Anouk had missed the beach, the salty air, her feet feeling the sand, the soft murmur of the waves crashing. It had been a lot of time since she last was in one and things had certainly changed a lot. Nude color plastic folder chairs were alinged to make an aisle, an arch of elegant white flowers decorated with some lace at the end of it. Her father was like her in many aspects, he liked to keep it simple. Anouk was sure this was a wakeup call, something her dad would do; it was his way to tell her time goes by faster than she believed and that there were things that were meant not to be missed. In simple words: marry Alexei and be happy. She was allergic to that kind of commitment, she had been to all kind in the past and her mind had started to come around only recently. This had been Anouk's dream wedding; a white sanded beach, a beautiful red and orange sunset, her in a simple white dress and the breeze playing with her hair. It had been until her parents divorced and everything went to hell, she had lived more with the idea of no marrying than doing so. Was she supposed to give into the only thing she wanted to avoid the most? Just because her father and Alex had made her think it wasn't so horrible. She sighed, watching the waves’ crash with a hint of sadness in her eyes and smile. Maybe she was supposed to do exactly that and her fate has already been decided, after all she could picture herself now going down that aisle with Alexei waiting for her.
Shaking her head she tried to push them back but it was too late, she had seen it and now the image danced behind her eyelids and around her head almost as if it was mocking her. Once her mind had ideas of that kind she knew her mind was set, her choice was made and Anouk knew she was going to marry him; In a future, a very distant future and as simple as it could be, something very small and quick. She had grow up, big white fluffy weddings weren't in her plans anymore, she had no intentions of going through that at all, and she wanted to at least get her way in this detail. It shouldn't matter right? As long as they got married. She cringed at the word; she couldn't understand why Alexei would want more pressure in their relationship, it was hard enough the way it was but well if he so wanted it then she would just go ahead with it and hope to get it over with quickly. She sighed again, taking a deep breath and bracing herself waiting for Alexei to come down the beach, the time alone was making her good though and her surroundings were calming her down. Anouk wasn’t keen on the idea of her father getting married, with a chick which was… nice but dumb and well a tad too younger for him but that was her dad and she had to roll with whichever he decided. Catching some random straight of hair that went out of place she walked toward the shore and picked up a conch from the sand.
It was a dream wedding really, everyone would kill to get married at a place like this and her dad had some taste picking scenarios, well he was a photographer after all and he hadn’t get famous for nothing. She looked around herself, waving at people that were getting to the place and chatting, sitting on the chairs, sighing she walked to meet Alexei at the back door of her dad’s house. Only in Australia and a few other places you could get your house so near the beach and to be honest it was an amazing place to settle down. She shook her head, too many weird ideas fluttering around because of the atmosphere. Looking down at her dress Anouk wondered if it was alright; she had spend days looking for the right one with Scarlett and though gold and champagne was a good color for a beach wedding with a sunset and a background. She had also wanted to leave Alexei breathless so one of those days she had been dress hunting alone with the company of a coffee she had found it. It had cost and arm and a leg and of course daddy’s money had paid it, her Marchesa strapless organza short dress that was appropriated enough for a wedding and would leave Alex drooling over her. She laughed softly at the thought and waited for Alexei to get there waving to more people and trying to look as if this whole thing really made her happy, she still had her doubts.

It was slightly amusing that Lenny didn’t seem to need his help when organising the wedding, but when it came to just a few hours before, he hadn’t really lost his cool but he told Alex that there were quite a bit to do. So with the help of some of Lenny’s friends, Alex had been up at seven in the morning, putting out chairs, making sure that the marquee was up just in case of rain, trying to make sure that the aisle was at a perfect angle. It hadn’t taken them that long, well only about two hours and the sweltering heat that was coursing through the area of Sydney they were in made it all the more difficult. But Alex didn’t mind because at least he was doing something than living like a freeloader and watching others get ready for the wedding while sitting down and waiting for Anouk to get ready. It would only really take him about half an hour to get ready; doing a quick fifteen minute shower, towel drying his hair quickly, putting his clothes on, shoving on some aftershave on himself and then he would be ready. It was as simple as that but he had no idea as to why girls took so long to get ready, it wasn’t as if the eyes would be on them; he eyes would be on the bride as well as the bridesmaids because it was ‘their’ biggest day. To a girl, nothing else would be bigger than their wedding day, as well as to a boy. Even if men never really showed emotions on that day except for a wide smile as they saw their bride walking down the aisle; it was obvious that the day they got married, when they were legally bonded to one another was the best event of their lives.
While he took a shower after the hard work that he put into the wedding preparations, he went inside, missing Anouk because she was getting ready herself. Going in to the bathroom, he took a hot shower, his muscles relaxing due to the calming scents of lavender and apples, which was weird because it was never calming but Alex was a ‘best man on the side’ sort of person, so he would have to walk down the aisle and anyone who knew Alex would know that he didn’t do well in front of crowds. One of the good things was that he wouldn’t have to make a speech, it would be Lenny’s Sydney friends that would do that. Well…he hoped. Because this really wasn’t a traditional wedding, people weren’t dressing all out to try and out do one another, it was just simple yet elegant. He wouldn’t have minded a wedding like this, but he was more of a traditional guy, he would have loved the best friend speeches, the long white dress on Anouk and the vicar in front of them with the vows; but Anouk wanted it simple so he was probably going to try and give into her…though he might try to persuade her to try it. Marriage was one of the events in her life that she didn’t want to go through at all, whereas Alexei would have loved to; it was a mission and a half to try and get her to agree that marriage with him would be better than marriage with any other guy in the world.
