Cori walked into the crowded room, alone. She held her chin high, and her shoulders back. She wore a mask, covering her face. The only thing that anyone who knew Cori would recognize her by, was her hair. Cori had gone all out. She had a gorgeous dress on, a fancy mask, and...combat boots. (What? She had to have SOME Cori in this outfit!) You may be wondering "Why Cori? Why are you dressed up like some crazy doll?" The answer is simple: Don't judge a book by its cover. Cori Ansell was a harcore bitch who loved insulting people and playing tough, but inside, she still wanted to be a girl. Cori loved dressing up. She dressed up as often as money and society would allow. And a masquerade was one of her most favorite things of all. She glided across the floor, hoping to turn heads and stop traffic, her hair in a mild updo. People who didn't know her would certainly never recognize her. People who did...would be shocked. But she wasn't worried about that. She just wanted to find some handsome boy to dance with, and forget about all her craziness and worries. She had a clutch with her, and in it, she had her cell phone, a few essential items, cash, and her calligraphy pen. But where was her journal? Cori had sneakily tucked it into a secret compartment built into the bodice of her dress, just in case she needed it. It may sound crazy, but some people were just too horrible to deal with in person, and there was always the possibility of something going wrong.
But for now, she would have faith in humanity and hope nothing went wrong. Usually, Cori would have a problem with people being too close to her, or with someone initiating physical contact. But somehow, dances were different. The atmosphere was safe and inviting, and it was easier when you didn't know who people were. Of course, some people weren't wearing masks, and that was just fine for them. But she had gone all out, and she didn't give a rat's ass if someone didn't like it. She was gonna have fun if it killed her.
