Shopping, what a lovely thing to do and how much it helped her to forget. Buying presents, even though it was still a bit early for Christmas, was one great idea and it would give her something to focus on. Shaking her head Anouk refused to listen to Maureen, she knew how bad her friend felt because of the money difference but Anouk didn’t care one bit about it, she couldn’t do a thing either, the best thing she could do was spending it in the people she loved. “But I want to. The best to spend the money is sharing it with the people you love.” Another thing her friend was worrying about was the present she will have to buy Anouk in return, which was something she didn’t care either, whatever she got her was fine and she was sure she will absolutely love it. “Handmade presents are great, if that’s what you are thinking. I would love to get one.” Anouk did some handmade presents herself since she was an artist and had some ability doing those kinds of things so she knew how to appreciate the work and effort invested in one.
Laughing at her friend reaction she nodded in agreement. Things with Cass always were fun and light, they weren’t in a serious relationship, the thing between them was… undefined. Anouk kept flirting with boys around her when she went to parties and Cass did the same, there was no exclusivity in their relationship at all. He had been flirting with a boy… which she knew was going to be different. That had her worried but it wasn’t as if she could ask from Cass something more, she had managed to get her secret for her, Cass didn’t know about Anouk’s current depression and state. “Like I said, nothing serious at all.” But it was right he was the more serious relationship she ever had and that was saying a lot. Anouk never had a serious relation in her whole life at all, flings were all she had and of course no one lasted more than a week, they bored her. But with Cass it had been different.
She had both the time and patience for a serious relationship, but she couldn’t say that because that was reserved for Alexei, and he was the only one she couldn’t have; especially after their fight. “Yes, flings are sure easier to deal with. Besides, I never fell in love.” Not really but she couldn’t very well tell her friend about her unrequited love. “You didn’t have any flings lately? No boys?” If she didn’t have time to go out she doubted it but Anouk couldn’t be without a partner for too long, that always had her thinking and she didn’t want that. Some necessities needed to be satisfied.

-- maureen knew anouk really didn't care about the money, but maureen did. she always just felt...funny. but a smile was brought to her lips when her friend mentioned home made gifts. "i do have a couple really cute ideas this year." maureen admitted. for some reason other than money, the holidays made her feel crafty. she loved doing small little crafts and such. she knew her friends appreciated the thought and effort. not only did it save her money, but she was able to personalize each gift. making everyone feel special instead of just giving them something from a store. she loved getting home made presents.
-- it was good to hear anouk laugh. she had been starting to get very worried about her friend. maybe all she needed was just a nice girl's day out. maureen knew how cranky she got when she went too long without seeing her friends. she just nodded in response to anouk. she couldn't imagine someone like cass being in a serious relationship. or even anouk. she wondered if deep down, her friend really wanted more than just flings and one night stands. she wasn't going to play psychologist though. nothing made her more peeved than when someone did that to her. especially if she was already sad or depressed.
-- "i agree. and neither have i. i wonder what it feels like." she pondered out loud. of course she had heard her friends talk about how much they "loved" their boyfriends. but was it true love? she wondered what it felt like to be so completely...involved with someone that you couldn't imagine yourself or life without them. it was kind of scary to her, never having to really rely on or be involved with besides herself and her dance career. it wasn't that she was self centered, it's just no one had been there for her to rely on, or to get her through things other than her friends.
-- shaking her head, maureen couldn't even remember her last fling. "it's pathetic. i think i'm losing it, anouk." she said, chuckling. a good night out would definitely do her good. especially if that night included taking some hot male back to her apartment. it would definitely get her mind of the stresses at school and in dancing, and not to mention other added rewards. but she wouldn't find a boyfriend, or someone serious at a club. it didn't matter. she had plenty of time to find someone to be serious with. but right now she just wanted to live it up. she hadn't had time for much of that lately, but she was going to have to, or she would most definitely go crazy.
