There were certain things that made Ericka Anderrose scared of coming into the school. One of which was the attack that happened a few weeks ago. She was jumped and attacked trying to hide somewhere when her hero, Duck Young, came and saved her. She was forever grateful for that. If he hadn't of shown up, Ericka knew she would be dead and not sitting in the lunch room eating a delicious meal of sushi and soba noodles. With her decorated chopsticks. She smiled softly and got a piece of sushi and put the whole thing in her mouth as she started to gingerly chew it. Sighing in contentment, Ericka looked at her cute little bento box she bought off the internet.
A lot had happened to her since she moved to Paris. She lost all contact with her father, which she never had anyway. She had met a guy whom the brunette slowly was starting to fall for despite what she didn't want to do. Looking down at the food in front of her, she wondered why she was so different from her family. No one that she knew, other than her father, liked Asian food. Thus, when she went out to eat, she was always alone. Ericka couldn't understand why her family couldn't just...try it. Because all you had to do was just eat it and if you didn't like it, then you wouldn't have to go. Sighing, she put her chopsticks between her fingers as she took a drink of the soda in front of her. It was Dr. Pepper. Sweet tasting, Ericka loved it. It was what she grew up with.
The only thing she ever wanted to remember of home. But, she always dreamed about the country. The meadows, the hills, the woods. Everything came to her in that split second as she thought about it. Staring at the table, she started thinking about home. Nashville, Tennessee. The home where country music stars are born and brought to fame. She smiled a little as the musician thought of this. Her nose was filled with the invisible scents of the tobacco farms that were around her old home. The fields and the woods with the creek. Why was she missing all of that now? She gave an unhappy groan and opened her eyes to continue eating.
Soon, she was back in her day dreaming world in her mind.

It was around that time again – lunch time to be precise. Duck Young always looked forward to this time… And any other times that revolved around eating. For such a skinny boy, he had such a big appetite. Sometimes his mind started to wander, picturing where it all must go. Certainly not to his ass. That was as flat as cardboard. Nor his hips, the bones of which poked noticeably against his pale coffee skin. He didn’t have breasts so he couldn’t say there. His thighs were of normal size and his waist was a flat as a door. His face was narrow – hell, he was probably lucky his cheeks didn’t sink in. So where the hell did it all go? His hair? It did have a little poof about it… This thought brought a soft chuckle to the writer’s lips and a smile twitched at the corners of his mouth. That must be it, he thought. How interesting. He assumed there were tons of girls that would rather have all the calories go to their hair and not their actual body.
Duck made his way to the cafeteria with his near empty backpack slung over one shoulder. In his hands was a medium sized box – his lunch. Mimi had made it herself (as she did most days) and he had no idea what was inside. Whatever it was, it was bound to be good. And cute. There was always one cat or another somewhere made out of food. That was his favorite parts. Though, the idea of eating a cat reminded him of Goose… How… sadistic?
The nineteen-year-old fourth year slipped into the cafeteria without a sound. He was a little late which meant getting his own table would be difficult. This was the one thing he didn’t like about lunch. Yeah, Ducky here was great at socializing. Especially for someone that didn’t particularly like strangers, or at least being touched by them. Certain things he could handle and… certain things he couldn’t. It was as simple as that. And especially since the school attack, he had been wary of anyone he didn’t know. Rumor had it a few students were in on the attack – one of which died. Bambi. Which made Duck relieved when he saw Ericka sitting at a table. The poor girl had been assaulted during the attack. In fact, Bambi was the one that had turned on her. He’d like to think otherwise, but if it wasn’t for him, Ericka probably wouldn’t be sitting at that spot this very moment. He couldn’t not sit with her.
A mischievous grin lit up his features as he quietly made his way to his new friend. One lanky arm reached out and tapped the girl’s shoulder before he moved and sat on the opposite side of her. With an expert dive, he stole a bite of her food, mimicking the sound of what a shark might make – or what he thought a shark sounded like.
