---------------- PERSONALITY ---------------
LIKES, mi sun moon, goose, korean cuisine, writing, poetry, reading, people watching, lazing about, goofing off, singing in the shower, sweets, listening to music, wandering about, arguing, not doing his work, watching movies...
DISLIKES, daisies, flying, dogs, being serious, losing, bright colors, idiots, know-it-alls, apple juice, being touched by people he doesn't know, sharing, most teachers/professors, wannabe-asians, dancing, imperfection...
FEARS, flying
PERSONALITY,
When someone first meets Duck Young Kang, they may think he's a lazy, idiotic, know-it-all brat that doesn't know when to shut up or that he spends too much time playing and not enough time working. That's because he wants to come off as a care free guy that tends to get into trouble and doesn't mind a joke here or there. He's loud, loves to laugh, and can get along with most people when he tries. However, this is just part of Ducky. Behind all the silly remarks, goofy gestures, movie quotes, crazy nicknames, and impossible analogies... The boy, to put it simply, is a genius. He has a photographic memory and the ability to retain knowledge like an endless glass of water. He was raised in a very strict household and being any less than perfect was unacceptable, which is probably why he acts like a complete idiot now. His father trained him to be extremely observant and Ducky has a grasp on how to read people by their expressions or certain habits, which is why he loves to people watch. He also uses this talent and applies it to the characters in his stories. Despite his very lazy ways, Ducky absolute lives to read and write. It's the only things he really puts much effort in to.
However, no matter how hard he tries to not be the boy his father raised him to be, there are certain impulses he just can't help. Like the fact that his blunt mind can never run through a filter before leaving his mouth. Ducky will always tell you exactly what he's thinking if you inquire about it. No matter what it is. Even if the question is rhetoric. And if he thinks you're wrong, you better believe he'll call you out. He hates know-it-alls but he'd be damned if he wasn't one.
Though, he is rather social now that he's grown out of his little shell. He doesn't enjoy being touched by people he hardly knows but that doesn't mean he dislikes humans in general. He is loyal to his closest friends only, however. When it comes to everyone else, they might as well just be acquaintances in his book.

---------------- HISTORY ---------------
FATHER, joo chan kang
MOTHER, yeong park
OTHER FAMILY, mi sun moon and goose
HISTORY,
Duck Young Kang was born into a very strict family. His mother was highly intelligent and fluent in multiple languages and his father worked for the police and was previously in the military. Because of that, his parents expected nothing from him but the best and because he was their only child, he had to be perfect. Throughout the first half of his life, Duck was very studious and quiet. He kept to himself, worked hard on his grades, and learned everything his father taught him. He had a photographic memory and his family took full of advantage of that. Joo Chan, expecting his son to follow in a warrior's footsteps, taught him how to be a pristine army man. From a young age, Joo Chan would challenge Duck Young to hone his observation skills and people reading. He taught his son how to calm himself when being interrogated in case he would become captured out in battle. There were no limits to his father's dictatorship even though it was very obvious to both Yeong and Duck Young that he was not going anywhere near the army.
When Duck Young was eight years old, the school he attended to a field trip to a park. There was a girl with a gimp legs and, as the saying goes, boys will be boys and children will be children. Many kids had picked on that girl and Ducky was no exception. However, he had a limit. He noticed a few boys slip food into the girl's dress. He was going to say something when a very hungry goose started to attack the poor girl. Acting quickly, he did the only rational thing he could think of and that was to throw rocks at the bird until it left her alone. She had ended up being his very first and very close friend. Mi Sun Moon was two years older than Duck Young but that didn't stop him. Having being raised by his family, it was no surprise when he skipped two levels and entered the same class as her.
The more he knew Mi Sun, the more rambunctious he grew. His family was not pleased with it but he didn't seem to care. They grew up together and Duck Young was not going to let her leave him. He even based a character off of her in his first suspense novel to be published. So, together they chose to come to a prestigious school in Paris despite Ducky's fear of flying.
