There was nothing harder than hiding your feelings from someone you liked: Especially when most of your time was spent around that particular someone. That was more than true for Jaykob. Ever since his best friend had told him she liked him, things weren’t the same; mainly because he liked her back. He really, really liked her. Yet, in his world- a world of insecurity and instability he figured that love shouldn’t really be part of it, no matter how much he wanted it to be; especially with Lily. So even though it hurt him to say he didn’t like her back, he had to try to keep their friendship going, because he needed her in his life.
So for a couple of weeks it had been awkward between them, only small smiles and the physical contact kept to a minimum. Until they both got fed up with it and decided to just forget about the giant elephant in the room. And that’s why he was currently getting ready to go to her house, they had promised to have a movie night at her house and just keep things as fun as could be.
Making sure he had her Christmas gift in his bag- along with his camera and a pair of clothes in case he felt like sleeping over- he had made his way to her house. He had been there a countless amount of times. When he was sad, when he was bored, or when he just wanted to see her beautiful face. Yet, today he felt somewhat nervous- maybe because he knew that one word with her beautiful English accent and his secret would spill out, and then she would know his true feelings.
Knocking on the door of her apartment, he waited for her to open it. “You know Olive Bear; I am quite capable of going through the back and climbing up to your balcony. “ he somewhat joked, is not like he hadn’t don’t it before. “This is why us Aussie’s are way better than you English people!” he teased. you heard that i was trouble , BUT YOU COULDN'T RESISTJ U S T T A K E A B I T E L E T M E S H A K E U P Y O U R W O R L D- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - As Lily moved to Paris two years ago, she knew nobody. In school she was always more of the loner type that would just sit in some corner drawing, but after a year she started hanging out in the circles of the artists. Those were the kids, from the academy and some who were a little bit younger or older, that would sit together, draw, talk about famous pictures, visit galleries together and critic each other… That’s where she met him. Jaykob Daniel Vaux. Another Artist, one year older then her. He was devilishly hot, cheesy as hell and was great friend to her. He understood her, she felt secure when she was with him. Lily always felt happy in his presence. And somewhere in the last couple of months she had to confess something to herself. She liked him more. More than she should’ve. More then she thought that he could ever like her. Jaykob’s best friend found out about Lily’s feelings… Probably it was the way that she looked at him. She adored him. She could just watch his face for hours without getting bored. His eyes, his smile, his small dimples on his cheeks when he laughed… It had been awkward for the last couple of weeks and that made Lily sad. She liked him too much as a friend to be able to loose him. If she couldn’t have his heart she at least wanted to have his friendship. So deciding ,it was time to finally put the problem in the closet and come back to their original friendship , they made up a date for a movie night.
They had done this. A million times. For the last year he was the person who visited her the most often. Why was she then so nervous. Lily knew. She didn’t want to screw their friendship over… The whole day she was one bundle of nerves, she wasn’t even capable of drawing… Around noon, she gave up and bought herself a pack of cigarettes. She knew about Jaykob’s sickness and she felt awful that she smoked, especially when she was going to see him in couple of hours, but that was the only thing that could calm her nerves now.
Somehow it was ten minutes before Jaykobs arrival. Lily put the pop corn in a bowl and put two glasses for the wine bottle on the table. She a simple pair of jeans and a tee on… Her hair was up in a ponytail and she online had a little mascara on her eyes. As she heard Jaykob knock on the door she took a sharp breath and then made her way to the door. As he called her Olive she couldn’t help but relax. He knew she hated it. Shut up, Vaux. Get your ass in here. she said with her deep voice and british accent. And so we are clear, there is no such land as England. she said and closed the door after him. I have a Christmas present for you. she smiled.

He didn’t hesitate to walk up to her once inside her house and bring her into his arms. It had been to long, and to painful to not have been near her. Hugging her tightly he unconsciously kissed the top of her head and let her amazing aroma fill his nostrils. This definitely felt like a normal weekend, instead of forcing himself to the art studio convincing himself not to look for her around campus. He grinned at her words. “England, United Kingdom same old same old. Either way you are all utter rubbish” he tried his best to imitate her British accent- which he always seemed to get worse at every time he tried. “ I best stick to my Australian one huh?” He winked at her, letting his arms fall from around her sides. He smiled at her mention of a present. Placing his bag on her couch he looked through it until he found her Christmas gift. “Why don’t great minds think a like” He joked pulling out a well gift wrapped palm size box that wore a blue ribbon for decoration. “And before you ask, yes I had help with the wrapping” everyone in town knew how horrible his wrapping skills were. For an artist, he somehow could never manage to hold the wrapping paper and the tape in a way that made sense and would lead to a beautiful finished product. He walked up to her looking down at her short little stature. He would always joke about how tall he was compared to her, but secretly he would always be glad she was short. It made her cuter than she already was. Besides, he could protect her more easily this way. “I hope you like it” He whisper as he handed her the little box, his nerves taking over him. It had taking him a long while to think of the perfect gift for her. He sat down in the arm of the nearby couch, just watching her carefully. The way her beautiful smile would light up her whole face, the way she scrunched her nose when she laughed. How her brown eyes were like a book to her soul. Not to mention her accent that made his heart beat faster and slower all at the same time. And that’s why he really did try to look for the perfect gift, because she was the perfect girl. He had gotten her a heart lock necklace; within it one side had one of her favorite quote from pride and prejudice and in the other side one of his favorite picture of the two of them. He figured it was a subtle way for her to know how he felt, without having to say it out loud or ruin their friendship. He just hoped his beautiful British friend would understand. “ I figured this was a perfect reminder that your to amazing for this century” he lightly flirted.
