Alec had paced the halls of the dance studio hoping to find ideas for his new project. Choreographing had always been one of his strong suits, he could usually pick the first song he heard and dance until his hearts desire, but here it just wasn't the same. Maybe it was the fact that he was still in the process of learning French, or maybe the fact that he had spoken to a grand total of two people since he had gotten to France, one of which being the woman at the only bakery he had gone to.
Alec liked to think of himself as a "lone wolf" of types, but he really needed to speak to someone besides his instructor and the woman from the bakery, who just felt obliged to speak to him. Finally he had enough, he was not going to get any farther in the cramped dance studio with the same movements and the same music, he needed something fresh, something new. He pushed open the doors and walked until he saw another studio.
Reading the sign that translated into what he was thirty percent sure meant music studio he shrugged and decided to step in. Once inside the building he took a deep breath of fresh air, although he was still technically at La Lumineuse he was no longer in the cramped studio, and he felt good enough being able to say that.
He rubbed his now cold hands together and walked a little further down the hall. With each passing door came a rush of new rhythms, he smirked still looking for his muse, but feeling like it was very close. Where would be better to find the perfect song than a dance studio?

Ross sighed as she held the sheet music to Defying Gravity from the Broadway Musical Wicked. The music program was doing it for the school, and the young girl had somehow ended up with the part of Elphaba, the main character of the whole play. This to her was great. But she really didn't want to have her skin painted green. The young woman just guessed that if she wanted to keep the part, she had to wear the make up. 'At least I am the star....I wonder why that is so....' she thought, not really paying attention to if it was her turn. Which it was and she was kicked slightly by the student next to her. A pretty blonde girl who ended up with the part of Galinda. She smiled slightly and looked to see the teacher looking at her. Apparently, it was the time for the song. Standing up along with the blonde girl, they made their way in front of everyone. It was then Ross got into her Elphaba mood and looked at the blonde girl as she said her lines.
“Elphaba – why couldn't you have stayed calm for once, instead of flying off the handle!” the girl spoke, but then she began to sing angrily. “I hope you're happy! I hope you're happy now. I hope you're happy how you hurt your cause forever, I hope you think you're clever!”
Ross gave the blonde a well trained and practice look of anger as she answered back to the girl with the lyrics that went with the lines. “I hope you're happy! I hope you're happy too! I hope you're proud how you would grovel in submission to feed you're own ambition!”
Then, the two came together in once voice, Ross singing lower than the blonde to harmonize with her. “So though I can't imagine how, I hope you're happy right now....”
The two continued to sing to each other, Rosslynn finally began to get into the role of Elphaba. She felt her pain, her anger, and finally her feeling of freedom.

Alec had been hopping along for a while hoping that his muse was not far away until he heard one of the most beautiful voices that had ever entered the ears of Mr. Alec Sumpton. He rushed over to the door and once he was closer he tried to pay it a little cooler and slowed down. He was not sure how he would play it off, but he was sure he would be able to while still keeping his bad-boy image in tack.
He turned by the door frame and pressed his back against the wall. After taking a few breaths he peaked in the door to see two girls practicing a familiar play. Trying to decide if he would interrupt the two he shrugged his shoulders and decided to walk in silently wandering if he would be detected by the two.
He rounded the corner and sat on a near by bench and closed his eyes humming very softly listening to the two sing. Feeling his back against the cold wall moving up and down as he was breathing he felt the most at peace as he had felt since his feet had touched French floors.

