That one hurt.

AND IF I GO CRAZY THEN WILL YOU STILL CALL ME SUPERMAN?if i'm alive and well, will you be there holding my hand? Shane sighed lightly and stopped hitting the guy and grabbed the man's legs as Dustin requested. Now wasn't the right time to fight with Dustin, they had to work as a team. But Shane was angry, he was babied. His father had abused him, he acted like a kid, and his brother wanted to keep him there. Shane wanted to be a man in his own right, to make his own choices.
The term blood brothers was starting to have many different meaning for Shane. Brothers by blood, they both had blood trickling down their faces, or their knuckles... Was this the family legacy? Violence? Is that what their father had taught them. Shane sighed softly, his grip involuntarily relaxing. The guy kicked and caught Shane in the ribs, causing him to stumble back. The perp shot up and tried to get away.
Shit.
Shane lunged for him and missed. The wind was knocked from his lungs and his face was starting to throw. "Fuck."

Dustin held onto the the man tightly. But then, Shane had blood on him and so did he. It was perfect for the two brother's albeit bad. However, Shane relaxed and the man not only hit Shane back, but Dustin as well. Dustin shook his head before getting up and attempting to tackle the man down, or started to. His younger brother shot out and missed. “Dammit!” the older mad cursed. Just then, he looked down at his younger sibling and helped him up. “Are you all right? Dammit...he got away...” he said as he looked in the direction of where the man ran. It would be no use now since he had seen the guy climb the fence and run off.
Well, that was it for that day. Looking at Shane, Dustin shook his head. “We will get him next time....meanwhile, I have to get a hold of Frost and let him know what happened. Dammit....” he said, kicking the dirt. Blood still trickled down his mouth and head, wounded from the fight. He didn't worry about himself. It was his younger brother he wanted to get patched up before him. “Come on, let's get home so we can clean ourselves up.” he spoke, his voice gruff and scratchy like normal.
The older man limped slightly as they walked back to the fence and started to climb over it. When they got into the car, Dustin reached in the back seat and handed Shane a paper towel to at least clean up a little. Looking at his younger brother, he felt suddenly horrible for letting him come along. 'I shouldn't have let him come...'

AND IF I GO CRAZY THEN WILL YOU STILL CALL ME SUPERMAN?if i'm alive and well, will you be there holding my hand? Shane sighed and walked back to the car looking like a sullen teenager instead of a grown man. He was mad the guy got away, mad that his brother insisted on treating him like he couldn't take care of himself. It made him think of a quote he'd heard some girl say at school in psychology class:
"If you do for me what I can do for myself, you confirm my worst fears."
Shane took the paper towel and dabbed blood off his lip and touched the tender spot under his eye,and then his ribs. Nothing felt broken... That was good. He caught Dustin's eye and could see the fear and regret in his face.
"I'm part of this team too ya know, I'm not some baby you have to look after. I know you think you have to be my parent, but I hated dad, so stop trying to be him." Shane said before he rope himself in. Shit. Hopefully he wouldn't ask why he hated their dad. He looked out the window.

Dustin gave a heavy sigh as his brother did the same. The older Wheeler brother only cared about protecting his younger brother as they had grown up. And he was extremely protective over him even if he was a grown man. To Dustin, it didn't matter to him. He wanted nothing more than to just make sure his family was safe. The male continued to drive, glancing at his brother slightly and watching him dab his face with the paper towel. Shane spoke, and Dustin's ears caught the one thing he didn't want to hear most. That his younger brother hated their father. Biting his lip slightly, he turned on the radio and just continued looking away. He didn't want to pry in his brother's past. Because it seemed horrible.
“I am not trying to be like Dad, ok? I am just extremely protective over you because you are the only family I have left. And I don't want anything bad to happen to you. Ever, all right?” he said with an exasperated sigh. His feelings were coming out, and he hated that. First with the whole liking Frost ordeal and now with the whole protective thing with Shane. When could he ever get a damn break? He looked down at his phone slightly, thinking about when would have been a good time to contact Frost about the male that they were trying to get for him. 'Maybe I will go to his cafe when he is at work. That would be best.' he thought.
That was the end of the talking as the two brother's sat there in silence for the long ride back to the agency. And their home.
Notes: we can end now <3
