it had been way too long since he had last seen kazuko. the longing in his heart was hard to bear, but their child came first, and there was no question in that. dervin was their life, and he was going to keep it that way. that's why a lot of the time, dervin was with him. it was thursday, and every thursday dervin came with him to the school. his son loved it more than anyone else in the school, because he got to socialize. that was more than lexin did. lexin was quite literally antisocial. he couldn't stand being around other people, especially when he was on the run.
"daddy?" dervin looked up at lexin with his big brown eyes. he had just started to learn how to clearly speak. lexin had been a little worried about that. "dervin?" he asked right back, knowing full well that dervin would tell him what was on his mind no matter what he said. that's how all little kids were. lexin found it amusing most of the time. he smile at his son, and listened to the kid ask about the bars along the wall. they were currently in the dance studio, which is where lexin was half the time. "they're made to do many different things." lexin said, picking up his son and holding him. he was affectionate toward his son, there was no doubt there. he loved him so much.
lexin grinned as he spun his son around in the air, and singing to him in russian, his accent in full swing. the only time that he ever did this was when he knew they were alone. he jumped up and down, and watched as dervin laughed and squealed. his son reminded him of kazuko so much. he stopped immediately when the door to the dance studio opened. he turned to see who was at the door, ready for anything. or so he thought.
tag; alba listening to; it will rain by bruno mars notes; i know it sucks, but i'm terrible at starting threads. she would know lexin by his real first name, because lexin is an undercover name. his first name is actually yakov.

She was glad to be free of her family for once, after tracking Lexin down she had come to Paris to warn him about the open war between her Yakuza clan and him, and the help her father had requested to finish him off. It had been so long ago since he last saw Lexin and their son… Dervin for sure would be grown up by now, she didn’t even see a picture, neither had news of them at all the time she was back home. Walking down the streets of Paris made her feel renovated, she never had the chance to set a foot outside the grounds of her palace in Japan, and she wasn’t allowed to socialize with people around her. Here as she walked by people shot her strange looks, maybe it was the way she carried herself, her foreign face or the clothes she wore but she didn’t mind, she never cared about what people thought and the looks were of admiration.
Being raised to be a Yakuza princess her life had been pretty easy and surrounded by… well violence and the family business, but she was so used to it, it was part of who she was. Of course once she did that mistake, even if she didn’t see it as a mistake, things weren’t easy for her at all. She had scars on her body, a reminder of her betrayal and the tortures she suffered but they were covered under makeup and clothes to hide them from view. She discovered Lexin was working on a private academy as a dance teacher. A small smile played on her lips on her usually expressionless face as she approached the building, knowing what she was going to find inside.
Once there Kazuko asked politely where she could find professor Lexin Tower, she felt so strange pronouncing his new name when she was used to call him by his real name. But that will come later once she located the classroom they said she could find him. Before opening the door she listened laughs and song in Russian… her son, her love, the both of them were there behind that door and for once they were close enough for her to reach them, she could open the door and see them. And that was exactly what she did. He hadn’t changed much… and with him was her son; she couldn’t even recognize him from the last time he had been on her arms. “Yakov…”

lexin literally froze when he saw kazuko. part of him want to rush to her with open arms. he wanted to embrace her, show her how much he loved her, but then something was holding him back. something was wrong. kazuko was here. she wasn't supposed to come find him and he wasn't supposed to find her. that had been their deal. unless something was wrong. his heart skipped a beat, and without hesitation he took a step backwards, suddenly aware of all of his surroundings. some one could be hiding anywhere in this school. it was a big school. then she said his name, oh god how he'd missed her voice, and his attention snapped back to her face. he frowned and then slowly stepped forward. the look on her face told him that they weren't threatened at the moment. "kaz?" he asked her, using the nickname that she had gotten so mad about when they first met. lexin couldn't help it though, he loved calling her that.
it took lexin a second to realize that he had brought his son as close to him as possible without hurting him within that time frame. he let his arms loosen slightly so that he could sit comfortably in lexin's arms. dervin looked at lexin with questioning eyes, but he could tell that his son recognized the woman in front of him. she had raised him for a year of his life, so it was understandable.
as if it was in slow motion, lexin looked over at kazuko. as soon as he met her eyes, something inside him cracked and he fell to his knees. he turned his face to his son and tried to hide the fact that he was holding back tears. the years with kazuko had been harder than he had ever let on, and this event was what made him crash. he set his son down on the floor and stood up, walked over to kazuko and pulled her into a hug, and held onto her. nothing in lexin wanted to let her go. he wanted to hold onto her and never let her go.

It had been hard enough to live all that time without her kid and Lexin to lose them forever, one thing was not seeing them but knowing they were fine, safe, somewhere in the world ready to find her whenever it was the right moment and another one was losing them because of her family. Yes, she had been loyal to the core, she had been raised to be that way, to follow the rules and be a proper Yakuza princess, but she broke that trust and now consequences fell upon her; not only upon her but her child. Watching his face again was better than she expected, it was as if all the pain she had been feeling inside vanished as easily as that.
Kazuko walked in and closed the door after her. “Yes, it’s me… I believe I hadn’t changed at all during all this time. Neither did you.” She said with a soft smile on her lips. Her attention was focused soon on Dervin when he moved on his father’s arm. He had changed a lot, grew up so fast she couldn’t recognize in him the kid she had raised in the past but she could see herself in him and a lot of traces of Yakov. Something inside her told her this child was hers, that he belonged to her and as soon as she realized that she wanted to hold him so tight… it had been a good decision coming to Paris to find them, whatever happened now was out of her power but it would be worth it for just this only moment with her son.
And then Kazuko was distracted again by Yakov, who left their son on the floor and walked over to her, pulling her into a tight hug. Once she was in his arms everything fell into place and even when she was raised not to cry tears rolled down her cheeks. “Shh, I’m here, I’m here again…” It was the pain in his eyes what told her she had to be strong for the two of them today. She looked at his eyes, moving one hand to his face and caressing his cheek. “I’ve missed you both…” She looked around for her kid not moving away from his arms though, they had things they needed to discuss but that could be done later, right now all she wanted was her family back after all that time.
