Okay, one could not simply just say how upset Conan was at the moment. For one, him and Ike got into an argument about pies and who was better, Angelina Jolie or Phil Collins (there was no argument there, Phil Collins was definitely better, no matter who said). But other than that, he had just got laughed at by the people he called his friends. Yes, it was a stupid reason for an argument. But he took his pie making seriously. At least it put food on the table. Conan walked downstairs and hooked his dog, Cosaac to a leash and sighed. “Dad, Cosaac and I are going on a walk.” he called out, receiving an 'Okay, be careful!' from his father who was slowly falling asleep in the living room. The young man smiled softly and grabbed his coat, keys, scarf, and headed out the door. It was a rather beautiful night out, but one thing was bothering Conan as he stepped out onto the porch. Oddly, he felt as if he was being watched. And Cosaac, being a small puppy, even growled. It seemed she felt the presence too. “C-Come on Cosaac....we are all right. It's just our imaginations. That's all, my little princess.” he said softly, guiding her off the porch and towards the sidewalk to travel down it.
As the young man walked, he began to think about the argument. It wasn't as if it was the end of the world really. And yes they had a disagreement....but Conan couldn't help but feel love for the musician he cared about so deeply. Sighing softly, he looked at Cosaac who sat down and gave a happy little 'yip'. It made the young actor chuckle. “I guess you are right, Cossy. Daddy Conan got mad at Daddy Ike for no reason. I need to apologize to him don't I?” he asked, kneeling down to pet the small little pup. Cosaac made this small little sneeze and nodded her head doing so. Which obviously meant 'yes' in dog language. Conan gave a smile as he continued walking. Maybe he would get Ike something special. As he was looking around the different shops, he heard the sound of the fire alarms. 'Hmm, some poor unfortunate soul's place must have caught fire. I hope everything is all right.' he though gently to himself as he purchased a locket in the shape of a guitar. Lucky for Conan, he had a picture of him and Ike when they got Cosaac and Eponine.
Eponine was a surprise Conan got for Ike as a thank you. It was also an excuse to give him a reason to visit the house a couple of times since the young actor said he would take care of the husky dog. That night, Eponine was with Ike since they didn't have school the following day. Conan smiled as he looked at the picture while placing it gently in the guitar shaped locket. “Daddy Ike will love this, won't he, Cosaac? Cosaac? What's wrong girl?” he asked her, noticing her whole demeanor changed. She was cowering, as if something was wrong. Frowning a little, he picked the small pooch up in his arms, feeling her shake. “Cosaac, baby, what's the matter? Did something scare you?” he continued speaking, looking around. It was then he saw the smoke coming from the direction of his home. His eyes widened and looked down at Cosaac. “Dad!” he called out, knowing that from that distance, his father wouldn't be able to hear him.
The young actor held on tightly to Cosaac and the locket as he ran towards his home. Once the firetrucks were visible, he began to shake. “Dad?! Dad! DAD!” he satrted calling out in a panic, searching the crowd that had gathered. Once he realized that his father wasn't among the crowd, Conan started to panic more. He ran up to the rope that kept back the crowd. One of the firemen stopped him and he looked up at him, tears streaming down his face. “That's my house! My dad is still in there! Dad!” he cried. He somehow managed to get past the ropes, still holding the whimpering and shaking dog in his arms. “DAD! DAAAAAD!!!!!” Conan screamed with all his might. He had to get in there, just to see if his dad was safe. He put Cosaac down and hooked the locket onto his neck. Finding a small pole away from the fire, he attached the panicking little dog to it and petted her. “Cosaac stay here!” he told her. It was then he turned to face the burning house. It was now or never.
“That boy is insane! Someone stop him!” a womanly voice called out.
'Please someone stop me....' where his inner thoughts. He hoped someone would answer them too.

