When Brian Alvey was 15 years old, his mother not only kicked him out, but disowned him as well. All because he came out to her as gay. From that point forward he dedicated his life to helping others in the same situation as him. In 2008 his dream finally came true when he was able to open the Brian Alvey Academy, a school for Lesbian, Gay, Bi-sexual, Transgender and Queer students. A safe haven for teens who were thrown out on the street, chased out of their schools, and who all in all need help so that things can indeed get better. For the kids, it really is a place where they don't have to hide their true colors. Despite the fight for equality, the Acadamy requires its students to be LGBTQ, and its staff to be at least an ally. RULES | FACE CLAIM | ADVERTISEMENTS
