Today was a lucky day it seemed, class had let out early, and the weather was lovely. Something about Paris in the Autumn was just breathtaking, at least to the young girl who was currently standing in the courtyard enjoying the feel of the wind which swirled around her, causing the leaves to dance in the air. Shifting her bag, she pondered what she should do with the time she'd been given, she didn't have any real plans for today... however she did want to do something, it was simply too lovely a day to be wasted, another reason to be glad for the classes early release. Idly she wondered whether or not her love was out of his classes yet, but a quick glance at her father's old pocketwatch that hung around her neck vetoed that hope. What to do then? Aurora pondered for a moment if she should perhaps wait on him to get out, today would be a lovely day to meet somewhere. The romantic in her adored the thought of spending the day with him, but there was a part of her that acknowledged he might have work to do and be unable to meet up with her... or that he'd get distracted by that... woman. That was a displeasing thought...
Tilting her head, she noticed one of the tree's she'd often sit in was beginning to lose it's leaves, ahh the beauty in the changing seasons. Pushing her hair behind one ear, she crossed the courtyard, heels clicking as she walked. Aurora smiled politely at a few of the students she recognized as she stopped by the tree, leaning against it, she checked the time again... it would probably be an hour or two before he got out... She had nothing else to do, she could wait, besides she had gotten a hold of an old book of Celtic Lore, and was rather looking forward to reading it. Kicking off the shoes, and placing her bag next to the tree, she tucked the book in her pocket, and easily clamoured into the tree. Years of playing with her three brothers had made things like this as easy to her as writing was. Settling on one of the lower branches, she crossed her ankles and leaned back against the tree.
Pulling out the book, she pushed her hair over to one side, and opened the book to the first pages, taking in the scent of old books. How lovely it was, she'd discovered a small used bookstore around the corner from where she was living, and had been spending a great deal of her free time there. Her apartment had become rather flooded with books since she'd moved to Paris, not that she was protesting. Still... they were taking over her apartment more that a bit... Within moments of delving into the book, she'd lost herself into the world the book created for her. It was one of her favorite subjects, Lore that was, it was something that had inspired her to write as she was growing up, and still did to this day. She enjoyed the images they conveyed, the stories of how things might have once been. Aurora loved them just as much as she loved her fantasy and romance novels, though that probably explained her romantic nature. These books however were delightful, even wicked at times, after all the creatures that held her fascination the most were the Fae, which back home had been a common tale to find books about, here however not so much, but she'd definately found a few ones she'd never seen back home.

The day outside was beautiful, the sky was blazing blue and the leaves were bright red, brown and yellow. It was the perfect day to take her art outside and enjoy the day doing what she liked to do the most. She placed her easel in the soft green grass and bit the back of her brush thinking about how to frame it. Little by little everything started to appear in her white canvas, brilliant colors and happy scenes. The campus was full of life as autumn took over summer. She needed a theme though; she needed some point of focus for her painting. She had another project due soon and she wanted it to be about the school, mainly because it was the only thing that had run through her mind lately. Too much things going on her mind were blocking her artistic side but right now she was feeling like painting, she had that powerful urge of doing so. Smiling something caught her eyes, a girl climbing a tree and settling there to read. It had such a… New Yorker air… It made Anouk smile and before she realized her feet were taking her were the girl was.
She looked up from the base of the tree and called the girl. “Hey, hey you!” She said waving her hand so the girl will look down at her. Anouk was never ashamed of talking to strangers, she will just walk to you and talk, being shy wasn’t her thing, just as hiding what she thought. That brought her some problems with people but she liked to be honest. “Do you mind if I use you as a model?” The girl had a soft smile and it had some romantic air on her that caught Anouk attention. She was perfect for her painting, she was sure it was going to look great for the project because it was just what she had been looking for. “I’m doing a project for my art class and I think would look wonderful, just don’t move much okay?” Anouk ran to look for her easel, one her father had given to her when she had been admitted into the academy, and placed it near the tree where she could have a good look and at the same time talk to her.