* I'VE BEEN LOCKED INSIDE YOUR HEART-SHAPED BOX FOR WEEKS !(i'vebeendrawnintoyourmagnettarpittrap)Ike sighed in an annoyed fashion and tossed the iPod along the headphones away, catching Eponine's attention for a brief second. He wasn’t even in the mood to listen to music which was strange for the singer. He stretched on his bed and stared at the open window, feeling the breeze fill the room. Ike didn’t even know why he was so annoyed. It had been a stupid argument and yes, he and Conan probably could’ve taken it in a more mature fashion but they didn’t, and so Ike was alone in his room thinking of what to do. Singing something wasn’t an option, he was too distracted and obviously that left song writing out of the picture as well. Squirming and rolling off the bed, Ike hopped downstairs and looked at the small living room where the sound system and the tv could be found. He didn’t like French tv though… his French was good but he’d rather hear something in English… or even Polish. The only option left was taking a walk, it'd have to be alone though as Eponine decided it was nap time and Ike would have hell if he dared to wake her up. Maybe he’d find someone in the mall or something like that, anything to take his mind off stupid arguments and the fact that he kinda wanted to go and talk to Conan about it.
Grabbing his jacket and his wallet, Ike closed the door to his place and hopped down the stairs. As soon as he hit the street an ambulance and a fire engine rushed past by, sirens hurting his ears. It was the first time Ike saw something like that happen around the neighborhood but didn’t give it much of a thought. Instead his mind traveled to more mundane issues; he could go to the right, where the mall, the school and other stuff could serve to keep him distracted, or he could go to the left where Conan’s house was. It took him an entire minute to make up his mind but he ended up going left. It was stupid to stay angry at something like that and he didn’t want to crack his friendship with Conan.
His walk was even, not too fast and not too slow. He could hear the sirens ahead, and a column of smoke became visible once he turned the last corner to reach Conan’s house. His face went white with fear and concern as soon as he realized where the commotion came from and his legs broke into a sprint when it finally hit him: it was Conan’s house. Running as fast as he could, he found himself stopping in front of the crowd. He looked around, the ambulances were there but they weren’t tending to anyone which meant that either Conan and his father weren’t there, or that they were inside the house. His eyes continued searching frantically but there were no signs of any of them. No one in the crowd seemed to know anything either, or that’s what Ike thought until he heard someone say something about an insane boy. His eyes posed on Conan who was trying to get inside the house. The firemen were too busy controlling the mess and the paramedics were too far away to hear the cry for help. With strength he didn’t know he possessed, Ike pushed a couple officers out of the way and crossed the yellow rope. He ran towards Conan who seemed a bit too determined to go inside. “No Conan wait!!” He yelled, not really expecting the other to listen to him. Instead of trying to use reason, Ike ran up to Conan and pretty much tackled him to the ground, to stop him from entering to what would probably be his death site. “Conan, no!!” He wrapped his arms around the other. Conan was slightly taller than him, but Ike was better built and just so desperate to keep him safe… almost as desperate as Conan was to go in and try to save his father but ike wasn’t about to let him throw his life away. Not without Ike being able to tell him he was sorry…

Conan continued to stare wt the burning building, thinking about if he did go in there. If he went, he would most likely die. And he would abandoned the ones he cared about. Ike, Cosaac, Eponine. Their names ran through his head and he had a moment of hesitation. Did he really want to fight through the flames to save his father? 'Yes....I'm sorry Ike....I hope after this we will meet again in another life....I love you....' he thought, starting to run towards the fiery hell that was once his home. That was until he felt someone tackle him to the ground. The young man felt a pain in his shoulder and looked to see who had stopped him. He looked into the beautiful brown eyes of Isaac Nowak. His only love he had ever hoped for and wanted. At first, he just stopped and stared, but he couldn't let Ike keep him from saving his only family.
The young man started to try and get away from Ike, feeling the other man's arms wrap around him. “Ike! Let me go! I...I have to save dad! Let me go!” he cried, trying to do everything he could just to get away from his darling Ike without hurting him. However, it seemed as if he wouldn't be able too. Ike was just too strong for the taller male to fight off him. Conan's eyes watered and he looked at the musician dead in the eyes. Tears started to roll down his face as he spoke, his voice cracking. “I can't lose Dad, Ike....I lost Mum and that was my fault, even if Dad says it isn't....I....I don't want to be alone....Ike please....l-let me go....” he said softly. But he didn't want the other man to let go. He wanted to feel Ike's embrace. Feel the safety of his touch. Even though he was pleading with the musician to release him, his arms wrapped around Ike's neck softly and he nuzzled his face into his shoulder.