Rosslynn put her script down as did the other female. They knew the next part. It was all smooth sailing from here. The other girl began to speak finally after they paused and looked at each other. The other girl's voice was sad, yet strong. “Elphie, listen to me. Just....say you're sorry.” she spoke and reached for Rosslynn's shoulder. The brunette was silent as she listened to her singing partner started to do her part of the lyrics with a clear, innocent voice. “You can still be with the Wizard. What you've worked and waited for....You can have all you ever wanted-”
Ross pulled away and took a few steps to get away from the girl's touch. She spoke and her accent was laced with her words like velvet. “I know...” she said, quiet yet still audible to the other students. It was then she noticed a male come in to watch their practice, however she paid it no mind. Her voice began to sang gently to the soft music playing in the background. “But...I don't want it- No.....I can't want it....an.....y.....more......” her voice carrying her last word in a long, descending note. It was then they brunette paused and looked at the others in the class, and the male who had recently entered. But her eyes gently went back to the girl playing as Galinda. Her voice began to escape her lips quickly and excitedly, just as Elphaba would have felt in that moment.
“Something has changed within me....something is...not the same. I'm through with playing by the ru...les of someone elses ga...me. Too late for second guessing, too late to go back to sleep; it's time to trust my instincts. Close my ey....es and le.....ap!” she then smiled and step forward, looking up at the ceiling slightly. “It's time to try defy..ing gravity! I think I'll try defy....ing gravity!” she then looked at the blonde. “And you can't pu...ll me do.....wn!”
The blonde stepped forward and grabbed Rosslynn then, trying to speak to her in song. “Can't I make you understand? You're having delusions of graduer-” But again, 'Galinda' was cut off by Rosslynn singing. The brunette pulled away and stared at the young blonde as she sang.
“I'm through accepting limits, cause someone says they're so.....Some things I cannot change, but till I try I'll never kno......w! Too long I've been afraid of losing love I guess I've lost. Well if that is love...it comes at much to high a co......st!” she slowly faced the audience again and smiled happily as she thought of how Elphaba would have felt. “I'd sooner bu......y defy....ing gravity. Ki...ss me goo........dbye, I'm defy...ing gravity. And you can't pull me down...”
The brunette then took the blonde's hands gently in her own and spoke to her. “Glinda...come with me! Think of what we could do.....together.” she said, then singing to her co-star gently. “Un....li....mi...ted. Toge...ther we...'re un....li....mi...ted. Toge..ther we'll be the grea...test te...am there's ev....er been- Gli...nda. Dre....ams, the way we pla....nned 'em.” she acted as if she was trying to bribe the other girl into 'joining' her, just as Elphaba did in the Musical. The blonde girl smiled and sang in the most gentlest voice ever. “If we work in tan....dem.”
Then the two came together again in harmony. It sounded beautiful to Rosslynn's ears as their voices melded together into one. “There's no fight we cannot wi......n, ju...st yo.....u and I defy...ing gravity! With yo....u and I, defy....ing gravity.”
Then, Ross finished the sentence powerfully, yet gently. “They'll never bring u....s down!” The musician looked at the girl beside her, holding hope in her eyes as she spoke eagerly. “Well? Are you coming?” However, the blonde girl shook her head and let go of Rosslynn's hands. The other girl than sang sadly. “I hope you're happy; now that you're choosing this....”
In return, Ross spoke sadly. “You too.” Then, she sang back gently. “I hope it brings you bliss.”
And the two came together in one voice again, for the final time. “I really hope you get it, and you don't live to regret it! I hope you...'re ha...ppy in the e.....nd; I ho....pe you're happy.....my....frie........nd!”
Then the teacher nudged Rosslynn to pick up the prop broom and climb to the top of the pillar thing. She stood at the top and sang with all her might, powerfully. “So if you care to find me, look to the western sky! As someone told me lately: “Everyone deserves a chance. To. Fly”! And if I'm flying so...lo, at least I'm flying free to those who'd ground me! Take a message back from me, tell them how I am defy...ing gravity! I'm fly...ing hi...gh defy...ing gravity! And soon I'll match them in re...no.....wn!”
She then spoke and looked around the people looking up at her. “And nobody, in all of Oz. No Wizard that there is or was is ever gonna bring.....me.....down!”
The blonde smiled and sang to Rosslynn. “I hope you're ha...ppy!”
She continued the note as the other's in the choir sang their part. “Look at her, she's wicked! Get her!”
Rosslynn continued to sing happily. “Bring...me....down!” And the others responded back, “No one mourns the wicked, so we got to bring her-” They crowded around the slightly tall pillar and listed as she sang the final lyric. “Ohhhhh!”
Finally, the others in the play sang once more and held the note until the end of the song. “Down!”
After the performance, the teacher clapped and released them. They all put their sheet music up and Rosslynn climbed down from the pillar to put her stuff away, a smile on her face. She got her stuff and started to head out the door.

Alec flicked his head to his side and watched the citizens of Oz skater about the room. Once he noticed the girl who's voice that had captured him earlier head toward the door he felt himself move toward the door without even trying. He smiled shyly, he had finally found his muse, of course he had to try to play it cool though. Once he was standing in front of the pretty brunette girl he smiled and introduced himself, "I'm Alec, first year, dancer."
Hoping not to embarrass himself he decided that he shouldn't say anything else, he tended to embarrass himself around girls when he let himself speak for extended amounts of time. He studied the girls face waiting for her to reply. She was obviously pretty but she also had a bright am whimsical spirit about her, he imagined this emotion he had felt portrayed with a series of dance moves, oh yes, she was definitely his new muse, and hopefully his first friend here.
Another smile crept across his face as he let his imagination fun free for a while. After a few seconds of his he returned back to earth and refocused eye contact to the girl in front of him.

