A relaxed relationship would always be boring, that he knew because everything he had with Anouk was fast paced, dangerous, edgy and just made him want her even more. It was different in comparison to all his previous relationships, which were slow and boring, and relaxed, so he was glad their relationship wasn’t like that. He of course, could have done without all the arguments but arguments were inevitable in relationships, if there was a relationship with no argument whatsoever, even if it was over something little and silly, then Alex would have definitely liked to see that relationship because relationships always had some sort of problem. He was sure that their relationship would have problems even after their marriage too, not big problems but problems like what colour they should paint the walls, or why they both had to keep working all the time or just the little silly stuff that people spoke about. Their marriage would be great, he was already sure about that by now and he was sure that she was going to be eager to make their relationship work as hard as he would be working. Laughing, he nodded his head. “Alright, alright, I’ll stop going on about it, but you would look stunning in a white dress…after all, you look stunning in everything.” Smirking at her, he let out another one of his content sighs; she was always making things great for him.
A small apartment was good for now, mainly because Anouk was still a student, and he wasn’t earning that well with the gallery even though sales and expeditions were selling like hot cakes, but that was only just in the past month so he would have to wait and see what would happen. A small apartment was needed because Alex loved the simple life, he didn’t need a massive house with so many bedrooms and bathrooms and a garden the size of a parking lot just to make himself happy, as long as he had a roof over his shoulder he was fine with it all. Nodding his head, he laughed once more. “I’d probably even join you in the sunbathing and we should definitely have plants.” Their patio, covered with little plants like flowers and hedges to make it look beautiful; it would be a great thing for the both of them and he was very sure about that. The more they spoke about it, the more he believed that they would do it and the more he realized that they were actually going to get everything done probably once they were back in Paris from Sydney. Nodding his head understandingly, he rubbed her arm. “Yes, but she’s trying to seem like a good person to you, I think that’s why. Just give her a chance and what not and I’m sure you’ll never really have to converse with her that much anyway.” Smiling he pecked her cheek and nodded his head reassuringly at her.
Laughing he nodded his head and linked arms with her. “Then we shall eat and party while the night is still young.” Laughing he waited for the path to be cleared behind the groom and the bride and Alex found himself walking behind Anouk as she held his hand and walked towards the house where the groom was already waiting. Once they were inside, he shook hands with Anouk’s father. “Congratulations sir, the service was brilliant.” Smiling, he held onto Anouk’s hand, even though there was nothing to worry about Anouk’s father not approving of them anymore, Alex was still the type of guy who worried.

Alexei wasn’t complaining though about how things were going in their relationship so she should take that as a good thing. Anouk wanted to light a bit their relationship, though being always on the edge make things even more intense and passionate, it could be really burning at some point. She was sure though that after the hiding and major arguments were done for good everything would be normal, not boring but balanced. That was something she never had in her life, she was always out of balance in everything she did but art, lately her muse had been on her best and she couldn’t stop drawing and painting all the time. Most of her art was inspired in her relationship and the deep red of the rose Alexei had given her the first night they were together. Time had gone by and that illusion, that happiness they felt hadn’t faded away at all, even if they fought and things were difficult. Living together was such a big step, such compromise, but she believed in him and their relationship working out, Anouk wasn’t afraid. “It’s not going to be one of those big fluffy white dresses that make me feel like a cake if that was your idea.” She said laughing; she was going to keep the dress simple at least, because she had the impression the wedding was going to be everything but simple. She was just trembling imagining it all.
But it made him happy and whatever made him happy made her happy too so Anouk wasn’t going to complain at all. She was keen on the idea of a small apartment, a place for just the two of them. Honestly they didn’t need much, though with the money her father sent to her and all they could probably afford more she was happy imagining a small place full of paintings everywhere and smelling of him. “That would be great, you and me sunbathing in our home, painting and being free.” Yes, Anouk loved the idea; she couldn’t wait to get it. She wrinkled her nose at him, not really liking the idea of giving the woman a chance. She didn’t really mind her; she just didn’t want her to get into her business and act like a mother, she didn’t want her to try hard. “I’ll try for him and for you.” She closed her eyes when he kissed her cheek, just such a small contact made her so happy, sent her heart racing and making flips, skipping beats and everything. It was just so perfect them being together. She looked at him surprised when he said they should party, Alexei had never been a fan of it. “I never thought I was going to listen to you say that.” Once they were inside the house they congratulated her father who just nodded and smiled muttering a ‘thank you’ because he was really busy with the party things.
“What did I tell you about the ‘sir’ think kid?” He said with a smile and looking over his shoulder all the time waiting for his wife. Anouk sighed, and squeeze his hand wishing to be out of there before she arrived. “Go have fun on the party and don’t forget to talk to your aunts, they are dying to see you.” Anouk nodded, not keen on the idea of talking to her crazy aunts. They always had the best way of embarrassing her and she hated that, well not hate but in front of Alexei that was something she didn’t want at all. “Let’s go Alexei, let’s leave the newlyweds alone.” She said laughing teasing her father.
