The Notes yay London! It felt strange for Rae to do something so… out of the ordinary. She wasn’t an ordinary girl, but well… setting off with a guy who was on the run from his fiancé was something she never thought of doing. Yet here she was, packing her stuff on a fancy hotel in London and getting ready to head out so Zeke could show her the city.
Rae felt this was wrong, that she was being careless and the chances of her ending up hurt were… immense. And yet she was smiling at herself in the mirror as she pushed her fiery red hair back in a ponytail and finished up grabbing a messenger bag and her camera. She looked like such a tourist… what a fail. Well it was never in Rae to be glamorous or trendy and she guessed Zeke didn’t befriend her for her astonishing good looks [/sarcasm] so it was alright. Dashing to the elevator she had to make a swift turn backwards in order to close the door and then back again towards the elevator. She found herself humming the annoying tune that would probably get stuck in her head all day long before the doors opened and she sprinted towards the door where Zeke said he’d be waiting to show her the city.
“I’m here! Sorry I’m late. You know, a girl needs some time to get ready… meaning I couldn’t find my beany so… you’ll have to deal with walking with a redhead.” She playfully stuck her tongue at Zeke while tapping her own hair. “So? Where are we going first?” Rae was so ridiculously excited about this ‘escaping’ trip thing that it was almost scary. She was also a bit afraid of Alaine finding out and like… going after her or something… but the paranoid thoughts could stay at the hotel, just this one time. |

for a long time, zeke lived his life thinking that there was no such thing as love. he had grown up in a house where his father became ill with cancer and he was the one to take care of him, because on the side his mother was falling to pieces. he had been so strong for so long that his walls had never fallen back down again. he had never learned that it was possible to love some one. he had taken his emotions and left them with his father and mother, six feet under. he constantly cursed his mother for killing herself and doing it in the place he would find her. he cursed his father for leaving his mother in a world that she couldn't handle without him. but when it all came down to it, he just wished that they had been lived. that they had both stayed alive through it all.
then he had met rae. the only girl that he felt completely open with. the only girl that he felt his emotions were reacting towards. it was hard for him to tell how he felt sometimes, because he had gone so long with not feeling, that he didn't know what it was like. but as he stood there in front of the mirror, a black shirt, black leather jacket, and nice jeans, he couldn't help but to feel happy. happy that he was here. happy rae was with him. happy that for once in his life, he was going to be able to show some one where he grew up. he walked to where he had told her to meet him, and stood there. she was slightly late, honestly he got worried that she had ditched, but then there she was. he smiled at her and shrugged slightly, as if he hadn't been nervous that she was late.
"you're fine. i understand." he turned and started walking, but waited just long enough that she could understand that they were walking, and looked at her. "well, i was thinking i could show you around. show you where i grew up." he hadn't told her that he had planned on showing her his past, and he was a little curious as to how she was going to react.

The Notes feel free to move rae around as you please, after all zeke is showing her around ;3 Rae never thought London would have such a different feel to it. The city felt somewhat like New York, her hometown, but at the same time it was a little bit more… refined, elegant even. Not as high class as Paris but it was still a good feeling that Rae found herself enjoying. The air was colder than in Paris so Rae found hugging herself a lot more often than before. It still felt good to be here, to get away from stuff even if she didn’t have much to get away from. She was there for Zeke really, to serve as friend and to support him in his little escapade.
Being the type to get easily distracted, Rae’s blue eyes were glued to a shiny building which still held Christmas decorations despite the fact the holidays were done for. It took her half a minute to notice Zeke was walking and leaving her behind. “Whoops! Sorry! Bad habit!” She apologized as she ran to his side and started walking at his pace. Zeke hadn’t explained to her why he wanted to come to London, of all places. He just mentioned it was his hometown and Rae just assumed he felt homesick or something. Learning that he wanted to show her where he grew up came as a slight shock and Rae couldn’t help but smile shyly. “See? There you go again, making me feel special. You’ll have to stop one of these days, or I’ll get too used to it.” She punched his arm playfully as they continued walking. “So it’s a trip down memory lane huh? I’m really curious to see the place where you got the inspiration for your first songs.” Rae was also curious to know what made Zeke the man he was today. Everyone said he was an asshole, and sure, Rae had seen his asshole side once before but she still couldn’t bring herself to consider him a bad person. She just wanted to know what circumstances would make someone act the way he did, and she was very glad he trusted in her enough to tell her.
“Do I also get to picture a little Zeke running down the street in his brand new red tricycle?” She wrinkled her nose up at him in a playful way, trying to break the serious mood. “I’m sorry, bad joke. Well I’m all yours… take me wherever you please.” |