Rosslynn was stopped with the most beautiful man with gorgeous brown eyes stopped her in her tracks. He introduced himself and she blushed slightly. She titled her head slightly. “I'm Rosslynn.....first year...musician....nice to meet you.” she said, her Scottish accent laced with her speech strongly. Never in her life has she met a guy who looked as gorgeous as her disappeared boyfriend, Connor. 'No, don't think about that right now, Rosslynn. Connor left.....disappeared....and he won't come back.' she thought slightly as she smiled pleasantly to the male before her. Alec was actually a really nice name. But she wouldn't let that get to her. Looking at him slightly, she felt as if her soul could be sucked into his eyes if she stared to long. So with that, she turned her head away. The young woman started feeling slightly nervous about being around Alec, but knew this would most likely be good for her.
Clearing her throat, Rosslynn began to speak again. “What brings you to the Music Studio? Not many dancer's can be found here.....Mainly because music student's run around in this room...” she said softly. Gently, her feet shifted a little as she held her red book bag closer to her. It had definitely been a while since she interacted with a male. Other than her brother Archer of course. But that was a different story. She looked back to the handsome male as she tilted her head. Not one to be extremely nervous, she was worried. What could this mean? It was like when she had met Connor, then she remembered everything that happened. And now he had completely disappeared.

"I'm in search of a muse," Alec said spinning around on his heels quickly. "The dance studio gets pretty cramped with sweaty kids, here is a much more... refreshing," he said smiling as the last word left his mouth. He looked over the girl one more time.
"Don't worry, I won't be stealing any solos any time soon, I'm almost pain wrenchingly tone deaf." He laughed quietly and smiled again at the girl
"Would you mind giving me a tour? I don't know the area very well," The boy continued, this was a lie of course, he hadn't been here very long, but the time that he spent here had been spent roaming the halls of the school. He could practically roam every studio while blindfolded. But he let the words leave his mouth before he could stop himself.
STOP TALKING ALEC STOP TALKING! He repeated to himself over and over. YOU'RE GOING TO EMBARRASS YOURSELF VERY SOON IF YOU DON'T STOP TALKING!!!

Rosslynn raised her head lightly, nodding in understanding. That made sense she guessed, since he was a dance student and he needed muse to dance. Music was the best thing for him then. She listened to him speak and held her bag close to herself nervously. She watched his eyes as he looked over her and she blushed. What was his deal? Why was he looking over her like that. The young musician smiled softly as he spoke about being tone deaf. Maybe that's why he seemed to look the dancing type then. “Thank goodness you know how to dance then....” she said, her accent strong as it was laced with her words. The only time her accent wasn't as noticable was when she was singing. But that was fine, she loved her voice whether she was singing or not.
He asked her if she would give him a tour. Biting her lip a little, she nodded slightly. “I can give you a tour if you want. No problem there.” her voice was soft and gentle, like a soft gentle breeze during the Spring. But, she didn't notice any. Slowly she walked past him and out into the hallway. The young brunette looked back at him and tilted her head slightly, her the waves in her hair caressing her cheek lightly as her pale skin turned a soft pink color. “Follow me....”
She began walking down the hallway slowly, looking back to see if the male was following her. It was strange that someone had taken interest in her like that. Maybe it was all in her head. Of course it was. No one could like a girl like her.
Could they?

Alec blushed back when he saw the Ross noticed he was looking her over. He almost felt like he should apologize for being so impolite, but he felt like that would be too awkward. He watched her as she spoke and tried to capture her essence, he had indeed found his muse, she was perfect. He closed his eyes and imagined himself dancing using her as a muse, it was, of course, breath taking. Once she told him to follow her he did.
"I like your voice," Alec said following closely behind Ross. He watched her hair flow behind her like water. He closed his eyes and listened to her speak. Opening them again shortly after to see where she was going. "So, what got you into singing?" Alec asked curiously. For some reason he was feeling strangely talkative. He usually didn't speak much around people, especially if they are female, attractive females.
He remembered what had got him into dancing. His father had always loved sports, they celebrated Super Bowl weekend like a national holiday. When he was growing up they always watched the game, he would sit in front of the TV and try to bend down in the kneeling position like the players and almost always ended up in the splits. His father at first thought this looked painful but then thought it was funny. During the half time show Alec always danced around with the show, this of course made his whole family smile and laugh. Now that he thought about it, it was the only time that he had made his father smile with something he actually did.
He forced a fake smile across his face as this bittersweet memory went through his head. Alec wished he had never asked her this question, because he figured she would ask the same. As he followed behind her he began dancing to take his mind off the frustration. Alec always loved to dance, even while walking.