For the first time in Conan's life, he cried in front of the one who held his heart. “I hope he is ok....I hope Dad is ok...” he mumbled softly as he sobbed into Ike's shoulder. Conan felt weak and numb. How could this have happened to his family? What could have caused the fire. The young actor knew he didn't leave anything burning or on. And his Dad had been in the living room dozing.
He felt Ike pull him into a sitting position to get off the ground. In Ike's arms he felt safe and protected as the flames grew more. The sound of glass breaking is what got Conan to move his face out of Ike's shoulder and look over to see a figure laying on the lawn. His eyes widened, noticing who the figure was. “D-Dad!!” he tried to call out, but it only sounded like a whimper. He tried to get free from Ike once more, but the other man still had that firm hold on him so he wouldn't do anything stupid to get himself hurt or killed.
The paramedics went over and put him on the stretcher. Conan watched while he continued to cry. He couldn't watch as the people in the ambulance started doing all they could to see if his father was still alive. Slowly, the young man hid his face in the crook of Ike's neck. Tears continued to leak out of his eyes. “I...I'm scared....Please tell me this isn't real....please please please....” he sobbed, realizing the extent of the damage that the fire had done.
When the flames died down, all that was left of the house was the floor of the downstairs and some walls that managed to stay strong. Conan realized what all this meant. He had no home, his things were completely gone, his Dad was in critical condition, and what was worse was that all the pictures of his mother were destroyed.
Conan really couldn't feel a thing after a while. All he felt was the warmth of Ike's arms around him and something pressing into his and Ike's chest. He heard a whimper of a small puppy, which he figured it was Cosaac. Amazingly, she had escaped the leash she was tied to and she ran over. The small dog whined and licked on Conan's and Ike's arms gently, trying to see why her master was acting so strangely. But Conan didn't feel like speaking. He didn't feel like doing anything. All he wanted to do was stay in Ike's arms. 'Don't ever let go...Don't ever let me go....' Conan thought. However, he might not have realized it then, but he actually muttered those words loud enough that Ike might have been able to hear him, even if he sounded weak, tired, and sad.
“Please....don't ever let go.....”

* I'VE BEEN LOCKED INSIDE YOUR HEART-SHAPED BOX FOR WEEKS !(i'vebeendrawnintoyourmagnettarpittrap)Ike wasn’t the type of guy who used strength for things. Words and sometimes even gestures were enough to get a point across. This wouldn’t be one of those times though. Ike could see the desperation in Conan’s eyes. He was entirely alien to the feeling, as Ike had never really felt that way before but he could understand where it was coming from. Conan didn’t want to lose his family, but Ike didn’t want to lose Conan in such a stupid way either. In a way he could relate; it would never be as strong as what Conan was feeling but still, Ike didn’t want to let go. It was hard to look at Conan’s face, at his tears and hearing his pleading words didn’t make it any better. “No, Conan I’m not letting go.” He said, sternly but with a tint of ‘I’m sorry’ to it. It would be reckless, it would be suicide and Ike wouldn’t be able to forgive himself if he ever did let him go.
Their previous discussion seemed so distant now, so stupid and so senseless. As Conan curled up against him and rested on his shoulder Ike couldn’t help but sigh and give the house a longing look. It was painfully easy how things could go so bad so soon. Ike felt his heart shrinking at the thought of Conan’s father being inside that hell. He looked away for a moment, back at Conan but found it even harder to see the broken expression in his face. And then, Conan attracted his attention to something else, or rather someone else. He made it out! Ike let out a relieved sigh and was about to let go of Conan but a protective instinct kicked in and he renewed the grasp. Conan shouldn’t see his father like that. He was hurt and as bad as it sounded, burn victims were never a nice sight. Conan had suffered enough and he didn’t need to see his father like that. It almost seemed as if his thoughts acted as cue for the paramedics. They rushed towards Conan’s dad and carried him away. Ike still held onto Conan, or was it the other way around? It was hard to tell by now.