Getting out of the shower quickly, he towel dried his entire body and came out with it wrapped around his waist. Grabbing another small towel, he ran it through his hair, shaking out all the wet particles that were in there and began to change quickly. He was actually wearing something casual for a wedding, just last night Scarlett had thrown the cufflinks and tie at him saying that he had to match with Anouk’s dress because the both of them were a couple and that people had to know. He smiled at the idea and put his converses on, very casual for an actual wedding but it was a beach wedding and he was sure that no one would care because it was meant to be casual and fun. He spent about a good five minutes in front of the mirror trying to fix his tie, but Alex was never the sort of guy to ever wear a tie at all. He gave up in frustration and left it hanging loosely by his side as he put in some cologne, rubbing it against his wrists for a second before going down the stairs to look for Anouk. He was sure that she’d be good with a tie. Smiling and waving at people he had no idea who they were, he walked outside of the house and began to look for Anouk when suddenly he bumped into someone. Looking down at the person to apologise, eh suddenly realised it was Anouk and his eyes widened a little as he took her in. His mouth slackened, became dry and his heartbeat started to increase. “Oh sorry dear…you look...you look exquisite.” Finally he let out a nervous smile and he leaned forward to peck her on the lips. He kept his eyes on her for a few more seconds, drinking her in, her exposed flesh, the way the dress perfectly fit into her curves…she was just gorgeous. Then he realised why he was there and his mouth went into an ‘O’ shape. “Oh, do you know how to do a tie?”

Anouk had refused to participate in everything that had to do with the bride, she had allowed her friends to take over that and she had refused also to be one of the bridesmaids. Her father, knowing how she truly felt about this all never pressured her into it. She wasn’t bad, that woman, but tried too hard and Anouk didn’t need a new mother at all. That had given her more time to get ready, she had been in the shower a good deal of time, bathing with her milk gel and her strawberry shampoo and then styling her hair. She had wanted her face too look velvety and soft without imperfections so the day before she had put a lot of effort cleaning her skin and covering it with creams and products of all kind, makeup did the rest. She had tried to go for something simple after all and not a long night dress, the wedding was a bit informal but girls never went informal to those kinds of events. So yes, it was the bride’s day and everything but Anouk had something she needed to do, a mission with her dress and it was to lure Alexei a bit into the dark side. She hadn’t bring herself to use the lingerie she had bought back in Paris, because well, it was clear that Alexei didn’t want to be dragged to the dark side… yet. Though he had expressed his wish for her to take the lead, and maybe she was just going to do that.
There now waiting for Alex in the beach, with the sun setting slowly in the horizon, the smell of the sea and the sound of the waves crashing down, she thought it was time to take a bit of control. When she got tired of waiting and more people started to take their seats Anouk sighed and went to look for him, bumping into someone. She looked up to apologize to discover in front of her was Alex. And the reaction that she had been waiting for was there. She laughed at his face, so… well wordless and impressed. She loved it; all the word was definitely worth it just to have this reaction out of him. “Thank you love. You look really handsome, stunning.” Alex could rock a suit, like seriously; he was just amazing, perfect, handsome, yummy enough to eat. It was as if he had been born to wear them; there would be no one who would look better in one of them, no one. She took him in and laughed at his messy tie. “Sure I know, let me help you.” She approached him helping to do the tie and settling it neatly in the middle of his shirt. Anouk had done quite a few ties in her life, well as much as she had undone them.
Being the girl she had been had its perks though she was sure Alexei wouldn’t be so thrilled to know how she learnt to do them. “Let’s go get to our seats, people is arriving already and I have the feeling today I am going to be smiling and saying hello to a lot of people.” Her father couldn’t keep his mouth shut, he had told everyone about her and everyone was curious to meet her. For a social butterfly like Anouk that would have been just another chance to exhibit herself a bit and also introduce her amazing boyfriend around but taking into account this was his wedding and she didn’t quite agree to it, she didn’t feel like talking much. With her mother had been different, she had time to get used to the idea, she hadn’t tell her a few days before the wedding, she knew Carine had a steady man and that they were dating so the wedding was just another step. Her father didn’t even tell her he had a girlfriend, probably because he knew she wouldn’t approve of her. Lacing her fingers with Alex’s she walked toward the chairs and sat on one in the first row, sighing. Might as well get this over with, and she didn’t plan of letting go of Alex’s hand at all during the whole ceremony.

It might have been slightly upsetting to Lenny that his daughter didn’t want to be involved with the wedding preparations; it was sort of obvious that Anouk didn’t like his fiancé as much as he did. For Alex he really had no preference about the woman, she wasn’t better than his step mom and she wasn’t worse, she was just another friend to him and she seemed nice enough that she would keep Lenny happy; it seemed as if the both of them actually did love each other anyway. The way that himself and Anouk loved each other, the woman was fine, nothing to dislike over. He was a little disappointed in Anouk’s reluctance to be a bridesmaid or to get involved but he didn’t say anything to her because he knew that she didn’t like the girl, after all he had sort of been the same when his father and Anouk’s mother married; he felt as if he didn’t need a new mother, so why should he be so hypocritical about this? He didn’t want her to suddenly blow up on him about being so and didn’t want anything to go wrong, they were having a fantastic time in Sydney and he didn’t want to ruin it by telling her that she should at least get to know her step mother and like her quite a bit; there really was no point in fighting over something so trivial; she was still a child (sort of) and children didn’t get over something like this very quickly. He was sure that Anouk would take years and decades before even thinking about liking her new stepmother.