“I hope you don’t mind. I’m usually like this.” She said smiling up to her while she worked on the sketch. It had to be quick because she couldn’t have the girl modeling for her during hours so she needed to remember it perfectly well. Moments like this were the best and the worst, because they were beautiful and full of meaning but so quick it was hard to catch them. “I guess you are from the school?” She asked. Anouk won’t mind talking while painting, it gave the model something to do and relaxed the atmosphere. “I’m Anouk, in my second year of art.” Anouk looked at her from time to time and little by little she had a perfectly good sketch to work with, for once the colors of her paint won’t be blue but brilliantly autumn and very inspired. She was going to feel proud, she was sure about it and lucky enough she was going to make a new friend. The girl seemed nice and so far she hadn’t sent Anouk to hell yet for disturbing her peace of mind at her moment. She tended to forget about not everyone feeling comfortable talking to strangers or modeling for a painting.

The book had sucked Aurora in without any pause, she loved just reading outdoors, it was so nice to sit outside, enjoy the feel of the sun on her skin. She adored the feel of the wind in her hair and playfully tugging at her skirts and the yellowing pages that she held between pale slim fingers. Autumn was just one of the best times of year, there was some sadness in the thought that the world was fading as Winter was coming, but she liked the thought of that, winter's pure white snow coating the city. Tilting the book, and holding it one handed, she slid her fingers through the curly mess that her hair was becoming as the wind played with it. She was enjoying her book, fantasy worlds, beautiful fae, mighty warriors, it was enrapturing. Then there came a voice, one that wasn't in her head telling a story as she read the book. She tilted her head, slightly startled, hazel eyes darting from the pages of the book down to a girl who was standing below her brightly smiling up at her. Aurora blinked slowly, before realizing that the girl was trying to get her attention, closing the book, and letting it rest in her lap, she smiled shyly.
"Um... yes? Can I help you?" She raised an eyebrow curiously, looking at the girl below her, she usually sat here and typically managed to go unnoticed, so it was unusual for someone to talk to her. "A model?! Me?", a lovely rose flush spread along her cheeks as she took in the girls words, was she serious? She was just the oddball bookworm, hardly model equipment, weren't they tall, slim and like really pretty? She was a petite little thing, and probably looked thoroughly wind tosseled. The blush's hue lightened to a soft pink, as she nodded her consent shyly, before speaking carefully, "Sure? I wasn't really planning on going anywhere any time soon anyway..." It wouldn't be too terrible to have a companion to pass the time with, she hadn't really met too many people in her three years here, and was slowly easing out of her shy shell, and spending time in other places then the library and her flat.
"I don't mind in the least, I just am a little surprised that someone would ask that of me, it's the first time it's happened to me in the whole time I've been here." Aurora watched the girls actions curiously, watching as she sketched something out on the papers before her. She was very animated in her actions, which was something Aurora could appreciate, she became very animated about literature and writing. "I am, I've been attending here for a while, it's such a lovely school," another hint of a coy, warm smile, "A pleasure to met you Miss Anouk, I'm Aurora, a forth year student and Writer." What was happening was something a little out of the ordinary, especially by Aurora's reclusive, and reserved tendencies, but she rather liked it.e potential of a new friend out weighed any misgivings she might have had about the situation. It was something her father would regard as suspicious, but she had far more faith in people than he did. Holding still, Aurora held her hands in her lap as she studied the girl, "Are you a local?" She was truly curious about the other student, and interested in hearing about her, human beings were stories in their own sense, and they were as intersting as books were to the young woman.