Rosslynn smiled softly as they began to walk down the empty hallways of the school. The young man complimented her voice and it made her blush a deep red. Biting her lips slightly, she smiled a little. “Thanks....” the young musician replied to him, looking at Alec slight to see if he was still following. Smiling a little, Rosslynn looked down at the floor. Why did she start singing anyway? She thought back to a time when she was tormented and hurt by her father. She started singing for him. So he would love her more. Sadly, that never happened. Sighing gently, she stopped walking and stared at the ground. “My Dad. I wanted him to....love me more. No matter now, I am singing for my own wants now.” her voice laced with the Scottish accent said to the male.
Rosslynn looked at Alec again and tilted her head a little as she seen the smile on his face. Frowning slightly, she turned away, starting to walk forward again and pointing out the different classrooms on the top floor of the school. “That is the writing classroom.....That is the Recording studio. Of course you have already seen the Music classroom....These are the stairs.....that is the Music Teacher's Office. That is the Writing Teacher's Office....Those are the restrooms.” the brunette started listing off coolly, letting her accent run of her tongue like a gentle breeze on a spring day. It was normal for her to be able to tackle with her accent clearly enough for the other person to hear her. It was her voice that captivated Connor. And she was captivated by his. Her sparkling brown eyes were dimmer now than those days when she felt love, hoever when she sang it was as if the light had returned just for those moments.
Turning back to the male, her chocolate colored eyes met his. “What floor would you like to see now?” she asked, blushing softly as she looked away. She couldn't fall in love again. No way no how....
Right?

..Just.. ..dance..
"Whatever you'd like to show me, I'm game for anything." Alec smiled again, a little more authentically this time. He wondered slightly how Ross' family was, noticing the light slowly fade from her eyes as she spoke. She had seemed so much happier on stage singing, this almost saddened Alec until he remembered that he was the exact same way with dance. Hoping that he may be able to one day show her he smiled and said, "Hey, can I take you to my studio now? I want to show you something..." Realizing how much he could actually like her as the worse left his mouth. Painfully remembering Texas, often times referred to as the place where he had left a piece of himself that he was afraid would never come back.
Returning back to earth he looked up at Ross' chocolate brown eyes and smiled, forgetting himself again for a second. "My dad doesn't exactly know I dance," Alec said nervously rubbing the back of his neck, "he thinks I'm in Paris for some sports scholarship playing football." He pushed back the feeling as he swallowed the lump that had formed in his throat. His dad had always been his hero, and it pained him to realized that he would never be good enough.
He looked up again at Ross feeling sad that he couldn't fully enjoy her presence because of his running mind, he had been getting better, but for some reason he felt the feeling resurfacing again around her. Retracing his thoughts back to dance he smiled again, hoping that his muse would help him, this was something very special that he was going to share with her, Alec often times danced in groups or with certain people, but it was a very rare occasion when he wanted to dance for some one, in their honor, and this was one of those times.

Smiling softly, Ross continued her way down the stairs to the third floor of the school and looked around. But, just as she was about to tell him what was on that floor, he asked her if he could take her to the Dance Room. The young brunette blinked but nodded softly. She had never been there before. It was almost like a foreign place for her to be at. Almost as if she were and alien in a whole different world. Biting her lip softly as they went down farther and farther to the lowest level of the school, Rosslynn became nervous. Why, though? He had got to hear her sing, maybe he would repay her with a dance. She listened to the male talk about how his father didn't know he danced and how he thought that Alec was in Paris for a football scholarship. Well, at least Alec had a place to go home too.
Sighing softly, she looked away from the dancer. “I'm not allowed to ever go home....” she said softly, walking with him to the Dance Studio slowly. She held her books close to her chest as they strode down the halls together. All was silent for the moment, giving Rosslynn a chance to think about what exactly was going on right now. Here was this really attractive guy who just randomly came up after class, spoke to her, and asked her to give him a tour of the school. Then, they learn about each other just slightly only for Alec to take her down to the dance studio.
Now here they were, side by side going down the stairs towards the Dance Studio. No one else in sight. She felt slightly nervous. Since she didn't exactly trust him.
Hopefully it would end nicely.