It was weirdly surprising how quickly the day went pass because a few seconds ago, to Alex, it felt like early morning but now it was sunset and he really didn’t think that there was any other beautiful time to get married at the beach than this. The sun was slowly turning into an oozing orange, bright rays hit everyone and each place in the area of the wedding, blinding some accidentally and warming everyone up once more. And Anouk just looked fantastic with the sunshine hitting her back, creating a dark silhouette around her and making her pop out more because of the gold dress that she was wearing; she was simply and perfectly gorgeous. He was trying to hide his reaction but how could she when she was just simple stunning. Rolling his eyes, he let out a chuckle and nodded his head. “Thank you very much.” He wasn’t even looking at her face, his eyes dropped down to check the rest of her out, he really couldn’t understand how he could stop himself from attacking her in the bedroom because the urge to just kiss her and be with her right there and then was far too strong. Picking up his neck a little so she had a better access to his tie, he locked eyes with her and smiled. Once she was done, he looked down and fixed it down, “Thank you very much dear.” He didn’t know how she knew how to do up ties, it was embarrassing that his girlfriend could and he couldn’t even though he had worn a numerous amounts of suits in his entire life.
Putting his fist to his mouth, he coughed into it a little and then removed it, smiling back at Anouk as she began to speak. Letting out a laugh, he nodded his head, planting a hand on her shoulder. “It’s alright, you’re a sociable person anyway, I’m sure you’ll whiz through it.” Leaning towards her, he placed a kiss against her neck and sighed. Anouk was always the social butterfly, and even though she didn’t like any of these people all that much, he was going to make sure that she would enjoy herself, even if he had to sit her down, look her in the eyes and tell her to let her hair down. He on the other hand, didn’t like socialising with people much and he knew it was going to be difficult for him to start up a good conversation when he met someone and was given the label ‘Anouk’s boyfriend.’ Placing his hand in to hers, he gently squeezed it and began walking down towards the first row with her, sitting in his seat just beside her. Leaning towards her as they sat next to each other he whispered. “Don’t worry, it’ll be fine, have fun OK?” Smiling he nodded at her and began to look around as more and more of the seats became filled up, it was almost time for the bride to come.

Anouk would have liked the woman if she didn’t try to act like another mother for her. She had Carine, her real mother, and by any means was she going to allow this woman to take even a bit of that space. For all she cared the girl could make her father happy and she would be fine with it as long as she didn’t step into her business. Her step-dad hadn’t act that way when Carine re-married, he had given her the space she needed, allowed her to get used to him and the new life they were leading and was there for her when she needed it, that was the difference between him and this woman. She tried too hard to please her and be nice and act like a mother; Anouk didn’t like that one little bit. It might sound like a child or immature but it was the way it was, if she didn’t like the woman obviously she wasn’t going to act like she did, that had never ever been her style at all, her mind was her mind and she will spoke it no matter the reaction of those around her. She had talked about this with her father when he went to ask her what she thought about his wife-to-be. Obviously Anouk had told him she was upset this wedding had been so sudden, that he hadn’t even spoke to her about this until everything was settled. If things would have been different she was sure there wouldn’t be a problem, if she had the chance of really knowing this woman before they got married then she would have been happy. But no, as always his father had to do everything in a rush, not telling anyone until it was too late.
She felt much better once Alexei was with her, which was the reason she had asked him to come in the first place before they were even together. Anouk needed the support, watching her father getting married wasn’t something pleasant, though she was used and he deserved to be as happy as her mother was and that had softened a bit the feelings of anger inside her. She was sure once they subsided there would be no problem at all. She wasn’t just a kid that was throwing a tantrum because her father was re-marrying; she had real reasons behind her anger. Focusing on his tie she smiled to his chest and laughed. “You are very welcome for both.” She could see the confusion in his eyes as she finished with his tie and she just shrugged, not wanting to explain she had the pleasure of undoing many of them to have to do them again after they were done with their… activities. Anouk chuckled to herself, how things had changed, back in the past and being single she would be hunting her next boy right at this moment probably already with him in some corner having a quickie and trying to look decent once they were done. Alexei wasn’t that kind of guy and that instead of annoying her made her feel marvelous, really loved and wanted, not because of her body but because of whom she was. Sighing she rolled her eyes at him, he knew perfectly well her opinion of this all. “Yeah right, I know, but today I just don’t want to hear how bigger I’ve got since they last see me or whatever thing they had ready to throw at me.”
His hand on hers calmed her down, Anouk smiled at him brilliantly as they took their seats and he leaned to whisper words of courage. Smiling she kissed his cheek and took a deep breath. “Thank you for being here with me, through all this, even when it has nothing to do with you and I know you are not a very sociable guy.” She felt sorry he had to go through all the smiling and introducing too but he would get over it, and who knew? Maybe he could even do some friends. Then everyone was seated and the music started to play, her father got in the front and everyone turner to see the bride coming down the aisle. Anouk smiled at her father and nodded, encouraging him and telling him everything was going to be alright. In order to not hurt his feelings she also had to turn and watch the bride, with a bit of luck this would be over soon and they would be free again. She hated weddings, not only just this but all of them, in fact she wouldn’t have attended any if her it wasn’t her mother and now her father getting marrying both times. When she was invited to one she never went to the ceremony, she waited patiently outside until it was all done and joined them later.