Anouk was a social butterfly, she talked to everyone who surrounded her and her bubbly and enthusiastic personality attracted people to her, as if she was the light and they were flies. It didn’t matter to her who you were if she could have a good time with you and so you could always see her surrounded by friends and hanging around. She didn’t like to slow down one bit and lived her life with a fast pace that not everyone was able to follow. That was reflected a lot in her art, which had been usually colorful and cheerful like her. Until her control broke down. After two years of keeping things in and managing to see a bright side of her problems she had finally broke down six months ago. It all had come to the point where it was simply unbearable anymore, and things had gone from good to bad to worst in the blink of an eye. But there were moments like this where she felt herself again and saw life with different colors, as if the sun had break through the clouds of her head offering her a new chance. It never lasted much though, but she enjoyed it while she could, knowing clouds would be covering her again soon enough and she will have time to mourn later.
The girl had finally given her the green light to use her as a model and she happily started to work and laughing a little at the girls’ surprised face. Her shyness reminded her of Alexei; he always seemed surprised when someone talked to him, as if he believed he wasn’t interesting enough to catch someone’s attention. “Yes you.” She said laughing as if the was the most normal thing in the world to do. For her it was of course but she could understand the girl’s point of view. Anouk loved how her mind focused all her senses in the painting and her brain disconnected from her body and her problems. Her mind was a brand new white canvas which was slowly being filled with the new colors of her new painting. It wasn’t strange for an artist to use people from the campus as models, it strange her that no one had asked the girl because she had this especial air. But no one got the muse from the same source which was good because it made everything more original. “Well, I am your first then.” Anouk liked discovering new potential models for her paintings and she was sure the girl was going to be starring on more than one.
As she tried to focus on what colors to use as base she hold back her laugh at being called Miss. Only her teachers had called her that way and they didn’t even do it anymore because she had left clear she wanted to be called just Anouk. It made her feel kind of old when someone addressed her as miss. “Please, just Anouk. Nice to meet you Aurora.” It surprised her that the girl had been there for so long and she had never noticed her before. People from all over the world came to study to La Lumineuse and since it was a private academy the campus was beautifully decorated and in very good shape. It was always full of life, people laughing and walking, some practicing their music in the courtyard, others practicing dancing or the lines for a play and people like her, painting the scenes in front of them. That quiet girl who climbed a tree with an old book on her hands and such a beautiful expression on her face as she opened it, had called the artist inside her, reminding her of the students back in New York when she spent time there with her father. “Yes I am a local, I was born here in Paris.” She said smiling up to her, glad the girl was giving her something to talk about. “What about you?”

The other girl seemed to be the picture of energy and exuberance, very bright, a rather vibrant character, and Aurora felt slight pangs of envy. She was so terribly shy, and hesitant when it came to talking to new people, once she chatted them up and was a little bit comfortable she had no problem chatting with them. But she couldn't just run up to someone who looked interesting, that took a lot more courage then she could work up half the time. Speaking to her beloved that first time had been difficult, admitting she liked him, let alone was in love with him, had pretty much taken everything she had. But she was getting better at it, that was one of the problems with growing up with that many brothers, they'd kept her pretty sheltered with their over protective behavior, she was the baby girl of the family. The sheltered princess, she'd been called that once or twice since arriving here, but it really wasn't her fault in the least... That was the reason she'd wanted to come to Paris, to be able to discover herself, to see the world, to experience life. Her father called frequently, as did her brothers, they missed her, and she missed them, but she loved her life here, and had fallen in love, so she really had no intention of going back to stay.
A warm smile curved over her slightly wind-bitten lips, a healthy flush sprang to her cheeks at the thought of him, she shifted her glance towards the building, towards where she knew his classroom to be. Aurora was really hoping to see him later today... The other girls laughter drew her back into their current conversation, and she turned her glance back to Anouk. "Indeed, well then I'm honored to be the model for a young, up and coming artist," a slight flash of amusement danced in the young writer's eyes. "Does that make me lucky if you are to be my first then?" She was teasing, gently of course, she'd no idea how talented the young girl was, but she was going to assume she had skill if she was attending this particular place, because she had yet to meet a single person here who wasn't particularily skilled at something. Musicians, artists, singers, actors and writers, this place was a bohemian haven, and she'd completely fallen in love with the place. It had become her home, and it often gave her the chance to meet new and intersting people from different places and from all walks of life. Truly exhilarating.