Ike tried to pull Conan away from the burning house, at least outside the limits of the safe line the police had drawn. He didn’t think Conan noticed as he continued crying on his shoulder. They were now sitting on the sidewalk with Cosaak trying to nest her way into their laps. How long it was? Ike couldn’t really tell but perhaps it was merely around ten minutes until the flames were completely down. He was still holding onto Conan, and sending warning glares of ‘back off’ to whoever wanted to disrupt the moment. It wasn’t because he was close to Conan, but because he thought the other needed the space and the silence. Once Conan seemed to snap out of it he tightened the hug and rested his head against Conan’s. “It’s ok Conan, I won’t let go.” He said softly but at the same time nudged Conan so he would look up. “We have to go to the hospital though, and check on your dad.” He said while leaving their position to stand up. “C’mon, I’ll take you.” He offered Conan his hand, which was all he could do at the moment. Later on he would have to apologize though, for the stupid argument and for not being there when Conan needed him. Well ok, he arrived, a little late but arrived. It wasn’t time to chastise himself though, and Ike was never the type to do so anyway. All that mattered right now was Conan and he wanted to be there for him in what probably was one of the hardest moments in his life.

Ike had denied Conan's pleas. But maybe it was for the better. He did notice the sort of apologetic sound of the other man's voice as he spoke. But all Conan could do was stare blankly ahead, as if he was in deep thought. He had just lost everything he had. And yet he started to feel no remorse. His father was luckily all right. At least Conan hoped he was all right. Now, he didn't feel the two of them move. He was drifting into space, thinking about what might have caused this and why it happened. If only he had stayed at home with his father, maybe he would have been able to stop it. Maybe this was his fault. Perhaps he left a stove on, or a candle.
It was then he heard two of the officers talking. “Fire started on the outside chief. In the bushes. Someone must have done it. The only suspect is the son, but he was seen in town when the flames started and had his dog with him. He was gone for about twenty minutes. I say he is clean off the hook.” the gruff voice said. So they were suspecting him? He hadn't done it. Why would he, out of all people, try to kill his father? Sure, they got into small arguments, but that was completely normal. This had just made the young actor feel worse. He felt Ike hold him closer and lay his head on top of his own. The musician spoke, nudging Conan to look up. Hesitantly, the brunette did and his broken blueish-green eyes met Ike's beautiful hazel ones slowly. Oh, he didn't want his crush to see him like this. 'He can probably see the emptiness I feel right now....I don't....want him to see me acting like this....' he thought. However, the young brunette felt relief since he knew Ike was there for him.
He heard Ike talk about visiting Conan's dad in the hospital. The shorter man left from the spot beside the blueish-green eyed man, which made him shiver slightly. Conan just sat there for a moment and stared at Isaac's hand, not wanting to leave the spot because, truthfully, he felt no strength to stand. His face was blank and wet from the tears. His eyes were red and puffy from crying. If a stranger were to look at Conan now, they would think he was just upset over something. But, his friends would see that this person sitting on the side walk was not the Conan Albright they knew. Merely with his eyes, a person could see the sudden brokenness in them. Mentally, the young drama student was frantic and panicking. But, physically, his face showed no emotion. His body language seemed cold, and all he could feel was a numbness.
Slowly, Conan's long and slender fingers met with Ike's as he took a hold of his hand and stood up. Even though he was shivering, he felt no cold. All he could feel was the lingering warmth of the flames that had died down. In his ears, he heard the crackling of the wood burning. The wood that was once his home. Sighing softly, Conan looked down at Cosaac and then back to Ike. “We should.....drop Cosaac off at your place....since they won't let her in the hospital.” he said, his voice almost robotic and not his own. Hopefully after that night, he would be back to his normal self. Because this was even scaring him.