The beach wedding idea had given him a new idea of simplicity, even though he knew Anouk would want their own wedding to be a bit simpler, he was going to have it exactly like this…maybe a bit more traditional but something similar to this because he wanted her to be happy; he didn’t want her to have to give into him all the time. Watching the wedding, the well wishers of the about to married couple, the different designs, the aisle and ore importantly he love between Lenny and his fiancé was just overwhelming, mind blowing in fact. He wanted to feel those exact emotions on the day that he married Anouk and he hoped that if they ever did get to marry, if there were no objections from anyone, then that she would feel the same way too.
Nodding his head at her, he decided to stop being annoying for once and not question her about her knowledge in ties, come to think of it, it might be better if she didn’t just in case he had to listen to something that would hurt him or he didn’t want to hear. He realized that whenever he pressure Anouk into telling him that he wanted to know about her, it always had something to do with her heavy filled sex life and he was sure that this probably had something to do with it too; so what was the point of making himself annoyed by asking a stupid question? Laughing he nodded his head, understanding what she meant because relatives always had the need to comment on how big you had gotten over the past few years since they saw you; even as a twenty four year old he received that a lot. He eyed her, lust shown in his eyes as he looked at her and nodded his head once more. “You have grown up to be mighty fine though, I’m sure they’re just appreciating it like I am.” Smiling cheekily, he leaned forwards and kissed her on the lips, allowing his lips to linger against hers for a mere few seconds before pulling back.
Squeezing her hand, he smiled happily at her appreciation. “It doesn’t matter, I want to be here because I love you and nothing says ‘I love you’ than meeting a hundred or so people whom you know.” Letting out a laugh, he shrugged his shoulders because he really didn’t mind meeting people for once as long as she was going to be by his side; he didn’t mind at all. As the music started to play he turned his head in sit to see the beautiful bride making her way down the aisle, and for once he was actually pretty happy because he could just imagine it all. Flowers, champagne flutes, a hundred or so guests and Anouk walking down the aisle, the urge to get married right there and then had never been stronger before but he wasn’t going to tell Anouk, she already gave into so much of his wants and needs and all he had to do was just repay them somehow. Turning to face the front, he gave another squeeze of Anouk’s hand and leaned back in his chair, watching the vicar begin the show. Moving his mouth so only Anouk could hear as the wind blew around them, he whispered at her. “I love you a lot.”

Family was something that was nice as long as they were kept in the distance in moments like this, they tended to go on the embarrassing side, asking you for your love life and how life was going on you now that you were such a beautiful young lady. Especially her grandmother and aunts that tended to go over the top with those kind of things, going back in time when she was a child and used to do stupid childish and embarrassing kid things. She didn’t need Alexei knowing that side of her, she could really spare him that or spare it herself for that matter. She sighed and winked at him with a devious smile in her face, if someone tried to comment on how big she had got she was going to do some remark that probably will scare them away, she was no sugarcoat girl and could give a damn about what they thought. Seriously, did they think she was going to stay like five years old forever? “I hope you appreciate it in a very different way though.” She said laughing and letting that sink into his brain. Anouk loved Alexei for many reasons, but it wasn’t as if she needed those, in fact she didn’t need them at all because all that mattered was the feelings and not the reasons they were there. But she knew perfectly well the way his lips curved into a smile when he was happy and in love, when he gazed at her with lust, when he was thoughtful… And it were moments like this, when he supported and encouraged her that all those reasons came back to the front of her mind, this was just one of many others, but right now it was the most important.
Because she was going to give into his wedding desire. A big white event with loads of people sitting and focusing their attention on you. Also the perfect way to tie you down to someone else, did not people thought of the consequences of that act? She did, a lot, and often came up with the conclusion that she didn’t want that at all. She had lived the consequences, the hurt and pain of her mother when her father left, the arguments and how love faded away on both their eyes. She didn’t want that future for Alexei and her and that was the reason Anouk was resisting so hard to getting married. But she was going to give in now that she was seeing the face Alexei had while watching her step-mother to be walking down the aisle, and the urge just became stronger as he mouthed those words to her. She had to fight back tears and just imagining how happy that decision will make him was filling her with happiness. She squeezed his hand and nodded, not being able to find her voice to answer back but she was sure he could see it in her eyes. They sat back once the women reached the vicar and Anouk sighed, well, one day she was going to do the same thing, she could only hope this was quickly done over with. The ceremony was short, not much to say since her dad wasn’t much of a Christian in the first place and was only marrying because she wanted to, their vows were beautiful and surprisingly enough she could see herself doing the same thing one day.
As her father kissed a stranger, now wife, she turned to Alexei and smiled to him, filled with emotion. But not because of what her father had just did but because what she was going to do. Right at that moment, with the sun setting and turning everything on fire with its colors, with everyone cheering and clapping, everything faded to the background and turned slow motion, all she could see and was on her mind was him. Anouk realized Alexei was the one, and that she was going to spend her life with him, that they weren’t going to end up like her parents because they were mean to be one way or another. She could see it clearly now, she was mean to get married to him, to find him and be happy with him, that was her purpose in life, the reason she was really existing, to be with him. Now that everyone was busy she pulled Alex for a kiss full of emotions and mixed with tears, he would get alarmed not knowing if there was something wrong with her but she was going to clarify his doubts. Resting her hands on his checks she locked eyes with him. “Let’s get married. Not now but soon, before I change my mind. I want the big wedding, I want the white dress. I want to get tied down to you, I want it all. If it’s with you and only you. I love you, and it’s mean to be only you.”