She flushed slightly at being corrected, she always did her best to be as polite as she could be. But often some people rather disliked it, they didn't like her using sir or ma'am or miss, but it was something she'd always done. "Sorry, it's habit, then it'll be 'just' Anouk. It's a honor to meet you." A delighted expression danced across her expressions, and another smile tugged at her lips, "How wonderful it must have been growing up here, this is such a devine and beautiful city! Since coming here I've completely fallen in love with the city," a breathy sigh of satisfaction, before Aurora spoke again, "No, I'm not local, I'm from a small town in Ireland, I learned this language during my schooling since it's always been my dream to come here and get to pursue my love of writing. I've been looking forward to this, experiencing the world, seeing things, three years away from home has been amazing."

She didn’t know why but the more she tried to forget the more she remembered. The campus was her home away from home and the only place she had to relax. Anouk had spend more hours in the past six months in the school grounds that at her own home and that said a lot about her, she was a workaholic because she used it to forget, to have something to do besides thinking. It was ironic how people used their homes to hide from the one they don’t want to see and she couldn’t because he lived under the same roof. She smiled up to the girl and caught the look on her eyes… a look she had seen in her very own eyes dozens of times when she looked at Alexei. Aurora was in love and not with the school grounds or the city, she was in love with someone from the school. She wanted to paint that daydreaming expression of her face, the way her warm eyes looked when she remembered that special person. “Well I don’t know if that makes you lucky but I like painting people who had never been painted before.” She said smiling and shrugging her shoulders while she concentrated on how to make the girl look like that again, it had been such a short moment she didn’t have time to capture it properly.
Anouk laughed softly as Aurora apologized, she didn’t thought it was such a big deal as to apologize for it but it confirmed her how much she looked like Alexei. That made Anouk’s expression change as she thought of her own love and how much she had been missing him. “Don’t worry, it just makes me feel kind of old.” She said sweetly at the girl. She was only nineteen, too young to be so polite around people more or less her age. She took a moment to think if it had been so great to grow up in Paris, from her point of view it would have been the same growing up in any other given town. “Well I’ve kind of grew up here and there. My father is photographer so he had this habit of changing cities as often as work called him and he took me with him, but since my mom re-married I decided to stick around a bit.” It should have been the other way, she should have gone so her mother would have time to enjoy her new husband but she had got Alexei and of course that changed everything. “Indeed it’s a beautiful city but you grow used to it if you spend your life here you know.” The beautiful buildings had all faded to the background because she was so used to walk by them that it was normal for her.
She had been in many places thanks to her father’s work, and Ireland had been one of them but for such a short time that she couldn’t enjoy it properly at all. “And did you have the chance to experience Paris properly since you came?” She asked, because Anouk knew how much time the academy could suck for people who took it seriously, and how hard it was to have a balanced life without one of them dropping. Also taking into account the Aurora’s personality she much doubted she had experience much of Paris apart from the shopping and the sightseeing. Anouk had made sure of squeeze every single drop of Paris, she had enjoyed every minute of the life there, and she had lived it in such a rush that some of the memories she had were a blurry colorful mess; probably because she had been high or wasted at such times. Along with those memories she had the blank spots, a wall that prevented her from remembering what had happened. She never thought much of it, she never worried about it, she just let it go like so many things in her life.