the way that zeke watched rae, many would say that he was so in love with her, but zeke would argue that they're just friends. that he was just merely protective over her, because he knew about her past. when zeke had found out about what had happened to her, he had promised himself that he would show her his past. show her that he knew how it felt to have a bad past. show her that he cared about her enough to open up to her. show that there was something to him that made him an asshole. his excuse for being a jerk to everyone. everyone but rae. he looked at her and nodded his head, actually letting out a chuckle. "it's okay," he said, "my tricycle was actually blue. when i was little, i hated the color red because it reminded me of blood." and that was the truth. ever since he was little, red had been his least favorite color. his favorite had been black, but that was because that was the color of his first dog.
zeke turned a right, and then a left, and one more right, and then he stopped in front of a house. "this is where i grew up." he muttered, staring at it. he hadn't visited it in a while. it was almost hauntingly big now. he glanced at the big tree in front of the house and said "that right there," he pointed at the tree "was where i wrote my first song. my first song was ''here comes goodbye'' that rascal flatts ended up singing. i wrote it the day my father found out he had cancer." he glanced up and said "i actually fell out of that tree a couple times." zeke looked down at rae and smiled, wrapped an arm around her and turned to walk down the street.
"this street is actually where i learned how to ride my bike. i was three when i learned. my father wasn't the best teacher, but i eventually learned. my mom thought it was hilarious watching us trying to do it. i still have the video she took of us." he looked to his left and briefly mentioned his childhood best friend that had lived two houses down from him. "he actually inspired a couple songs too."

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: dddddd; border: #cccccc solid 8px; width: 420px; padding: 15 5 15 5px;] WHEN THEY'RE IN LOVE, DOES EVERYONE GET THIS LONELY? The Tag: Derk & Zeke! The Notes RAE WAI U MUST LOVE ZEKE -creys- London’s streets felt different from the ones in New York. Perhaps it was the company; Rae was used to walk around New York with security guards her father insisted on imposing on her. Yes, she felt protected, but it was hard to stop by a store and try some new bras on with a six feet guy guarding the door. Plus, it wasn’t like she could ask their opinion… She felt safe in these streets as well, and for Rae that meant a lot. Being with Zeke made her feel alright, safe, happy… all those things that clearly meant she was in love. It was kinda sad though, Rae was aware that Zeke didn’t return her feelings and it was still alright. Rae felt that type of silly love that made her want to be there for Zeke, even if he chose to go to someone else. He needed a friend right now, not a lover, and if a friend was what he needed, Rae would be the best friend he could get.
Following Zeke close as to not get lost, Rae let out a little and soft ‘oooooh’ when he mentioned this was his house. It was beautiful, to her at least, and it seemed the place where a perfect family could live. This had been far from perfect for Zeke though, just like they had been far from perfect for her. It was just proof that life could be a bitch sometimes. “Your first song and it was a hit. You really are something." Rae mused aloud while smiling at the image of a little Zeke falling from the tree. She was caught a little by surprise when Zeke wrapped an arm around her but smiled at him nonetheless.
“Three years old? What are you? Some… genius? When I was three years old I was busy trying to figure out how to make my Fisher Price play set work!” She chuckled in a light hearted way while pushing Zeke playfully. “Thanks for showing me this, and for trusting me enough to bring me along.” Rae never lied or joked when she said Zeke made her feel special. Not every day someone classified as an asshole showed her his hometown and his memories and Rae wanted to save this moment in her own memories, in a special place. “Say, how about you show me where such a fine gentleman like you studied? I bet you wrote a song or two about highschool girlfriends.” Rae teased him again, but still curious to find out what other things inspired Zeke to write. |