He wouldn’t mind the family embarrassing you thin in front of everyone, Alex hadn’t seen his grandparents in a long time, his dad’s parents were deceased and his mom’s mom and dad were still alive but they lived in the other side of Paris and Alexei just never had the courage to go see them, he always felt as if they would blame him for their daughter’s death. His father encouraged him to see them, but Alex wasn’t ready, he would just have to force himself to go one day and let them ponder over how he had grown up so much. He wanted to know more about Anouk’s past, her childhood, what she used to do for fun before they met, before their parents had gotten together. He wanted to know everything about her and if it was by meeting her friends and family then he didn’t mind because he wanted to know each and every side of the woman that he fell in love with. Laughing as she winked at him, he winked back cheekily, his dimple poking out as always and flashing cutely at her. Sometimes he didn’t like having the dimple, it was the first thing people always noticed when he smiled and they would coo over it, he had no idea what was so adorable about a dimple, sure he looked better with it but sometimes it was a bit bizarre how much attention he got because of it. “Oh I very much do dear, I don’t think that anyone appreciates it the way that I do, I can assure you that much.” Nodding his head affirmatively at her, he flashed another smile at her. He loved every inch of her, he knew from past experiences that girls were always insecure about themselves but he wanted to make sure that Anouk would never feel like that in his presence, because he truly loved everything about her, flaws and everything.
Weddings were amazing, the gasp as the beautiful bride came to the first part of the aisle, the big white dress that they wore that signified their giving. It was just plain, simple and beautiful. He was sure that Anouk would look perfect in a wedding dress, she just had the figure that he was sure a lot of girls wanted; she was slightly under weight from the withdrawal and depression but she was going to bring her weight up and he was glad about that; he wanted his Anouk perfectly fit and healthy before she decided to go down the aisle for the both of them. Watching the wedding he eyed everything, the way everyone’s breath caught in their throats as the bride made her way down the aisle, the way her mother was sobbing into a handkerchief, the way Lenny looked at her with love and the way she reciprocated that love that she felt for him. It was obvious that the both of them wanted each other a lot and that they were willing to put marriage into their lives for one another because it means something beautiful, simple and loving. The vows were simple yet beautiful, they showed how much each loved one another a lot and it was obvious they were choked up y the emotion and love they felt for one another; it was just beautiful. He didn’t think there was anything more beautiful than marriage…apart from having children and grand children that was but that always came later. As Anouk squeezed his hands, he looked down at her and smiled, slightly surprised by the emotions that could be seen in her eyes but he made no comment and smiled even wider.
As the kiss came down between now husband and wife, he looked down at Anouk and smiled as the guests began to cheer and clap, they stood up, ready for the next customs and rituals to come out; the reception, the pictures and what not, so Alex stood up, ready to move along with the crowd; still holding onto Anouk’s hand. Looking at Anouk he smiled, a little breathless by all the emotions coursing through his body due to the wedding, Anouk was his love and he loved her and he wanted this with her. He looked at Anouk confused, she hadn’t moved and she was staring at him, albeit with a smile but it was slightly frightening because she was stood in position. Suddenly he was pulled in for a kiss, which was surprising to him so his eyes were widened slightly, yet closed, he pulled Anouk closer though. His hands at the small of her back, pulling her in and lifting her gently off her feet onto her tiptoes, his lips puckered as they pressed against hers hard, this kiss was different from all the others. Moe gentle, passionate yet full of so much emotion and he loved it. He frowned when he saw tears in her eyes; nuzzling his cheek against her palm that rested there he smiled as she spoke though. Moving his hands he wiped the tears as much as he could, “I love you so much, I want to get married to. I want to see you walking down that aisle in a big white dress, I want to see you say your vows to me, I want everything, and I will propose to you properly one day. I love you Anouk.” Smiling he pulled her in for another kiss, his heart flying away into happiness.

It was hard having your family and friends talk about your past, about how you used to be and how well they think they know you. Probably because none of them had been hanging around her long enough to get to know her for real, as they only saw her from time to time. It was great to see some of them but Anouk never had much relation with her dad’s family side because well, not even he was close to them. They barely were there during her childhood and once her father left them they almost vanished of her life, just birthday phone calls and presents. Alexei and her never really talked about family, it was a bit strange to be introducing some of them now. But he seemed happy enough with and so what made him happy made her happy too. Anouk laughed at his comment, for sure no one around would appreciate her body like he did even though he hadn’t seen much of her. She stopped and kissed his check, whispering in his ear and playing with his tie. “I’ll show you to appreciate it even more later, maybe I can give you some… preview of what’s ahead when we get to the room.” She was going to aim for sex, but if she couldn’t get it at least a good heavy makeout session going a bit further than they always did would be a good thing. Anouk was very confident of her abilities and her body, she had never been insecure about it because she had a lot of boys and people busting her ego on that, she was very happy in her skin right at the moment.
Weddings were never her strong point; thinking about getting married was a really big step for her, giving into the most important decision of her life, knowing somehow she won’t be able to back out of it now. She could imagine herself saying her vows to him, exchanging rings, and it wasn’t so horrible, it was as if that moment would make it all fall in place. It had sense when it was him, it was the right thing to do, not to make him happy but to make herself happy too. For once Anouk could see the idea of getting married as her father said those two words ‘I do’ to his new wife, and she loved the idea. She couldn’t stop looking at Alex as her mind slowly changed, she tried to smile at him but failed, too much emotions to put on one smile, her mind was spinning, because she had taken the most important step of her life, now it was just matter of time but she knew she was going to spend her life with him one way or another, her whole life until she died. Anouk had been allergic to long relationships, she got bored easily, wanted a change in things, always looking for something. But no more, everything clicked inside her right at that moment, she knew Alex was the one, she had always knew that but her mind hadn’t get around the thing that they were finally together but now it was all clear, all her doubts gone, all her fears gone. She knew they were going to make it because they were destined to be together.