Aurora eased back slightly, shifting her weight carefully, making sure not to shift her position too much and taking care not to fall out of the tree. Her vision shifted to the building once more, she was enjoying the current company but it really didn't distract from her desire to see her beloved for even a split second. Any time spent away from him was far too long, even a second felt like an eternity at times. The idea of love had always been one she dwelled on when reading, but now, experiencing it was so much better than she'd ever even begun to imagine it would be. Though hiding their relationship was often a bit stressful, she didn't think there was anything wrong with loving him, and hated the having to hide it, but if it meant for period of time, he was her's, completely and only hers, she'd endure. The thought entered her mind of what her father or brothers would say if they ever found out and she had to resist the urge to shudder, that was a dangerous thought to be thinking. Irish men, at least the one's in her family, had tempers that ran hot, and she'd rather her beloved not have to endure that to be perfectly honest, though she didn't think her mother would mind too terribly. Smiling to the girl beneath her, she half shrugged, "Well, I'll think it lucky since it has allowed me to meet someone new."
"Oh? My apologies, but does age really matter? It's nothing but a number." Aurora had never really understood people's obsession with age, they'd lie about it, or say someone didn't act their age, she'd been told several times over the years that she didn't act like a twenty-one year old, she refrained from drinking, spent her spare time studying and writing, and aparently was too 'sheltered'. Aparently that made her different than other girls her own age, but she wondered how many of them had had her home life. "I mean, I'm twenty-one, and people are always baffled by that, and even if something might make you feel old, why should you? You are not, correct?" The girl looked like she might be slightly younger than her, but guessing ages had never been a strong point of Aurora's. "Oh! How delightful, I would have rather loved that, my father's a professor, so we stayed in one spot most of the time, the only times I left the country were to visit my Mama's family in Estonia." She'd always enjoyed seeing her family in Estonia, it was a lovely country to say the least. "I suppose that could happen... but I find it impossible, I lived amongst the moors of Ireland and the Cliffs along the coast for years, and they still take my breathe away. Especially when the sun sets along them, it's stunning..." She paused when she realized she was babbling a bit, a tiny bit of a nervous habit of hers and flushed pink again, "Sorry, I tend to ramble a bit if I get carried away."
Had she experienced Paris properly? Well her beloved and her had been to some of the lovely places in Paris a few times, but for the most part she really had spent most of her time in her flat, or in the bookstores that dotted Paris... or the libaries... "Well... I've been to a few of the museums, and seen a few of the music student's performances at local spots... so probably not as much as others... I do spend a great deal of time writing, but still being here is a dream come true, and I even get my own space, which is divine." She had been thrilled to have a space all her own, where her brother's wouldn't disrupt the silence, though there were moments she missed the rowdy sounds of her home growing up. "Do you have any recomendations on places to go, or things to see?"

How easy was to ready Aurora’s facial expressions! Anouk sighed as she yearned for her own unrequited love. Two and a half years had been since she realized she loved him and three years since she had met him for the first time. It would have been so much easier if he was just another boy at the street, another one she could hit on while partying or socializing but no, he had to be her step-brother no blood related whatsoever but it was the same. Why life had to be so cruel with her was something she didn’t understand at all but she will rather have him like that than no way at all. She had heard spring was the season of love, the season of butterflies in the stomach and happy endings and your pulse running like crazy but to Anouk autumn was the real season of love. Real love was much more than the loud heartbeat in your ears, it was something deep, quiet and calm, something unchangeable. Spring was sparkly and exciting and it changed with time, autumn was permanent and it could handle winter. But it didn’t matter; she couldn’t enjoy it either way. Shaking her head she tried to focus on the scene in front of her and the girl’s voice. “You remind me of someone.” Anouk never really had problems making friends, she would even speak to a random someone in a shop or the street, and as long as she found that person interesting she didn’t mind taking the first step. Aurora was so much like Alexei that it was painful, but it someway it was calming her down too something she found strange.
