However, when he does feel the need to defend himself, he normally feels horrible despite the situation. He can get emotional if he argues with a person he loves because he feels as if he is a failure to them. Mattlock has another side to him, but it only shows up when he gets high or drunk. That being said, he is a drug addict searching for help, even though he never goes anywhere to do that since he feels like it is mostly a lost cause.
Mattlock's other side is a sarcastic, cheating, manwhore who enjoys sex. Often times when this happens, it can lead to him cheating on his loved ones if he has any. He despises this side of him with a passion and tries hard not to allow anyone to get him to take drugs or drink. However, since he hangs out with pretty much the wrong crowd, it has leg him to this. The only one to really thank for him becoming addicted is his brother, whom he fears very much.
Mattie loves musicals and broadway shows, but since he doesn;t have enough money, it is just a wish out there in the world he feels will never come true. He is also very forgetful, thanks to how he conditioned himself to forget things and lock them away like in his past. Mattlock Jones was born eleven years after his older brother in Auckland, New Zealand. Being the youngest, he was showered with love and affection. His older brother, Kingsary, started doing drugs at a young age due to their parent's apparent 'favoriting' of Mattlock. However, Mattie loved his brother and strove to be like him. That is until the whole thing came out that his dear older brother was dealing drugs. This lead to the death of their parent's when Mattlock was merely seven years of age. What had happened was that one of the guys that Kingsary sold the drugs to didn't get them. He left threatening messages on the family's door step, answering machine, and other places. Until one night when Kingsary was out. Mattlock heard a scuffling downstairs, looking down the hallway through a cracked door he saw the druggie kill his mother and father.
Now, Mattlock knew the danger he was in and quickly fled to his secret hiding spot. A small crawl space under Kingsary's bed. There, he waited and waited until he head the sound of his brother calling for him frantically. The older brother knew of the hiding spot, since he was the one who told him about it if anything bad had ever happened. Finding Mattlock, Kingsary grabbed him and they fled to Lyon hoping that they weren't followed.
Being younger than his older sibling, Mattie was the one who was the guinea pig for Kingsary's drug experiments. The older brother wanted to see what drugs mixed with want would effect a person and if he liked the results, that's what he sold to his costumers. Now Mattlock, being young, grew addicted to the drugs very easily. That is until he started requesting it even when Kingsary was low on the stuff.
That was when the older brother became violent, hitting Mattlock whenever he asked. He always told him to be quiet. The boy's thoughts about his past role model and fearing him greatly. Since Mattlock was pretty much homeschooled throughout his life, he was in high school before the other kids his age, graduating at sixteen. While doing so, he learned out to play instruments like the guitar and the ukulele, singing along with his songs whenever he could.
The younger brother found of the school in Paris and desperately wanted to go there. However, Kingsary always told him he wasn't good enough. One day after the older sibling tested on Mattlock, the younger one grew very angry and he exploded on his brother. This lead to a huge fight and Kingsary won, beating his brother till he was bloody, black, and blue. He feared his brother even more, and one day he slipped a sleeping drug in one of his brother's drinks.
He then stole all the money he could find in his brother's stash of cash, leaving his horrid brother behind. He was talented enough to get into La Lumineuse at the age of seventeen, a few months later turning eighteen. He locked away all his past in his mind and all he remembers is his name, birthday, and the one thing he hates most. His addiction to drugs.