As they kissed she tried to convey all her feelings in that kiss, how deeply she believed in their love and how much she wanted them to stay together. She existed for him the same way he existed for her, their bond was so deep that no one would be able to destroy it, no one. Everything around her vanished as they kissed, he lifted her from her feet and she laughed a bit against his mouth. Anouk was truly happy, complete. “I love you so much too. But… I have a request to do first.” She said as he kissed her, she wrapped her arms around his neck, hugging him tightly as their kiss got deeper but so soft, so sweet… it wasn’t lust, it was all love, love and emotions, feelings… It was delicious and she enjoyed every second of it. Anouk could say this was their best kiss together, the best of them all, even beating their first kiss. “I want something private first, something civil and quick. We can have the big thing whenever, but first I want it to be only between you and me.” She didn’t want months planning a wedding, she wanted to get married first somehow and then she could have the wedding for her friends, family and him, but she wanted something for them first, something none needed to know about just for the both of them. She didn’t want to wait to be his wife, though she will certainly have to until she was really ready to take that step.

Living in the past was an easy thing to do, a lot of people remembered so much about their past that it was just difficult not to bring it up every few minutes or so just to say what you felt at that specific moment. Take an example of the first date, first revelation of his love for Anouk; that was definitely a day that he didn’t mind bringing up over and over again because it was filled with beautiful emotions happiness and love. It just showed that love could happen in the weirdest places and that it was for them too. That night was their first everything it seemed; it was the night he finally saw Anouk in a different light and knew they were meant o be; there was no other way that he could put it; he was simply in love with the girl. The painful memories of a person was something that you never wanted to bring it up because it brought up along horrible emotions, emotions that would just ruin you sometimes; an example being Anouk’s suicide, now Alex tried to rarely think about that moment but sometimes at night, when Anouk was asleep his gaze would run over the scar on her wrist and he’d have the horrible gut wrenching feeling inside of him. One that kept on saying what would happen if he was too late? He never told her this because he didn’t want her to know that he worried; he simply wanted her to be in an oblivious state throughout their love; but nothing would ever slip out from Anouk. He stopped breathing for a second as she played with his tie and whispered into his ear. When she pulled back, his gaze was full of lust, this was what he wanted but who knows what would happen later on that night? “Maybe you should, maybe you shouldn’t. I opt for the first, I of course need to appreciate you a bit better.”
For him, it was obvious form the start that they’d be together for a long time, an exceptionally long time really. Because come on, who would start a relationship with their stepsister and then just give up half way? You’d have to go all the way wouldn’t you? After fighting for your love and making sure you were both together right at the very end. Why would you give him or her up? You were going to stay with them no matter what. Now Alex wasn’t only staying with Anouk because he didn’t want to fuck things up between everyone, he was staying with her because he could actually see a future with her, he could actually see a time where they both would have their first child, where they would get married, where they would go on their honeymoon. Those images that just strutted through his minds at different moments in their life always gave him a surge of hope that they would last for longer than what people expected; meaning until they die really. He loved the slowness and the deepness of their kiss, it wasn’t like a lustful snog but a real kiss, conveying real, deep emotions. He looked at her confused, a smile still on his face from everything she had said but he was wondering as to what her request would be. As her arms wrapped around his neck, his hands moved, encircling her even harder and better than before, he just wanted her closer, wanted her to feel the emotions radiating off of his body at that very moment. “That’s fine with me, a small ceremony for you will be fine, I don’t mind. Though I think we do need two witnesses, it’s the law I think.” Smiling, he kissed her again; “I’ll try not to take things over board in the real wedding though.”

Anouk tried to keep past in the past, especially some parts of it well locked behind thick doors in her mind. She had some memories though that she didn’t mind playing in her head time and time again. And all of them usually had to do with Alexei. Of course there were some of Cass, really good times before everything got fucked up, and even if she was high and wasted half the times there were still moments she wanted to keep. She wouldn’t tell him that, he would just get jealous again because her past had more guys that he would wish for her. Anouk had never hided what she was, in fact she had always been proud of it, she had walked in front of Alexei with all her guys time and time again just to stir some reaction out of him, even when he called her slut that had been better than him ignoring her. Now things had changed a lot and she had him in front of her begging for more. “Then I will show you.” She laughed a bit and kissed his lips for a second, letting go. Since they were together everything was better in her life, way better. Even if she still suffered because no relationship was ever perfect and theirs was harder than most, she still was happier than she had been in the past three years and that was saying a lot.
Now she knew they would always be together, even if the way was bumpy and full of obstacles, she had never wanted to run from their relationship, after all the effort why would she? Now those were memories she didn’t want in her mind today, especially not right now. Anouk pushed all those out of her mind when kissing Alexei, her whole body full of love for the realization and the promise they were making to each other. He hadn’t proposed yet but they both were going to get married one day, they plan on doing so and that was a big step in their relationship. Well they were living together after all just not the way she would want but she knew they could make it. She laughed at Alexei’s confused face but he seemed relieved when she voiced her request and she was happy that he accepted. “That’s okay. And you can have your big wedding if I have mine so make it as big as you want.” She laughed and kissed him, enjoying his hands on her back and the warm of his body. “I also want to move in together… I think it could be a great idea if we do it before we tell mom and dad, like… telling them we are giving them some space to be together and alone and that way we will have somewhere to run if they got mad when we tell them about us.”