She had never give much thought about why she felt old when someone called her ‘miss’, it reminded her she had to become an adult and stop being so familiar with everyone, and that was something she had always avoided no matter what. “Don’t worry, it just makes me feel kind of old.” Anouk wasn’t old at all, just nineteen, but being called like that made her think about how soon she will have to become an adult and make a life for herself, how things were about to get more complicated and she was afraid of blinking and being forty. “Well, certainly it’s just a number. But it doesn’t have to do with the number; it’s more consequences that number has.” She said, not sure she was making any sense with her speech at all. “It has nothing to do with the way you act but how they expect you to act or how you will have to change.” She wouldn’t be able to party as hard as now, her feelings and her way of seeing things will change too. She was going to become another person, an adult, and she was afraid of losing her real essence in the process, of becoming just another adult.
It was true that the beauty of the city still struck her sometimes, but it had faded to background eventually, what was the point of having your breath taken away for something you see every day? But then if you carefully thought about that it was the light you see things what makes them especial, not the thing itself, and with the city it was the same. Depending of her mood she will stop and take a look at the city and think it was wonderfully beautiful and magic and other days she will just pass by without second thoughts about it. “I know what you mean.” Anouk softly laughed as the girl apologized again, another of the things that reminded her of Alex, that made her smile and a soft pink tinted her cheeks. “It’s okay, I tend to talk too much sometimes.” The way it sounded Aurora hadn’t really experienced the city much, just the touristic side like everyone else. Anouk referred to parties, to hang out with friends on cafés and shopping, to enjoy the real side of Paris. “I recommend you to just get lost one day, you will love how many things you can discover if you step out of the tourist zone. I’ll take you someday somewhere.” The real taste of Paris life was in the daily life and the way you interact with the city, and Anouk just loved to do so.

Tugging on her gloves slightly, Aurora was surprised to realize she felt rather restless suddenly, she supposed it was the moment it was necessary to sit still that the urge to move would strike. Shifting perhaps half an inch, she settled back again, a dreamy expression on her features as she thought about the fortune she was experiencing, it had taken her three years to really grow comfortable with the city, to fall in love, to pursue love, and now to help inspire someone elses' artist endeavors. She was glad to help the young girl, she knew how suddenly inspiration could strike, her's had struck when she's fallen in love, and she was in the midst of writing a fantastic tale of love and fantasy, and she always had her notebook with her ready for the mood to strike. Anouk's next words stuck her as slightly amusing, people often said that to her, they always said she reminded them of someone, especially when she smiled. Though usually men said it, odd as that might have seemed, older men who she's spoken to in cafe's who'd told tales of lost loves. "Really? I get that a lot, who are they?" She was inquisitive, after all curiosity really was her driving force in life, it was the thing that inspired Aurora the most, hearing other peoples stories. It was a way of getting some life experience, sensing emotions, and learning what evoked those sorts of emotions in people.
Aurora smiled again at the girl, she was older than the girl before her it seemed, but she never felt old if someone refereed to her as miss, but where she'd grown up it was normal to be refereed to as miss or the little miss, which had never failed to prompt her to pout, because she wasn't a little girl. "I suppose different walks of life lead to different methods of thinking, different views and different perspectives on the day to day matters." She'd often been told she had an odd way of thinking of things, of seeing the world, and had told that her head spent far too much time in the clouds. Though she didn't feel as if that was a particularly bad thing, so what if she was a dreamer, and looked at the good things, it kept her positive and happy. "That is true I suppose, but I do believe that way of thinking will lead to unhappy realizations of the world, doesn't it differ for each person? To predict everyone's behavior to be the same is just silly. Why should you ever have to change, to force yourself to become something you are not? We are who we are, and that's that, cause personally, I like who I am." Changing a movement, she tucked a runaway strand of hair behind her ear, before allowing her hands to fall back into her lap.
Tilting her head slightly at the girl, she studied the expression that had crossed the young artist's pretty features for a microsecond, that look had been... lovestruck, she knew it well, it was one she'd seen a lot over the years, her mother's glances at her father, her own expression in the mirror, strangers in cafe's and around the towns. How cute, love really did surround this city. "Nothing wrong with talking too much, I rather enjoy some simulating conversation." The girls offer to take her around the city caused her eyes to light up in delight, and her hands came together as she beamed, "I would be very honored if you were to show me around sometime, exploring a city alone can be dreadfully dull. I'll also take your recommendation for getting lost one day... though I have a terrible sense of direction, so it shouldn't really be all too hard... the difficult task would be finding my way back to my flat." She laughed merrily at her own words, it was true though, she got lost far too easily for her own good, but it sounded like a delightful idea nevertheless.

