HISTORY, missy was born the second child to jean-claude and ann-marie in the small country town of texas in queensland, australia. missy learnt how to ride a horse when she was five and took part in cattle musters at the age of ten, she did school through distance education and took a fascination with motor bikes when she was eleven. missy’s father brought her a dirt bike for her twelfth birthday, missy rode it everyday and ended up going into dirt bike competitions. she quickly won her competitions and soon went on to travel around the world with her mother at her side riding in competitions, by the time she was fourteen missy was well known all over the world for her bike riding and when her parents divorced on her fifteenth birthday it was very public because of missy being in the limelight. missy didn’t let her parents’ divorce stop her from riding and competing, it just made her more determined to do riskier tricks while riding.
at the age of seventeen missy traveled to america to compete, the competition was televised and there was a large crowd watching at the track. during one of missy’s stunts her bike didn’t land correctly and she was thrown from the bike, missy hit the ground hard and a second later her bike hit her. she was rushed to hospital in intense pain. at the hospital missy was told she had broken her back, had a collapsed lung, both of her legs were broken from her hips down. her left shoulder was shattered, her right arm dislocated and she had an extreme case of whiplash as well as a cracked skull. missy spent eight months in hospital healing and spent five months in rehab, missy had to learn to live with pain for the rest of her life and the scars that now littered her body from all of the operations she had to go through whilst in hospital. her mother couldn’t cope with the fact her daughter wasn’t ‘beautiful’ anymore and sent missy to live with her father and brother tiger in paris, missy was still well known and was regularly send fan mail but she had turned her back on the sport and had hidden all of her trophies. while in paris missy applied to join la lumineuse and she was accepted.