Alec fell silent when Ross spoke, he imagined not having a home, until he realized nether did he. "I...I... don't have a home here..." He closed his mouth and looked at the ground. He suddenly felt a strange connection to the girl, they were both orphans, she hd no home and the real him wasn't welcome at his. He wanted to grab her hand at that moment more than anything, not necessarily for romantic reasons, well not ONLY for romantic reasons, just so she would know that they had each other.
He imagined the world spinning and the two just standing still as the world spun around. Once his attention had returned to earth he found himself in front of his favorite practice room. "We're here," he smiled down at Ross excited to show her this special part of himself. He hopped into the room and found the CD's that he had hidden in the room.
Placing the CD in the radio he smiled up at Ross and let it search for the right song. Song 2 on 'Alec's Favorite Song Mix.' Drop In the Ocean- Ron Pope began to ring through the room and he smiled. Taking a moment to let the rhythm ring through his mind he began to dance around the young girl. Praying silently to himself a little bit that Ross would like the dance that she was seeing, since it was so special to him.
Alec's dancing may look like this...

Rosslynn frowned as he spoke. He didn't have a home in Paris? Then, where did he go when he was done with classes? For sure he wasn't staying on the streets! Oh, the brunette didn't like that at all. She wanted to tell him that he could stay with her. But would that be such a good idea? She did have four extra rooms in her place, in case her siblings wanted to come over. There was plenty of room. And she was rather lonely despite having two cats in her home. She felt him take her hand and Ross looked at him, blushing a little. It was then her heart took over. She couldn't let him live on the streets. “You can come stay with me. I have plenty of room in my apartment.....You will have a big bedroom and your own bathroom. And there even have three other extra rooms. One is for my music office where I write and sing......but one of the others can be where you practice since they are that big. I will even pay to fix it up like the Dance studio. Just....come live with me, I can't stand to know you have no where to go to stay warm.” she said gently, meaning her words. But then she thought of her precious cats. “The only thing is that I have cats. Two of them. As long as you don't mind them, then you will be fine.” Her smile then was gentle and true. Hopefully he would take her offer and stay with her. They had arrived to the Dance studio and he led her in. She smiled and looked around, reminded of when she took dance when she was a child because her mother wanted her to. The place looked just like this. But, she couldn't help but put her eyes back onto Alec as he got the radio ready and it began to play a song she recognized. Then, her chocolate orbs watched the brunette dancer as he glided around her in a dance. She felt instantly mesmerized by his movements and by the second verse, she started to sing. It was as if their worlds became one and it was only them in the world. Not once did she think that Alec could even hear her. She didn't care. Her voice melted with his movements and she felt for once since Connor left, a whole. Rosslynn loved the dance, but even more so she loved singing as he danced. She felt one with the stranger she had just met earlier. “I don't wanna waste the weekend, If you don't love me, pretend. A few more hours, then it's time to go...As my train rolls down the East Coast, I wonder how you'll keep warm. It's too late to cry, too broken to move on. Still I can't let you be, Most nights I hardly sleep. Don't take what you don't need from me. Just a drop in the ocean, a change in the weather. I was praying that you and me might end up together. It's like wishing for the rain as I stand in the desert, but I'm holding you closer than most, cause....you are my heaven....”Her voice rang out in time with his movements. But what was she saying? No, she couldn't fall for him. 'Don't fall for him.....don't ever fall again.'tag: alec words: over 500 i believe notes: what she is wearing

..Just.. ..dance..
"Yeah, that'd be great, you don't have to go through all that trouble, I don't want to intrude." Alec said shyly, thankful that he would be no longer be spending his nights in whatever street corner was least occupied tonight. He remembered his past few weeks snoozing near the cross dressers and the local prostitutes of Paris, yeah, he definitely would not miss that. As he walked hand and hand with Ross into the dance studio he smiled whole heartedly.
As he danced around the singing girl he felt sudden bursts of energy he grabber her hand in the middle of the song, "may I have this dance" Joining in with her singing he sand softly under her voice hoping that he couldn't hear his voice, since he was sure she would hate his voice.
"Misplaced trust and old friends, Never counting the regrets, By the grace of God, I do not rest at all. And New England as the leaves change; The last excuse that I'll claim, I was a boy who loved a woman like a little girl. Still I can't let you be, Most nights I hardly sleep, Don't take what you don't need, from me. Just a drop in the ocean, A change in the weather, I was praying that you and me might end up together. It's like wishing for rain as I stand in the desert, But I'm holding you closer than most, 'Cause you are my...." Alec said holding out the last word avoiding a romantic moment. Before the word left his mouth he closed his mouth and widened his eyes for a quick second before he looked straight down at the ground sadly remembering the relationship in Texas that left him afraid of love, and he wasn't sure he would be okay with this opportunity to fall again.