Anouk had never believed in fairy tales, or destiny or all those pretty things people talked about when it came to love. So she certainly saw some fairy tales taking place, just like her mother’s one, she had never believed she was going to have one. For the past three years she had been dating all the boys that had crossed her path with the hopes at least one of them could keep her entertained enough and it never worked. She thought eventually she was going to forget Alexei, fading to the background and becoming more sisterly towards him as she kept dating boys, she thought one day she will find one who will make her feel good and comfortable and would give her what she wanted. So far she couldn’t have been more wrong, not only did not fade away but it just grow worst and worst, almost to the point it was unbearable anymore. One day Anouk was just simply going to break from all the pressure, one day she was going to get all shattered but for now she was handling things quite well, if you count drugs and alcohols and heavy parties as well. She had learnt that doing those things she could be free of everything for some precious hours and there was also the appealing fact of not remembering a thing the next day. Sharp pain ran across her chest, she didn’t even give it away in expression because she was so used to feel it every time she had to speak about Alex. “My step brother Alexei.” She said in a small soft voice, not really wanting to talk about him when she was so full of muse.
Frowning at her sketch she erased some parts and changed them carefully to smile at the result. Anouk wasn’t the clever girl when it came to thinking and painting at the same time so she took a few minutes to mull over all the things Aurora had said. “Growing up, maturing, be more conscious of morals and everything… and of course the things you can’t simply do anymore.” Age was always attached to something, and every age had their rage of things you could and couldn’t do. Though Anouk had broken that rule along the years not caring one little bit about what the rest of the world thought about her, she knew at some point she was going to start caring, that at some point she was going to mature and grow up and she will stop doing things she loved to do before. She was afraid she was going to lose something of herself in the process, as if some part of her was going to die as she transformed into a responsible adult. Not that she wasn’t responsible now, but it was different, she was young enough to be reckless and keep doing idiotic things like painting a mural in the walls of the Louvre Station one night with the company of a very drunk male and being very drunk herself. “I don’t mean changing because people wants you to, but because it’s kind of… natural.”
Anouk had certainly experimented well with the city, it had been her playground during that past three years and there was nothing surprising or exciting out there for her anymore. To be honest, even if there was she wasn’t going to be able to enjoy it properly since she was so depressed. Life lost all the appeal six months ago when the situations started to get out of hand. And who was she supposed to ask for help? Alex who was the reason she was like this? Her mother who was so very happy with her life? Her new father who she barely knew enough? Her real father who was very busy traveling the world with his work? Or her friends who could care less about her and her problems when no one had ever tried to stop her from getting to that stage? No, she was alone in this all and she would have to get out of it all on her own too. “The Latin quarter has a lot of interesting shops scattered all around, I think you may enjoy it there.” She had been there a few times looking for inspiration and doing some shopping when she was feeling particularly crazy.

Aurora smiled, so Anouk had a brother? Interesting, they had a little something in common. Though she didn't seem to want to talk about him, though Auroura often had trouble reading people... "Wow, I have three brother's you know, all older than me. It's one of the reason I came here, to get away from them and my father, they treat me like a little girl and were always afraid that I would get into trouble. So I never really dated or anything like that before I came here. My mother said it would be healthy for me to get away from them for a little while, to experience life. Though I do miss them... but they call all the time to make sure I'm alright... and not dating anyone." She grinned mishieviously, she hadn't exactly told them the truth, but she wasn't sure about how they would react to her dating someone .... a bit older than herself. Probably, knowing them, not well in the least. But she was in love and she wasn't going to give up that love for anything, not even her family. Though she'd never let her family go either, they were very important to her.