Anouk feared their reaction but not anymore. They loved each other with the same intensity and nothing could break the deep loved they felt for each other and the bon they had. “We’ll be always together.” There was no hint of doubt in her tone anymore, though she knew her resolution will falter at some point and that she will have doubts and fears again, but here in Sydney, so far from everything they knew and so far of the people that could hurt them everything looked different and great, there was hope and happiness and for once she could really see herself with a wedding band on her finger and a baby on her arms, waving Alexei goodbye one morning for work at the door of their house. And that image in her mind filled her with a warm feeling that spread across her chest and body and made her smile with more happiness that she ever smiled or felt, not even when they got together. And she knew more moments like this, even better ones, were to come in their future, even if it didn’t look always as bright.

It was obvious that there would be ups and downs in a relationship, what relationship truly survived on just ups or survived on just downs? None, the ups and downs of a certain relationship kept everything alive, kept a fire burning in each person in the relationship and kept them wondering what would happen next. Obviously the ups were more welcomed than the downs, but when it came to the downs, everything was settled on the table. The amount of love you held for the other partner in the relationship; to what length you would actually go for them; those were what the downs were for and after each down Alexei and Anouk came back stronger than before because they were both reassured how much the other loved one another. And now being in Sydney, the love for her was revitalised, it felt better and better than it had done but nothing could beat the first night when he had realised that he loved her; it was as if his mind was going crazy with sweet thoughts...not that he minded at all. Chuckling, he looked at her once more with a pair of lustful eyes, eagerly accepting her one kiss before trying to settle himself down, this was a wedding after all and he was meant to be calm and act like a good guest; not pouncing on the groom’s daughter.
Not bothering to care about the guests anymore, his sole concentration was now on Anouk, an arm wrapped around her waist, a smile placed upon his lips, a hand creeping upwards and pushing a strand of hair backwards. It was all perfect then. The sun was gently settling, the pale orange was shining brighter than before, turning a deep, dark shade of amber and he had to close his eyes for a second because of the sun rays poking into his eyes. Smiling he let out another laugh and held her just in front of him, his eyes downwards to look at her and his mouth slightly hung open as he licked his lips. “Well if you don’t mind the traditional part of it all and the big of it all, then alright...I’ll make it big. Just make sure you find someone who can help you cope with how big I’m going to make it.” Winking, he leaned into her kiss, his other hand going once more around her back and holding her by the small of her back. To say he was surprised was an understatement; he was literally gobsmacked by her request. Should they move out together? He didn’t mind, he didn’t...but was it too early for her? After all she was nineteen. Looking into her eyes which were full of enough love and reassurance for him, he let out a content sigh and nodded his head. “Good idea, if we have a house by ourselves, we can do a lot more in it too.” Smiling he nodded his head, his eyes turned a little whiter at the thought of his parents finding out. But he didn’t want to ruin the occasion by telling Anouk how he felt, she probably already knew anyway.
Nodding his head, he reassured her by giving her another kiss. This was one somehow sweeter and more passionate than before because it was obvious that they were in it for the long haul now, marriage was on the cards and telling their parents was on the cards too. They were doing everything they could to piss their parents off and it was going to be, maybe, a long and bitter fight. “We will, there’s no doubt about that.” Turning her around in his arms, he placed his head on her shoulder and smiled, watching the bride and groom pose for their pictures and walking down the aisle.

Balance was the key, the key to have a normal relationship that will survive through anything. Alexei and Anouk had that balance. They fought, yes but they also had moments were they couldn’t stop saying how much they loved each other. Moments like this where time and space disappeared around them and they were alone in the world, just the two of them surrounded by their warm love. Not everything was so perfect sometimes, and Anouk had her doubts about how much that blissful state of happiness was going to last. But now with him surrounding her with his arms, with such a bright happy smile in his face and his eyes full of the love he felt; now she believed everything could be perfect between them, perfect enough for both. “I do mind, but this relationship is compromise right? I can get over it.” Alexei’s lip were intoxicating, they sent her into a frenzy of happiness and lust, they made her inside explode, they set her skin on fire and fireworks exploded everywhere around her. Anouk was ready to move in with him, she had been living with him under the same room for three years already and there was nothing that she wished more than living with him alone. They had the perfect excuse, giving their parents the space they needed because when they got married Anouk wasn’t old enough to move but now she could, and they could allow their parents to enjoy their married years. That was a great advantage for both Alexei and her, their parents wouldn’t think much of the matter since they were ‘step-brothers’. What Anouk aimed for was not having to hide anymore, once they had their own place they would be safe inside those walls, no chance of someone running into them anymore.
