She is happy-go-lucky and carefree. But, there is one thing about her that surprises the people she gets close to. She is mute. And no, it's by choice. Psychologically, she was put in certain situations where she wished she hadn't have spoken so she didn't hurt someone. Ericka is blunt when she wants to be, and that often hurts others. She also talks back to her parents. So, instead of doing that, they wished she was mute. And now, because of that hurt she felt, she decided never to speak again.
Other than that, people see her as a happy girl. But, then again, other things that are surprising to most people that get close to her. She is very self-conscious. As well as depressed. Although she doesn't show it. Her view point is not to bring people down with her emotions. So she never let's people see her true self. Music is her life and although she loves to sing, she is scared to make her voice heard.

HISTORY, Ericka Anderrose was born in Nashville, Tennessee to a large family. Of course, her parents had kids with other people as well as one together before her. So, this meant she had several half siblings and one whole. Being the youngest, she was often spoiled and had her way. However, things changed once her mother and father began to argue. See, Stanton Anderrose was a hard working man with a secret. He was having affairs with other women. He often used Ericka to win the hearts of those women and leave the poor child alone. It was often after church, where he would tell his wife he had to help them with maintenance and repairs. Ericka was three to five years of age then.
As she grew up, her siblings departed. At least other than her two older brothers. She often annoyed them, being as how she was the younger of the three. When she was ten, she was alone in her home. Since the older brothers had moved out after a while. But, then she was left with her three nephews and taking care of them. Feeling as though she raised the boys herself, Ericka was emotional when her sister took them away. Though, on and off, her sister would return and leave the boys to poor Ericka. Who was swamped with other emotional issues. Like being bullied in school and her parents fighting constantly.
However, in her fifth grade year she met a girl. They became quick best friends and did everything together. They were inseparateable at school, especially during lunch. However, the bullies just got worse as they went into middle school. They often called Ericka lesbian, because the way she dressed was not typical for a teenage girl to dress. Often wearing tennis shoes, t-shirts, and jeans. Ericka was at best described a tomboy, and no one understood except for her best friend.
Off and on throughout her life, she had to move away from ehr home and to her sisters. Her father was often threatening to do awful and horrible things to her mother. All because her Mom had met someone named Darren Creyton. Now, Darren was a nice man. Ericka guessed the reason why her father disliked the guy was due to the fact that the other man was African American. During the times she was living with her mother at her older sister's house, she would visit her father for a weekend. But, something happened that she would never forget.
See, Stanton had been talking to Darren Creyton's wife at the current time. The woman had called while Ericka was visiting her father when all the drama happened. In a matter of seconds, her father was yelling at her and drilling her on if Darren had been over there. Of course, during that time, Darren was just a friend to her mother. Which, in Ericka's mind, was fine since her father did the same. But, that night, her life changed dramatically. She told her father off and before she knew it, he was cussing her out. By the time all was said and done, he had told Ericka that he wished she was mute. And she fulfilled his wish.
Returning home after that weekend and not talking had surprised as well as worried her mother. Though, the young girl would never tell, she hid behind the real sadness she felt with a smile. The two went back to Stanton's house and Ericka went back to her old school, reunited with her best friend. Only the blonde girl she cared for so much could get Ericka to speak. Only even if it was two or three words at a time.
Much to the young woman's dismay, her parents had gotten a divorce shortly after their return. Then, in the middle of her eighth grade year, her best friend left. It was after that year that Ericka had stopped talking completely. She felt she was better off mute anyway without her friend.
During her high school years, her mother and herself had moved in with Darren Creyton. Shortly after that, her mother and Darren had gotten married, which gave her four more siblings. However, not all was paradise. Her older step sibling was horrible to her and often stole her things. But Ericka didn't care. There was more to life than petty things like that.
Recently she graduated and the family moved to Paris so Ericka could study in the music program. However, what could was music when she wouldn't even talk?