Aurora frowned slightly, she could understand where the girl was coming from, change was inevitable, and she'd changed since coming here. But what she meant was she didn't comprehend the people who played a role called 'mature', wouldn't do the things they'd once enjoyed because it was too immature. Growing up she and friends had gone to dells during the equinoxes, and danced and played music, an old tradition where she was from, one that was said to protect you from the evil spirits which would come by inviting the good spirits to come out and play. She'd loved it, she'd loved singing the old songs and dancing around giant campfires, as they took turns playing music. And as they'd gotten older some of their friends hadn't wanted to join in anymore, stating they were too old for childish games. Those were the girls who'd gotten pretty and later said they needed more 'mature' friends. Aurora had never taken it personally, but she'd always thought such things were ridiculousy, why should age and maturity really be a factor in the things you loved. And why did you never grow out of some things. Really... "I suppose, but I never think you can be too old or mature to enjoy doing something that you love..."
The Latin Quarter? She was sure that had been mentioned to her once or twice, but she had such a knack for getting lost she'd never made it there. Not to mention, she'd promised her brothers and father that she wouldn't wander alone, after all it was far too dangerous. "I'd very much like to explore the city, however I get terribly lost, and not just like, wander around until I find my way kinda lost, but the hardcore, ending up in the wrong side of town kinda lost. It has always worried my family. Maybe I'll see if someone will come with me." Here she paused to think, tapping her chin thoughtfully, "Or perhaps I should finally learn to read a map." Her smile turned sheepish, Aurora had been trying to figure out the art of map reading since she'd arrived, so far it was definately not turning out to be one of her talents. Maps confused her, especially when she was already lost, but perhaps she could get him to risk spending an evening or a day out on the town with her? It would be pleasant... though she doubted he'd agree.

She never had the chance of enjoying a brother until her mother got re-married and even then she never really saw him as a brother. Anouk couldn’t imagine how having such a large family would be, and certainly for someone as free-spirited as her it would be hard having so much brothers looking after her all day long. She was the kind of girl who didn’t like to be told what to do and that would bite you if you ever step on her personal space and her private affairs. It had been annoying enough to have Alexei acting like a big brother around her sometimes and he hadn’t even step into her life that much. It had always been her mother and her since she turned seven or her father and her when she went to spend time with him for months. Her mother had never crossed her path, neither did her father. They both gave her the freedom she needed and asked for always watching over her but never intruding. Her mother had never approved so much of the boyfriend choices but she never really intruded in the topic, her father, being a bit of a ladies man, never really cared how many boys she dated. “Three? That’s a large family you have. I don’t know how I will handle all the intruding and overprotective behavior, Alex is my step brother so he had always allowed me my space and my parents… well my father is a hippie and my mom knows how my I appreciate my space too.”
Anouk was afraid of growing up, of losing her crazy touch when doing so and become someone boring. But her father had never grown up in a sense, he kept doing crazy things and she had always scolded him for not acting his age. She had also felt the need to scold her mom for acting like a teen around her new husband and being all lovey-dovey. Part of it was because she never really had the chance of acting like that with the one she loved. “Who knows, but we can’t act like kids forever right?” She knew she had lost the innocence and that over the years she had grow up a lot, and she was growing up a lot with her depression though not in the sense everyone will like. She laughed at the girls comments about getting lost. Anouk never had much sense of direction either but since this was her city it was hard for her to get lost, and even when she had been out and about in other cities around the world with her father she hadn’t get lost much. “Reading maps is hard and confusing, it’s always better to ask around for directions.” she frowned at her picture and did some changes around smiling at the result. “So now that you are free I guess you are dating someone?” She said raising her eyebrow at the girl with a half smile on her face. It had been so obvious that the girl was in love with someone, maybe because she could recognize the signs since she also was in love. She truly hoped the girl was having more luck in her love life than she was.