She jumped on him and circled his neck with her arms, pulling him into a tight hug. Having Alexei accept this was very important for her, it meant everything. They will have a place to run if their parents decided to go against them, it was going to be hard enough as to remind living under the same roof and she didn’t want to live without him. “Thank you, thank you! I love you so much Alexei.” A lot of promises were done between them, living together, getting married and in a future having children. There was no doubt they loved each other as much as to know they were going to spend their future together, always. Anouk never liked compromising, getting serious with someone because they weren’t Alexei and there was no way she could spend her life with them. She was finally with the one she loved, forever. She had forgotten about the wedding until he turned her to face her father and his new wife. They seemed to happy and radiant that she had to smile, she could reconcile the angriness inside her right now because she was feeling so happy with the man of her dreams hugging her. She laced their fingers and squeezed his hands, leaning against him and titling her head to kiss his cheek. “I might try to get along with her, if she stops acting like a mother around me.” She said, because Anouk could see she was making her father happy, and he deserved it, well not so much after leaving her mother and herself all on their own years ago but she had decided to forgive that and he was always taking care of her, also he was going to lend a hand with Carine and that meant a lot to her. He accepted Alexei because she loved him, that said a lot of her father.

Their relationship was easy to hold onto, it was easy to maintain with it’s ups and downs and nowadays there were more ups than there were downs and he was ecstatic about that because it meant that their bond was growing stronger, that they had put past issues aside and were working extremely hard. The both of them just wanted to have their love together and not do anything else, they didn’t want arguments, they didn’t want to go through anything difficult but sadly it was all inevitable. They had to go through it and they would have to do everything to the best of their ability. If their was no effort in a relationship then there was no relationship because none of them would be working hard enough to try and save their relationship, they wouldn’t be working hard enough to try and make sure that they both knew how much the other one loved one another. “It always has been a big compromise, our relationship.” Smiling at her, he nodded his head. “But alright, a big wedding it is, I want to see you wearing that big dress and a big smile on your face that would show me how happy you really are by marrying me, mi amour.” The wedding was always gong to happen, they were both far too in love with one another that letting each other go was just out of the question, there was no way that he would ever let her go now, all he wanted to do was put a rock on her left ring finger and then just have her by his side every morning when he woke up and every night when he went to sleep without anyone trying to drive them apart. He didn’t want to be driven away from her anymore and the reassurance was settled into his heart; because that’s what he wouldn’t do.
He was a little startled at her sudden attack on him, and quickly wrapped his arms around her waist to ensure that the both of them wouldn’t fall backwards. Otherwise it would have been an embarrassing moment because he was sure a lot of the wedding guests would notice. Smiling at her excitement about his agreement to buying their own house, he held onto her a little tighter as she spoke. Pulling back from the hug, he looked at her and kept on smiling. “I love you too, we’ll start off with a small house though, like a studio apartment. One bedroom house with a little kitchen and patio outside; it’ll be cute.” Thinking about the house he smiled because it would be theirs, it would be a place where they could just change it into their own little world; no one would disturb them or try to get in between them; it would be fantastic. Inhaling her scent as he turned her around and placed his chin on her shoulder, he held onto her tighter, his arms just wrapped nicely around her small figure as if they jut fit together like two puzzle pieces. Nuzzling into her as she kissed his cheek, he kissed her cheek once too not daring to go further as the bride and groom were coming close to them. Smiling happily he sighed. “That’s good dear, in the end she’s not that bad.” Looking around the place they were in, he frowned. “So what’s next on the list for today?"

It seemed as if their relationship was always on the edge, full of drama and thick love. There was no break, no light moment between them, their relationship was everything but easygoing. That worried Anouk. She wanted to give him that relaxed relationship with laughs and funny moments, not always worrying, crying, fighting or lovey-dovey. Well of course she wanted the love part but… lighter, more carefree not as if their lives depended on it or they wouldn’t be together the next day anymore. Their relationship couldn’t last long that way if they keep up with such tension. So what Alexei said was true, it had always been a big compromise, full of tension and problem and sometimes Anouk thought he would be much without her, and that he deserved a girl who could make him happier. She never doubted for one second that she loved him like no one else, but sometimes love wasn’t enough, sometimes love didn’t matter if it was making the other person unhappy. She made a face wrinkling her nose at the mention of a big wedding and a big white dress, the image of a fluffy cake came to her mind. “Don’t make me change my mind.” That was the reason Anouk was always giving in, to make up for all those things and moments she couldn’t give him. She wanted to live with him, spend her hours watching him move around the house, sleeping besides him, waking up by his side… but she could let go, if he needed to.
Right now it wasn’t the best moment to be thinking of that thought, since she was filled with happiness and sure everything was going to be alright. But doubts were doubts right? And they had a way of always coming back. Buying a house, a sacred place for just the two of them and no one else where they could enjoy their relationship meant a lot to her, it was one of those things she could give to him. “A patio! I can sunbathe then! And we can have plants!” She could care less about how the house would be, honestly, as long as they lived there together. She wanted to be as happy as her father seemed to be right at the moment, with promises of future together, things like that. Though things in her life never seem to be easy Anouk could always dream this time and for once their relationship will have a happy ending. “I don’t think she is bad, she just tries too hard and I don’t like that. I don’t need another mother, I have my own.” she was sure Alex could understand that because it was similar to what he lived when Carine entered his life, though her mother had been sensible enough as to leave him alone on his own. “I think it’s time for the best part of the weddings! The food and the party!”
Wedding were never Anouk’s thing at all but she enjoyed a party like one else and though this one wasn’t similar at all to what she had lived she was planning on having lots of fun. Free bar and good music? With her boyfriend? Who would say no to that? Waiting for everyone to slowly clear the path behind her father Anouk untangled herself from Alexei and hold his hand to walk toward the house where he father would be waiting. They were going to celebrate the banquet outside too in the beach but the catering service and such had to fix some things before they could actually enjoy the party and she wanted to say congratulate her father for the wedding, it was time to socialize and say hello to all her family and old friends much to her dismay.
